Remember that little video with the eye?Even on mj.com in 2001 intro was unbreakable
You’re right. I was thinking summer of 2000(a yearNah the 30m figure was an exaggeration. I don't deny it cost far more than a penny to make the album but most expensive album ever made, it is not lol
Not years before. "You Rock My World" leaked just a few days before its official release in August 2001, by which point it was already set to be the lead single.
It was just a bad time. The later years were fine. That's what I'm guessing anyway, since everything was quiet between the two after 2003/4.Sony messed everything up![]()
Because he was retired from music,he was writing songs during that time though,he was gonna drop another album then, that's what I heardIt was just a bad time. The later years were fine. That's what I'm guessing anyway, since everything was quiet between the two after 2003/4.
I can believe this. Ultimately, Sony can say any figure they want. If you want to say you recorded the most expensive album of all time, all you've got to do is make up a bigger number than everybody else. (See also Scream and Captain EO both claiming to be the most expensive video of all time)Michael Jackson wanted to release the most expensive album of all time apparently also due to his vanity
Note also that (for the 'Invincible' album) many other songs had been recorded and produced before 2001 (i.e., in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000).I can believe this. I doubt it cost more than Chinese Democracy, but it really doesn't matter.
In any case, no album should cost that much. That's just silly. 2001 was well into the digital age, which brought down recording costs significantly. Invincible didn't even have that many real instruments on it.
