Yes weve discussed this several times in this forum.
There was never only 10 shows .. 10 shows would never pay for the production
of the concert let alone Michael and everyone who was hired ..

The initial contract that we have shows MJ singed on for 31 shows
with more to be added as demand required up to over 50 with Mjs approval
not sure the amount

10 shows were all that was promoted to test the waters (demand)
it was overwhelming so they already had the 31 fufilled ..

There was never only 10 shows .. the contract states that clearly
even I could understand it _ Michael new at least 31 ..

Okay, thanks. But it's a curious thing that more than one person is saying 10. I'd only heard 10 and 50. I didn't hear about 31. Is it possible that MJ's sig was "forged" at any time? I used to work at a place were a supervisor's assistant used a use a sig stamp (when the boss wasn't available)

Just thought this was interesting and wanted to point it out. Starting at 0:31, the interviewer starts saying, "You told us on thursday that you were putting ten on sale..." And at that moment, Phillips clears his throat, a sign of nervousness. You may need to see it twice to see the side of his face near his collarbone, and under his chin move.

 
I think you're misunderstanding what the reporter asks and how it's answered, the reporter makes clear that there were 30 dates, he says "you were putting 10 on sale, you set aside 30, it's now 50 ". Meaning AEG's initial idea was to only sell out tickets for 10 dates at a time, and put the other's aside, and repeat the process until the all the shows are sold out, AEG didn't plan on concerts selling out like they did...So they basically had to put the other 30 on sale at the same time and add on an additional 20 dates.
 
I wasn't talking about that.

What I did was, I pointed out Randy's clearing his throat as soon as the interviewer mentions the ten shows on sale. Reading his body language, he is nervous about that.

It's not suspicious when you understand the question...10 shows were not going to be the only shows Michael was going to do, it seems like that's what you're trying to imply.
 
I agree with Kasume...he looked very nervous at the asking of that question...then he goes on to say MICHAEL ASKED...How Many shows do I have to do???.......If Michael had signed on to do 50 shows...dont you think he would of known about 50 shows????...I mean really now its common sense.

You are absolutely right. I never thought of that.
 
He didn't sign on to do 50, he signed to do 30 with a 18 show minimum. They didn't know the demand would be so high, so they had to add on 20 more shows and presumably restructure the contract.
 
That's not what DiLeo said. DiLeo said they talked about doing 50 shows at the very beginning.

The contract did say that - but there were a couple of odd things about that contract. For one thing - the date was blacked out. Why? Could be innocent, but that was odd. I thought there was something odd about the signatures also, is what I remember. Also Grace said something that was reported, that he didn't read the contract.

Does anyone have a link to that contract?

I'm not going by DiLeo, I'm going by Phillips, this video, this thread, and the contract that is available for viewing online...DiLeo says they spoke of 50 from the beginning, according to the follower fans, that's not true, as Michael was complaining about the amount of shows not being what he originally intended. That coincides with Phillips claim in this video, in that they were initially unaware the demand for Michael would be so high, so that can only mean DiLeo must be misinformed in some way.
 
Doesn't anyone else wonder if that "contract" is even the final draft? The fact that we see no date makes me wonder if this so called contract was really just an early draft. I mean, it says "Agreement," on it and it's on AEG letterhead, and addressed as if it were a letter, not a legal contract. Isn't it possible that this really was just an early draft of their contract...and perhaps we've never seen the final draft? I can't make sense of why the date is blacked out...nothing else makes sense to me, except that this was only one draft of the contract between Michael and AEG.

OR DiLeo is straight up lying for AEG.

I wonder if Peter Lopez was one of the three attorneys that read the contract...if DiLeo is even correct about that.

But wasn't it already clear that the minumum was ten shows? Why didn't DiLeo just answer that?

The minimum was 18 shows, the contract states it, and AEG released a statement after Michael passed, when this issue was still relevant, saying 10 shows isn't the norm for any major artist. You say DiLeo may be lying for AEG, but AEG's claims and DiLeo's conflict each other, which is why I'm quite confused by your argument right now. AEG says the plan was initially 30 shows, put 10 on sale and hold the rest to see what happens, according to Phillips they had to add on 20 more shows due to popular demand. DiLeo states there were 50 shows from the start? While according to many, Michael said it wasn't, in this video Phillips claims it wasn't, so I don't understand how that means DiLeo is lying for AEG.
