After years and years of MJ fandom, I thought i'd show some love to the greatest and most diverse album of all... Dangerous.

In my opinion everything gelled so well for him in this album. The coverage was HUGE, the videoclips were massive events and the song choice on the album was top notch. He did the Superbowl, had a World Tour, released Black or White to a record audience and provided a song for Free Willy which was a massive blockbuster from that year.

His look was also great during this era... he had the long flowing curls, the fedora and the arm brace. He seemed more independant than ever, launching Heal The World foundation and despite the growing criticisms due to his personal changes, he appeared at events like the Grammy's, NCAA awards and even sang in front of President Bill Clinton.

Now take a look at the songs on the album. Bad was criticized for being too Thriller like in it's song selection, but was still a top class album in it's own right. However, Dangerous broke the mould of song choice that was used previously for OTW, Thriller and Bad. Remember The Time, with it's instant connotation to Ancient Egypt. Jam, with it's basketball imagery and unforgetabble video clip with the worlds other famous MJ. You had Heal The World, and Will You Be There which were brilliant songs filled with hopeful messages that actually reached out to the audience. Then you have the ever controversial Black or White... where if you listen to his voice, especially in the opening few lines you can hear an amount of joy or happiness I had not heard in his voice since The Way You Make Me Feel, as if the whole recording was done with Michael smiling.

Last but not least are Who Is It, In The Closet and Give In To Me... These songs IMO are some of the most timeless he's ever created, especially Who Is It. The videoclip for Who Is It was a more mature then we'd ever seen and told a somewhat confusing but hugely interesting story. Definately a song that could stand the test of time.

....Theres more which I'll talk about for now, but I just wanted to get this out. :D

I agree completely! I have to rush this to study for my Science mid-terms but I agree with everything said. Who Is It is possibly the greatest song MJ has created, or ANYBODY has created. I love that song. 'Give In To Me' is just A-MA-ZING! I also really love 'Dangerous'! Dangerous, the song, was amazing, 7 minutes of pure beauty. I love how in some parts it'd just be his background music and his "WOO! OW!" I just love this album  Also, Will You Be There is the soundtrack to my life... amazingly beautiful!

Not my fave MJ album ever, but "Who Is It", "Remember The Time", "Give In To Me" and "Will U Be" are some of his best songs ever IMO.

Best album ever! Love this album soooo much. It's just perfect in every way :)

Everyone (non fans included) all rave about Thriller and how good it is, which they should, it is a good album. But in reality, Dangerous is by far Michael's best album. From Jam to Dangerous, front to back the album delivers. It gives the listener a wide variety of styles of music that was done at the right time.

This isn't your ordinary album, it's more like a story if you will. Each song flows into one another very well. IMO Michael could have easily made a music video for each song on this album. That's how well this album was done production wise.

This album gets 5 out of 5 stars. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars, you know I would. :)

from the amazing artwork on the cover to the pure art inside,
loving all the songs -new jack swing , pop, rock, gospel , its all there isnt it ?
thats what IM talking about lol.

wicked album ,imo my favorite.

I completely agree with you. I can appreciate why eveyone raves about Thriller but I always feel that Dangerous is over looked. It annoys me when ever i'm watching MJ documentrys, that they always talk loads about Off The Wall and Thriller and how great they are, say a little bit about Bad and seem to completely forget about Dangerous and HIStory!

Definitely the best album ever. A very rare 10 out of 10 album.

I wrote a full review on it once here. There's a link to the thread in my sig below.

I love the Dangerous LP. Thriller made me a fan but it is Dangerous that turn to when I am really in a Michael Jackson Groove kinda mood.

Personal faves from the album: In The Closet, Will You Be There, Who Is It and Keep The Faith.

Dangerous may have been overlooked in the US but in Barbados that album detonated. Dee-jays were literally screaming in ecstasy when they talked about the album and played the music.

Ahh, the memories.

It's one of my favorite albums of all time, and definately the most creative one Michael has ever done. It has something for everyone, and still it's not all over the place, everything goes so well together. My favorite songs from Dangerous are Who Is It, In The Closet, Will You Be There, Black Or White and Jam. Just perfect, 10/10.
And the best album cover EVER.

Imma go listen to it right now! :)

I THINK.. Not sure if this is just my opinion of the moment, or what but.

Though you can find some tracks on each album that are better than some tracks on Dangerous. I think Overall Dangerous is his best album accross the board. There is not ONE weaker song.

the other day I was giving each song from Off The Wall to Invincible a grade from 1.00-5.00 . Each album had at least ONE song that was not a perfect 5 in my opinion. Dangerous was the only album I could find that I could not give lower than a 5 on each track..

No MJ song I gave lower than a 4.2, Most were 5's. But some landed at 4.8 etc.. Dangerous I could not give anything else but a 5.
