I could find no place to put this in, so I made a new thread instead.

I don't know what to say.

Michael Jackson Investigation May Not Produce Charges For Months

Sources say complexity of homicide case is causing delay.

It's been nearly six months since Michael Jackson's death, and police investigating the case say it could be several more months before any charges in the homicide are filed.

The Los Angeles Times reported that due to the complex nature of the investigation and the large amount of evidence to sift through, including medical data that have required the help of outside experts, prosecutors don't expect to file any charges in the 50-year-old pop icon's death before 2010.

An unidentified source told the paper that any decision on criminal charges is "months rather than weeks away." Sources who spoke to the Times anonymously due to the ongoing nature of the investigation said that the evidence is being sorted through by Los Angeles Police Department detectives, prosecutors and outside medical advisors in an attempt to determine whether charges should be filed.

To date, Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, has been identified in search warrants as a suspect in a manslaughter investigation and appears to be the main focus of the inquiry. Murray, 56, has reportedly told investigators that he injected Jackson with the powerful surgical anesthetic propofol prior to his death. Coroner's officials have said that Jackson died from "acute propofol intoxication," and the presence of lethal levels of that drug in his system combined with other sedatives led to a declaration that his death was a homicide. The official autopsy results have not yet been released, pending the completion of the police investigation. Murray told investigators that chronic insomniac Jackson was dependent on propofol to sleep and that he was trying to wean the pop star off the drug.

Murray's attorney has said that the doctor did not administer anything to the singer that "should have" caused his death and that his client has been cooperating with authorities. In addition to police searches at Murray's Texas and Las Vegas medical clinics and his Las Vegas home, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office called in Murray's girlfriend, Nicole Alvarez, to testify before a grand jury panel as part of the investigation.
The Times reported that with no suspects in custody, sources familiar with the Jackson investigation have compared it to the probe involving the death of actress Lana Clarkson, in which prosecutors took more than a year before filing murder charges against Phil Spector. Given the high-profile nature of the Jackson probe, prosecutors are also reportedly under pressure to compile the strongest possible case before announcing any charges.

Hi Kasume,

I did read it somewhere else here on MJJC before, I believe it was under news and happenings. A bit disheartening isn't ? But I keep the faith that there will be charges and a trial. I hope ALL the people involved will be charged and punished but I'm not sure that will ever happen.

Thanks for the post......this really is quite bothersome...months away from anything that could even possibly lead to criminal charges....However even though I want justice for Michael speedily...I really want the LAPD to take their time and make sure that they turn over every rock and get ALL responsible for Michael's death...Michael just cannot of died in vein...someone has to pay and the person at the top of that list is Murray....I am sure others also need to be accountable....So i am willing to be patient and wait for the charges...it is a difficult thing to do I know...but as I stated Michael deserves justice.

It feels like this investigation will take forever... . Sick.

I just don't understand why it will take that long if SO MANY people are investigating.....we have the dea, lapd, fbi, a murder expert, and much more investigating......tha's a lot of people but why still so long???

It's just the longer I wait, the more I feel nothing will happen.

But MOST IMPORTANTLY, the more I feel no one will know the TRUTH (except us).

guys, we can't let anyone get away!!

I think the individuals are looking at different aspects of the case. One group is looking at Murray, another group looking at all of MJs drs who may have played a part. Still another group looking at the drug itself. Still others trying to piece together MJs life (and as we can see from this website that is difficult to do as MJ was so multifaceted).

So I think even though there are many involved, the case is so compex, they just want to amke sure that when charges are filed that all the ducks are in a row. Since there is no double jeapordy, the worst thing to do is rush in to a case, not having info together just because you did not take enough time to do it (when all you had was time to do it right) and then the case falls flat. That would be bogus.

I think because this case is high profile, they are taking their time. Personally, I agree with others here--take however long you want IF you go after the right people--so I'm with you kasume--we won't let them get away with it--if we have to, we will band together with other boards to be a force--with the fanbase that Michael has--it would definitely be a force--something they could not ignore. We will get justice for Michael--I promised him--and if I have to crawl to LA to do it--I will--LOL.

I know kasume. :(
The truth will out we have to hope for a fair and thorough investigation. :bugeyed
Karma will play a part as already has been doing. I wish no harm on anyone but just want to see justice, for our angel MJ. :agree:
It's better that it takes longer, that way the truth and full story can be fine toothed combed.........
Bless sweetest MJ now at rest...............us his fans and bro's and sis' just want truth and justice.
xxx

I'm just worried if we wait all this time only to find out they DON'T file any charges. Because I keep reading about them DECIDING IF they should file charges....

so what if they dont decide to, that would not be good.

but you're right, karma, what goes around comes around. it's just that michael has never recieved the justice he ever deserved.

I agree with what others have said about the authorities wanting to do their due diligence. I pray that is the reason. I am keeping the faith. We have to keep the faith!!! We can't give up. Let's stay strong and keep pushing. There are plenty Michael's fans and others who want justice for Michael just like we do here. I log onto various sites and I see the movement of wanting to get justice for Michael. We need to keep pushing and keep the faith!

As per Michael:

"...I know that keepin' the faith
Means never givin' up on love
But the power that love has
To make it right

Makes it
Makes it right

Keep the faith..."

Sorry for repeating myself, but I feel very strongly about this. Hang in there everyone.

Peace and love,

"I'll never let you part, for you're always in my heart..."

I understand your feelings completely. I myself have also felt this way before...

However, as someone elese has stated, this Investigation is probably going into various directions due to the abundance of leads and information the investigating authorities were giving by those who have valid proof of specific and certain things in relation to the Murder Investigation.

In other words: The authorities have a Legal Responsibility to investigate EVERY Lead( person and motive), they were given.

And they were given more than just info about a doctor or doctors and prescription meds. Remember, some family members have made it public, how they believe Michael was murdered for the Sony ATV/Catalogue. Just imagine how much data they have to go through when investigating this angle?

The crooks aint gonna make it so easy. Many have covered their tracks well.

The only thing that severely bothers me about the whole waiting process is the fact the full toxicology results are still sealed. I think the information we do have will begin to make alot more sense when we see the numbers from the test results which up until now have not been released.

Don't worry everybody........

There have been cases in the past that have taken years to finally produce any criminal charges against somebody........

......If the police don't get him, the millions of MJ fans will make his life hell for the rest of his life..........

......If the police AND MJ fans don't get him......then God certainly will!!!!!!

I am ready to wait. They can take their time as long as they investigate thoroughly. And since it's already been six months and can take more time, I believe the case is not simple and we might find out something we didn't expect to find at all, when it is over. If they decided no one is to blame, I think they would have announced it long ago. But since they are still investigating, I think something is there and they are collecting evidence to be ready for the court.

Exactly!! As long as we stand together injustice has no chance.
United we stand.Divided we fall.

I really hope you are right. I read on some websites, in the Dutch language, that Conrad Murray is no longer a suspect but there is a criminal case still pending. Huh ???? I totally don't get this at all and I'm utterly confused and bewildered.
I felt so certain that justice would be served and now I'm not so sure anymore. Maybe this is all misleading information put out there purposely for some reason ?

no one would really know for sure since the lapd haven't said a single thing for a while now. they wouldnt know.

i agree. like someone else on this board said, if they have found it was really just an honest simple accident like the doctor said himself, it would not take this long, and everything would be much simpler.

And Michael's lawyer during 2005, Brian Oxman said two days ago that it is taking so long because there is "so much evidence" that they are still trying to put it all together.

look at all the stories murray has told they ahve to cver all angels and every excuse he will come up with when the police set out their argument

I have a feeling that the Jackson family will seek justice if the police fail to do so.....

They've always said Michael was murdered so they won't stop until they see justice.

I am not sure about the whole family. LaToya maybe will but Janet is more interested in her own business unless something has changed. Who knows? Katherine will do it for sure but she is very old , the same about Joe. I hope MJ brothers will seek justice for Michael. Fans have to help too. Without public attention involved in this case you cannot brake those walls.

People need to be charged.

This was a death which not only should have NEVER happened, but a kind of death that not even the victim expected, at least not at that time. I mean, just look at TII. If one looks at him, it's as if he 'knew' he was going to hit that O2 stage. Just look at him, the smiles, hardwork and dedication, he "knew" it.

Although, Michael did fear that his death was going to end tragically, and that someone was out to get him.

And if no one gets charged, I guess it will be to make Michael look like he threw all his hardwork and dedication away for everything he loved, Like a fool. Because that's what most want us to believe, right? That he was a fool.
