Michael Jackson Nomination 2010 Nobel Peace Prize

People sign this, forget about the rules...rules are human made and can be changed if enough people want it!!

yea... they won't award it to gandhi as well ....

nobel prize doesn't give awards posthumously. but they will give the award to those who haven't earned it.

i'm guessing this is in regard to obama?

from what's been said by the nobel committee they don't just give out awards for achievement but also to encourage which is mainly what he got his for.

there was plenty of time for Michael Jackson to be nominated for an award and for fans to petition for his inclusion while he was alive, the fact that no one did is the real injustice.

Actually Michael Jackson has already been nominated two times for the nobel peace prize (while he was alive) once in 98 and once in 2003.

Many fans here DID do that.

As much as MJ did for the world, I don't think it would be appropriate for him to win a Peace Prize.

I don't unerstand.

His main message in everything he did was love, L.O.V.E.

Everywhere he went, he wore an armband reminding him of all the suffering children in the world.

He's in the Guinness Book of World Records for most charities supported by an artist.

And some charity he does, people don't even know about it since he tries doing it in secret.

He's helped countless of unfortuante children throughout his life.

So many times, he's done speaches about the lack of love in the planet, resulting in chaos.

He has recieved many awards of being a great humanitarian, the one in 2002, and that award by Ronald Regan for setting a good example for the youth of America by saying beat it to violence.

It goes on and on.....

I'm not saying MJ did nothing for the world, but there are people out there that are doing things "in the field" that are far more deserving than MJ. Wearing an armband, writing a song, or donating money to a charity are great things to do and I'm not diminishing that. But there are others that could be awarded it before MJ were to get such an honor. Please don't take it that I'm dissing MJ because I'm not. He has done more than the average person has.

They are not gonna change the rules just for a pop singer. Especially not one with allegations looming over their public image. It would make a total mockery of their committee to just change the rules overnight for MJ. Like Eric said there are plenty of people who deserve it over Michael. People that are actually eligible to be nominated in the first place.
