Interesting story about the shows from the "inside"

For those of you speculating about Michael wearing sunglasses, please don't.
There's many reasons performers do that.

Great performers are ultra sensitive people. They sense everything hundred fold compare to us mere mortals. With Michael it was even worst because of his chronic ailments (vitilago and lupus). So protecting his eyes from the lights was one reason.

But the main reason is performing in front of a "black hole".

It's much easier to concentrate and get the feel of your performance when you CAN'T see anything in front of you. Much less distracting.

First you say don't speculate and then you speculated yourself
Funny!

awww comon, when i finally thought i found a good person in micheal's entourage, he turns out bad too?? i'm talking about kenny, he seemed to love michael very much and i feel very confused after reading all this...

I'm not speculating. It's a known fact that Michael was sensitive to bright lights/sunlights in the later years.

Although I'm not a performer myself I've dated a few and my first husband was a musician/singer/bass and guitar player in a famous band. And sometimes when I'd try to give my advice the band would call me Yoko in a joking way.

Just in case you're too young to know who Yoko Ono is; she was married to John Lennon and was often called out in the tabloids for breaking up the Beatles because of her meddling.

Anywho, it's how I know about wearing sunglasses indoors. It's not just for show.

when u still have a contract and are buddy buddy w/ two of the people that seem the most conspicuous, then u urself will fall into that category. i personally believe this is true. everyone that had info already went to police so chillax a bit on that one. but other than that, the end result is the man is gone.

Michael died because some incompetent doctor gave him things he should not have and then left Michael alone in the room. He didn't even call 911 right away, did CPR on a bed when you are not suppose etc. He is still not in jail or anything?

I am sure rehearsals didn't go smooth all the time but I am sure they had good days too. I am sure Michael did put pressure on himself. He worked hard and put everything into this. I believe he could have pulled this off. As others stated he wasn't going to do 50 shows back to back. A couple a week and then a few months break and then finish the rest. He didn't have to travel and he would be in the same place.

I don't know what the truth is but that Michael is gone and he isn't coming back and if there was mistreatment by anyone towards him then they need to come forward because it's the right thing to do.

I seriously love the movie cause its Michael, but something was not ok those days before Michael died, he was continously coming and going to a clinic, all the time, but I DO LOVE the rehearsal film, cause of Michael, but if they were pressuring him, im sure that one was Randy Phillips, that man is sick, i heard an interview after MJ passing and he dares to imitate Michael's voice, seemed so disrespectful.... I dont like Randy Phillips and i dont like that Travis Payne either, how these two ever thought that they could push Michael Jackson to wear the clothes other designer than Michael Bush (which was the one MJ wanted, cause is his friend) they completely did what they feel it was right for their own interests, not what the main artist wanted, I never liked Randy Phillps, and that Payne makes me wanna puke, sorry, but thats the true, hes totally promoting himself, and he sooooo, well you know...

I AGREE, Michael DIED, someone will pay. its the right thing to do

Whoever wrote this did so after the film and IS Lieing!!!!!!!!! The bit about Michael being forced to use the in ear moniters is funny, whens this being posted on TINI? especially the bit about the in ears, such a lie ha ha

To be honest, it was my concern since day one. I was worried that there was not enough time to prepare everything and I was worried deep down in my heart, but whenever I'd try to voice it I was almost shot by these who thought I was crazy.
I believe what was said in that post, I truly do and it breaks me

Why do you believe it? The thing about the in ears is clearly a lie, Michael didn't want them so he didn't wear them, clear as! And the show would have been ready, it was not that far from being complete

By the by, I have seen many artists on stages that are struggling with those ear monitors, they have the tendency to pop out of the ears. So that people on stage are not really lovestruck with those things is very common and nothing unusual.

we should all stop with this negative things!Michael looked amazing in the movie,he was secure and a perfectionist like always!love you MJ!

@Ericmjfan: Thank you so much for posting your story!

I've watched This Is It twice now and planned to watch it a third time, but due to your conversation with this person I have now decided to NOT watch it again.

I loved watching Michael work his ass off and be the BEST in the world (what for one wonders...) but was in pain thinking the whole time that he very probably hadn't slept for weeks(!), people around him were not working to his satisfaction when he was giving his all and then people acting rude to someone who behaved like JESUS (!) and I wished at times would have just told them all to go to hell!

Michael was the last person on the planet to deserve this...
Life is UNFAIR :(

-This is very interesting. According to this person, there was absolutely no way the concert was going to be ready for opening night on July 13th, and everyone kenw it. He asked me the following "when you saw the movie, you do realize right that they had to show the best scenes, the best performances, right ?" I said "yes, of course" to which he replied "so do you realize that what you have seen, most of it came from June 24th, 23rd and 22nd ?

this isn't exactly true. Michael did not attend rehearsal on Monday June 22nd. the first day at the Staples Center for MJ was 23rd & 24th June only. alot of the footage used is from rehearsals at the LA Forum from the beginning of June to June 19th. you can clearly see the interior of the Forum for a good majority of it.

The footage shown wasn't just from June 23 and 24. There were other days and it didn't always look like the same place.

Whoever wrote this did so after the film and IS Lieing!!!!!!!!!

it's pretty clear that it was written using stuff in the movie in order to seem real. ridiculous!! by the way, isn't MrFuture the poster who loved to portray Michael as a junkie?

WOW thank you for sharing this. If to be really honest, I think it may be true. I never like deadlines myself, but my things in my life are very simple. So I can imagine what a deadline like MJ had can cause. Yes, I saw the movie, saw it twice. I enjoyed it, I don't have any complaints to MJ's voice, to his dance steps, but I really realise what something was wrong with production. Common, is it simple to make a robot with images showing on it's body's surface? I think it needs a lot of brains ant time to create such a robot. And that buldoser in Earth Song...
I really hope true will surface soon...
I think the true problem everything happened is this crazy deadline...

Dont just assume something as true because you dont yet have an answer, We dont know how far the show was ahead, and about the robot (Lightman) It was finished the day MJ died, Kenny said so himself.

Most of the stuff is left til last minute, Michael has done that since the Bad Tour, Kenny also mentioned in interviews how the props and stuff were starting to come together, another week and I believe we would have had a full show, or close to full

Michael was well in control of This Is It, and posts like this and TINI are painting some Junkie, anorexic, insecure person, Michael isn't superhuman, but when it comes to business he has the balls!!! Let it Sizzle, and we will find the truth!

Thanks for the info, I didn't know Kenny said Lightman was ready. I haven't drew any conclusions yet, I am still searching for the answers. :)

go to youtube and watch dangerous rehersals..

MJ is not wearing any of the costumes, skips / forgets some lyrics, mumbles or hums some others, interacts with kenny, asks what was the next thing he was supposed to do etc..

all of that means that it is a rehersal and not a finished polished product.. similar to this is it..

That's why it's important to remember that these were rehearsals only. He was saving his voice, saving his energy and all that. We can only imagine how the show would have been.

I'm not going to sit here and automatically assume that they are lying. Why? because it isn't fair and they are not here in this thread to defend themselves. Also there have been many times where fans have passed information on and they have gotten attacked for it and called all sorts of names etc and then later it turns out it was true but they aren't given any apology. I know some people are basing their responses on the movie footage but let's be honest, the movie has been edited, they wouldn't show moments where there was proper animosity because they were told to make the film as positive as possible and not cast any negative light on things so of course if there was something going on then of course it would not be evident in the film.

I don't know if this story is true or not because I wasn't there, I was not at the rehearsals but I'm keeping an open mind because some of it does sound plausible.

I've read the whole thread and yours stands out to me. I agree with you 100% It shocks me the way certain fans treat other fans sometimes. It's fine to have different opinions but accusing other MJ fans of lying when they have chosen to share something they consider to be important information is really disrespectful and uncalled for. :(

I am not sure what to make of this story. It almost seems Karen Faye -inspired as it puts Karen and Michael Bush at the center of Michael's universe as she does on her page. I could be wrong but just a thought. Also a lot of the words seem to come straight from tabloid articles and some tabloid TV reports.

I am sure as with any job everyday was not a perfect day but we all have those. I agree that this probably should be in the Tabloid section because no names are attached to these "inside" comments. This seems to fall in line with how TMZ and the other tabloids provide information, with unnamed "sources". Just my opinion.

do not believe these lies Karen is no different from the Rabbie and Chobra ...liers.

this is it wins...MJ forever.

I just don't know what to believe anymore......I'm SO sick of all of this. I just wish I could go back in time and tell him to rest and take care of his kids. After the trial I was just glad that he was safe, and never expected him to try and tour again. I was worried as soon as I heard 10 turned into 50........why, just why did these people feel the need to be pushing and always trying to make money off of him. *Sigh* I just miss him and want him back. This shouldn't have turned out this way.........

This is ridiculous.

People are not giving MJ enough credit. He is a master craftsman. He is genius, he is doing what he does best, what he knows inside out. To say he was insecure and unsure is, in my opinion, BS. If he seems all too humble it's because he is thinking 'ok you're not doing it right, it's gotta be better, but i'm not going to come down hard on you'. It's in his nature.

Michael Jackson has been there, done that, MANY MANY times before. This isn't the first time he was involved in a stage production work scenario. Why would people think things all of a sudden happened in backstage in This Is It and have not happened before.

Give MJ credit. He is the King, he's been at the very top, and to me he looked very chilled and not taking crap from anyone (not that anyonre would give him crap). If he seems uneasy i think it's just because he was frustrated maybe sometimes that people around him were not quite at the level he wanted them to be, or just making mistakes that only he heard.

Besides, the dancers and musicians, and him, looked to have a lot of practise behind them and looked polished - apart from him not giving 100% at times (which is normal).

Also - how many times would such a production need to be run through full dress rehearsals? I wouldn't think it's as many as people assume. Being in London and having 2 weeks, they could've rehearsed with full dress rehearsal the whole show in its entirety every couple of days and it would've been enough..

Kenny even says there were doubts the show, and Michael would be ready, but things were coming together in the 2 days before Michael's...yeah....

This show was going to blow anything before it out the water. Too many experienced people working on it to let it slip.

Enjoy the movie people, focus on the positives - because the negatives even if they may exist are simply commonplace in this industry and are insignificant.

MJ takes no crap, MJ was ready. I love the movie.

Voice of reason :)
