Does anyone know which interview from before the Bad era where Michael said that he always tells the truth even when he's not supposed to????
I have the Billboard mag from around '84 where it mentions that MJ didnt do interviews because he's so open and truthful with his answers that he doesn't want to leave himself out there to be interpreted by the interviewer, or something like that ( i can give the direct quote when I go home for spring break :) tomorrow and I can read the exact words.
But I remember a quote or something that MJ said that he tells the truth even when he's not supposed to...... anyone know where that's from????

Hmmm...never heard that quote before. Curious to see if anyone recognises it! :yes:
 
Michael said that in his interview with Rolling Stone Magazine from 1983. Here's the exact quote.

"If I talk, I say what's on my mind, and it can seem strange to other peoples' ears. I'm the kind of person who will tell it all, even though it's a secret. And I know that things should be kept private."

What's interesting about this quote is how true it is. Michael said in this same interview that the above reason is why he doesn't like to give interviews. And it's proven true over the years that Michael will speak about what he really believes in and it has gotten him in to heaps of trouble. And how he observed how what he thinks is strange to other people. Michael knew, even then, how people would react to his view on life and I think the reason he has always been afraid to talk is because of the fear that people would attack him and lambast him for his perceptions. He knows he doesn't think like most other people and he knew how dangerous that was for him. But he's an honest person, he really is, he's honest with his emotions, and he just talks.

I was just gonna post the one quote,
I have the 'Billboard' mag from July 21, 1984 titled "The Saga of Michael Jackson"

btw- if you ever have a chance to get this mag- GET IT! I think it's my fave MJ mag! The whole thing is dedicated to MJ, there's articles and quotes from other famous ppl and notes of congrats to mj, there are great color pics and they even have order forms for white gloves and other MJ clothing! It's taller and wider than most mags, and there's about 70 pages! Honestly, it's a grrreat mag and it has ALOT of MJ in it, and really good articles!!!!!!

The part I was gonna post was this:

"Quincy Jones marvels at Michael's professionalism. Berry Gordy simply calls him simply "the greatest performer alive."
There's alot of acclaim and expectations to place on the shoulders of a 25-year-old, especially someone who exudes such a delicate, Bambi-like shyness away from the concert stage.
