Your Favourite Perfume?

^It smells nothing like shampoo. It's so...fresh. It smells like epic mixed with awesome, doused in glitter, and spritzed with champagne.

And, are you trying to sell us some of that, cuz you're starting to give off that Billy Mays vibe with your description up there.

Remember what happened to the last set of people who tried to pitch perfumes at MJ fans... :p

See, now THAT'S the note nobody has mentioned in their reviews- champagne. I'll make sure to sample it if I run across it. Most people described it as very fruity, hence one person who said "shampoo". People call perfumes and red wines 'dirty socks', too, they're just trying to describe the notes.

Noooooo, if I wanted to sell perfume I'd probably try to sell yours (D&G)- as Ellen Tracy perfumes would mean economical suicide. I think I already spoke at length about Black Orchid. Perfume nuts are not twitter clientele. I like hearing why people love a certain perfume, what does it remind them off, how do they feel wearing it. I do have a veritable obsession, probably a past life. :D Together with my obscene love for Japanese writing paper and German fountain pens. The written word, Snape, the written word. Totally underappreciated.

Ohhhh, I like this thread. I have 3 perfumes I used actually:

- Lucky You by Lucky Brand Jeans: This is my summer perfume. I've been using it for almost 8 years.
- L'instant Magique by Guerlain: It has a powdery smell, its quite expensive, good for winter.
- Chanel Chance, eau tendre: This is a new one I absolutely adore. I can't even explain the scent - maybe a little sweet.

I have recently discovered and fallen in love with Donna Karan's "Cashmere Mist." It's feminine and pretty, yet light and subtle. I can't stand heavy, grandma-type perfumes.

This is a milestone for me as it's my first bottle of perfume EVER. I had never really delved into the world of frangrances until now.

Of course Black Orchid :p and
Armani CODE, YSL Paris
Body shop's White musk is very cheap but not bad too:)

Great thread indeed! Been wanting to try Miss Dior, but I heard it was a bit too strong. And since I don't like perfumes with bolder scents I haven't really tried it. Anyway my faves are:

1.- Rose The One: D&G
2.- Coco Mademoiselle: Chanel
3.- Chance (any of them) : Chanel
4.-212: Carolina Herrera (with this one I was a bit disappointed because the scent didn't last as much or smell as good as it did on other people on me LOL)

Oh also, I'd love to try Jean Patou's JOY

my mom always tells me how great it is, but apparently it's so hard to get these days, she said my dad used to buy her a bottle every year.

And another one I wanna try and seems super hard to find at least over here is L'Air du Tempes by Nina Ricci

another recommendation from my mom, since my grandpa used to give it to her as a present, my mom sure was lucky :D

You can find so called 'decants' and samples of rare, vintage, discontinued etc parfumes.

http://theperfumedcourt.com/
http://surrendertochance.com/

Most of the parfums that I love dearly are not available in regular department stores. I often get lucky at overstock.com as well for discontinued parfums etc.

"Escape into the night with the Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy Eau de Parfum, a magical elixir that comes to life when the clock strikes twelve. Inspired by fairy tales and the enchantment of the world after dark, the fruity fragrance conveys an intriguing allure."

Thats what I have at the moment .

My boyfriend bought me a new perfume for Christmas. It's called 'Addison', from Hollister. It's a beachy, summery perfume. It has notes of peach, peony, and 'sunshine' musk. I love the combination of floral, fruity, and musky/spicy, but tones it down on the musk/spice since that is my least favourite type of perfume. It seems it has a little bit of everything without being overpowering. I am just obsessed with it now! I wear it everyday :D

My favorite:
Amor Amor sunshine: Cacharel
Lolita Lempicka
Poison hypnotic: Dior
D&G Light Blue

I've just added a new perfume to my collection - Cabaret by Gres. It's simply amazing and I get a lot of compliments when I wear it (somehow it's as I imagined Michael would have smelt).

Yeah, I do remember seeing it around but I have never sniffed it myself.

^^Seems to be a collector's item. $100 and upwards, unfortunately.

I found one ebay auction currently standing at $26, one day to go, 4 bids so far - and that might be worth bidding. If someone posts picture on their dresser, crumpled sheets - trustworthy - stock photos- not so much.

Always, always check Ross, Marshall's, TJ Maxx and discount stores - I could have sworn I have seen it around. Oh, and Overstock.com, too. They don't have it right now, but check once a month, you might get lucky.

My favorite Laura Biagiotti perfums are also discontinued.

Now, I usually don't wear perfumes that often, but there are a few that I've tried
such as: Jennifer Lopez: Glow
Oscar(my mom wears that perfume, & it smells pretty good)
Opium(my mom also wears this one & doesn't smell too bad)
Not too long ago, my mom got FLORA by GUCCI from someone she knew from her old job & she wasn't even expecting it, but I have to say, that stuff smells pretty good!
But so far, those are the only ones that I've known to try once in a while
