About a year ago there was a very robust debate about MJ and mozart similarites. This tweeked my interest to go out and buy the recommended video called Amadeus. I liked it and I did see much similarity, but the film stopped at the appearance of Mozarts ghostly dad on the stage, and I haven't been able to see the rest of the film. The video menu says return to film amd there is a hand with a reel. I don't know what happened to the rest of the video or if there is some button for me to press to get back to the film, or if I bought a faulty video. I wonder if anyone knows what I am taking about.
I just checked Utube and realise that I am missing half of the film. Please, somebody help me.

You should look out for the Amadeus: Director's Cut DVD. Haven't really seen the flick myself but I can agree that there are many similarites between Mike and Mozart...

I also see similarities between them but Amadeus isn't a very reliable source.
The movie was filled with terrible inaccuracies about his life and his relationship with Salieri. I even did a paper on it a couple of years ago.

I first watched Amadeus in my General Music class at school and I loved it. I loved it so much that i went out and bought it. And I did see the similarities between Michael and Mozart. Mozart like Michael according to the movie was a genius at his work and had a child like quality him.

Yeah, that is a common aspect to the two. That they both were known for being highly curious and child-like in their behavior. Both obviously musical geniuses. Mozart a genius of classical music, Michael a genius of modern music.

Michael and Amadeus Mozart are really the same class, i mean the are both Musical Geniuses....and they really had hard to fight in their lifes-_-

I'm proud to be from Austria, where Mozart cames from^_^
But I'm very sad too because of the Way people treated Mozart when he was a life....no that he is dead, everybody praise him!
Its just like Michaels situation:mello:

True. I was shocked to see the way they buried him. It looked like a paupers grave. Why didn't some of his rich friends contributed to his funeral^_^

wow i wrote it about 4 yrs ago and that was the last time that i saw the movie so i can't remember too much.
about Mozart's behavior they really do say he was childlike but not this childISH guy.
The whole drama between Mozart and Salieri and about how Salieri had conspired against him and had wanted him killed was not true. It was just added for the drama of the story. They were never really close to begin with.

gee if I find the paper I will definitely add a much better analysis than just this tidbit of info lol

oh and on another note. I got to meet Tom Hulce who played Amadeus just last year because i've seen his 8 time tony winning musical Spring Awakening 6 times...but that's just cuz i got in for free 4 of those times lol He's a really nice guy and looks REALLY different from the way he did in the movie. He could be a totally different person lol

Thanks for the Info. The guy that played Salieri looked so much older than mozart in the film, yet he was supposed to be just 6 years older:)
