totally agree. IS NOT ONE PERSON EITHER FAMILY OR FRIENDS GOING TO HELP MICHAEL AND THE TRUTH AND HIS KIDS IN ALL THIS MESS?
On reflection in agreement with the above LMP has just helped Murray's defence. Another person helping Murray's side AGAIN!

Of COURSE the interview helped Murray's defense. Surely LMP knew there was a trial coming up? This interview wasn't without context, now was it? In that trial, Murray's only defense will probably be to attack Michael's character. LMP played right into that, with Oprah's guided questions. Now, some people will think that Michael's 1995 collapse was due to a drug overdose! NO. It was NOT, and his doctor at that time said it was not. And NO, Michael's death and Elvis' were NOT "identical," as LMP said.

LMP had an opportunity here, to really defend Michael, and she did the opposite. If she really loved him, why not help him achieve justice? His children are still HERE, and they deserve justice for their father.

She said Michael told her there were people out to kill him! Notice that Oprah left that one right alone? If LMP truly loved Michael, (and now wants to play the grieving widow, 15 years and two subsequent marriages later), why not give him strong support? I'll keep her on the list (a long one) of people in Michael's life that were not worthy of his trust.

So Lisa is basically saying, "MJ I'm leaving you because of all of the people you have around you. I can't stay married to you because I don't want to have to deal with helping you or being concerned with the problems in your everyday life. But, I will follow you all over the world and sleep with you even though you' re married and I am engaged."

"You see, what I want from you is something physical. It's strong enough for me to chase this physical thing, but not strong enough for me to try to help you mentally and emotionally. It's too complicated and I just don't feel like it. But, if you do not give me what I want, how I want it, I am going to tell anyone who will listen that you are a mistake and a manipulator who used me in our marriage to gain points in the public's eyes. Oh, but now that you are dead, I am going to forgive you for all that I did and paint you as a person who had a drug problem so I can make myself feel better, because really this is about you ultimately being unable to pick me over your career and give me your undivided attention. So I'm admitting my mistakes, but it is all your fault. And since you died, I figured this out and needed to forgive you. I forgive you MJ."

Is that a joke or are you being serious?

Re-watch the interview again and even pause it in places to take in what you're listening to. Maybe it's extreme hatred and an inability for understanding but you cannot surely think that after watching the interview.

Then again we are all individuals... oh well.

His behaviour? But in what way? And also....does she believe in MJ's innocence or not? It was never really clear to me.

The fact that he lets children in his bed. In all honesty I think Oprah thinks MJ is guilty judging by the way she treated him during the trials.

I'm not sure what she thinks of him really, but that's just my guess since she can't stop talking about him.

So sad, but so true.

If this is coincidence, then I'm mother Teresa.

Oprah still believes it, she'll never change. And after Lisa's answer on the subject, no f* wonder.

And there you have it. Thank you. :clapping:

I've watched the interview several times now, and that is EXACTLY what she was saying. There was no accountability for HER mistakes, at all. (And yeah, I'll just BET he was "intoxicating.")

Primarily, what I got from this interview is how it plays right into Murray's defense. NO, Michael's death was NOT "identical" to Elvis'. IMO, this was incredibly damaging, and she should have been absolutely silent, at least until after the criminal trial. I despair of human-nature, sometimes. . . .

... Seriously? She said she made this interview because of the guilt she's feeling. She said she made mistakes in the past. She said she regrets leaving him out. But obviously that's not important right? The ENTIRE interview was LMP asking for forgiveness from someone, anyone, because obviously the guilt is tearing her apart. HOWEVER, we also need to understand MJ made mistakes too, just like in any marriage.

Honestly guys, if your spouse told you to either start making babies, or there's another one waiting to take your place.. What would YOU do?

Oh and one final thing, LMP has the right to ask for special attention cause she was .. you know.. his wife :S

Finally, if what a lot of people close to Michael say is true (Michael's own family, close friends and LMP) then getting to Michael to intervene and "be there" for him would have been terribly difficult.

I always had a hard time, when "some" folks say: "we couldn't get to him."

Only because his MOTHER never had that problem. She had free rein with Michael and if certain folks couldn't get to him, in my opinion, it was because he just didn't want to be bothered with certain folks, whether they were "so-called" friends or family.

If "some" folks knew how to take NO for an answer, they may have had better access. Now that's just MY opinion.

It must have been difficult for Michael to decide if a family member and/or friend was calling because they just wanted to say HI, or if they were calling because they wanted "something" from him.

(I'm sure there were a lot of PRESSURE calls and visits regarding that Family Reunion, i.e. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO IT MICHAEL, it will be good for the family. I remember Janet saying that they were STILL working on the only family member that was not on board.)

His mother? Dude if Katherine shot him in the knee cap with a handgun just because she was bored he would STILL not cut her out. i don't see how Janet, for instance, would bother him for business. Yet she was also cut out in the last years of his life.

I'm crying. I feel awful for Michael. My poor honey  One thing that bothers me is that why do people, including Lisa, suddenly feel the need to give a million interviews about him? Everyone who loved Michael - family, friends or fans - were affected by his death and it changed us somehow but why the need to exploit him? I'm only a fan and I learnt alot about myself, Michael and life after his death and now I rarely even bring his name up to my BEST FRIENDS simply because I think he is too dear, too precious, too amazing to be talked about.

In 2005 The old actor who took Michael to the hospital during the trial , also said that Michael asked him many times do you love me?....he also said that Michael kept telling him :"I love you , I love you " the whole conversation and he felt that MJ was feeling better when he said back " I love you too Michael"... MJ during the trial needed the word I love you , because Love is all he wanted to have through out his life and career !

i think the word love to MJ has another meaning , for him it means friendship and believing...maybe she misunderstood him when he asked about love at this conversation !

I agree. He needed all the love and support he could get.

So Lisa is basically saying, "MJ I'm leaving you because of all of the people you have around you. I can't stay married to you because I don't want to have to deal with helping you or being concerned with the problems in your everyday life.

I totally agree. She was selfish and nothing that she can say will change my mind. What is done is done and what she done was selfish.

I think for some of you it would not have mattered what LMP felt and said in the interview - you were going to judge her negatively anyway. But do you truly not believe that there is not real love and grief in her heart? That was clear as day for me.

You definitely aren't wrong in thinking this but using his mother as an example is probably the easiest way to discredit the people who say he was difficult to get to. His love for his mother is tremendous, and out of everyone in his life, she was most likely the only person to be guaranteed access to Michael regardless of what was going on in his life.

The reasons for Michael blocking certain people out of his life are probably very understandable and credible, but I dont doubt for a second that Michael would have been extremely picky and careful with who he let into his world at times.

Is that a joke or are you being serious?

Re-watch the interview again and even pause it in places to take in what you're listening to. Maybe it's extreme hatred and an inability for understanding but you cannot surely think that after watching the interview.

Then again we are all individuals... oh well.

Don't condescend to me. Please do not do it. And don't assume I don't have an understanding of what is going on simply because I do not agree with you or see things the way you see them. I have a good understanding of what was going on there. Her interview only confirmed for me what I thought was going on all along. I don't like people who play me for a fool. Or people who will look you dead in your face and stretch the truth to give it simblance of reality.

We are all individuals and we will all look at things in different ways. I don't hate Lisa. I don't think you can really hate someone you do not know. And, she does not command enough of my thoughts outside this limited scope for me to have a hatred for her. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Becasue I do understand that there are often underlying reasons why people do what they do. But the reasons she gave were not enough for me. The means does not justify the end.

Don't forget something she said in the interview and other people too. If things didn't go his way, he's ice you out or you would be gone. I think if she really tried to get rid of the yes-men and vampires/leeches around him, and he found out, i think there's a big chance Lisa would have been 'out' . So i think even if she had decided to choose for Michael and really go against this bad bad people...i don't think it would have worked out sadly.

I didn't like LMP's previous interviews as much as the next MJ fan however I think she cleared some of that up in the Oprah interview.

Regardless if you believe her or not, it's really not THAT hard to fathom IF you can try to look at it through her eyes, as she describes the separation. If you step back for a moment, and pretend that this story wasn't about Michael and Lisa Marie and you imagine that they were another couple, the distancing and all the negative talk she gave can be somewhat understood. It's not nice, do not get me wrong - it's ugly, but at the same time, probably natural.

If you want to believe her story for a moment, take in the following:
- The majority of their marriage was great, loving and above all NORMAL.
- They had trust between each other - She felt he really opened up with her and could tell her anything.
- She accepted certain things in their partnership that were probably unique to Michael due to his massive fame. She could deal with it mostly.
- She was intoxicated by Michael. She was completely wrapped up in his world.
- She mentions a few times that some of her greatest times in her life were when she would be there for him and HELP him with certain issues.

then...

- Increasingly as time went on she would notice certain things such as the drugs he was on.
- People around Michael (which she named "vampires") were becoming more predominant in his life.
- She felt "disposable" by Michael at times (i.e the Debbie Rowe child bearing issue).

There was more and it's in greater depth when she talks about it however you can see that when the decision was made to walk away from Michael, she would have been extremely hurt and as a sort of "defensive" mechanism, would have felt very bitter towards him. How many separated couples do you know of that literally HATE each other even though the reason for their own separation was rather minor in comparison? She would have lashed out and said some incredibly nasty things, as any normal person would do. It's okay for us to sit back and view it from the outside and wonder how she could possibly say such hurtful things, but they were clearly in love and she never got over it.

Finally, if what a lot of people close to Michael say is true (Michael's own family, close friends and LMP) then getting to Michael to intervene and "be there" for him would have been terribly difficult. She is only reacting NOW, as anyone would in her own situation - guilt. There are close fans and many other celebrity friends who have said they wish they had of spoken up, but like any tragedy, you always hold some kind of blame and wish you could go back and try to fix what you didn't think would happen.

I'm not on anyones side i'm merely just trying to see things from a neutral standpoint. I hope some can appreciate that.

Great post, I love it when people take a neutral standpoint.

i don't see how Janet, for instance, would bother him for business. Yet she was also cut out in the last years of his life.

I'm not sure where YOU were, but Janet is on record with Ellen AND Larry King talking about opening for her brothers and how they were doing conference calls, working on ONE family member who was not on board.

Her quote: WE are still working on him!

He apparently was not in "denial" when she was having all of those conference calls.

Nothing will change the fact that it was Murray, a doctor, who gave Michael Propofol and killed him by his stupid actions. A doctor should know that he couldn't give an addict what the addict wants to. Even if the alleged addict is called Michael Jackson. That's the responsability of a doctor.
So they can try to portray him as a junkie as much as the want, but the fact remains that Murray killed him. Period.
Oh, and they also will have a problem with the autopsy report which says Michael wasn't.

That's what I'm hoping... And if Murray knowingly gave an alleged 'addict' drugs wouldn't he be charged with that?, like Anna Nicole's doctors were.. Anna's doctors are denying she was an addict at all. They claim you're not an addict if you're being treated for pain.. So I don't think Murray wants to go down as a doctor who fed an addict. If anything he will be denying that MJ was an addict. He said to AEG that MJ was healthy and fine to do the shows. So how is he going to change that?

you need to understand that all this addict talk is why we haven't seen a murder 2 charge in the case. It's also kinda similar that none of Anna's doctors are charged with murder charge either.

nothing can change the fact about what Murray did but all those drug talk is damaging in regards of the charges brought as well as the possible outcome.

Of COURSE the interview helped Murray's defense. Surely LMP knew there was a trial coming up? This interview wasn't without context, now was it? In that trial, Murray's only defense will probably be to attack Michael's character. LMP played right into that, with Oprah's guided questions. agreed. According to her, the 95 collapse was the reason she divorced him, because she thought he was doing drugs when the truth is " there were no drugs in his system". being misunderstood by his wife and threatened a Lupus/ vitiligo...victim to make a choice between her and the doctors... traveling with her ex,refused to carry his children...Unbelievable! much worse trashed and abandoned him when he needed support most.

I didn't see this interview as postive, we know how media work, now Michael as "a longtime druggie in denial" was everywhere in the news. Murray must be so thankful to his ex-ex wife and Jackson family.

well maybe that doctor from 1995 will be called to testify for the prosecution

Absolutely. LMP threw Michael under the bus with that one. What concerns me is how so many fans seem to be playing into this now, and I sincerely hope that we can see this very, VERY clearly in terms of the damage the interview caused? LMP said that the 1995 collapse was a "drug-overdose," when it clearly was NOT. That places Michael's alleged drug ABUSE as the reason why LMP left him. LMP said Michael was a "train wreck." That is exactly the defense Murray's attorneys will use.

This will be the only defense Murray has -- to attack Michael's character and to place HIMSELF as the "victim" of a man who was out-of-control with drugs. And that, even though the autopsy report showed differently. Juries tend to be uneducated. That's just the way it works in the U.S. (Those people with high-powered jobs and higher education, can often find ways to evade jury-duty.) Juries are far from perfect, and even though they are charged with looking only at the facts -- emotion and "hunches" play a large part in the verdict.

I'm sure Murray's attorneys are celebrating with champagne right about now. Never doubt that they also read the fan-boards. Good job, guys (mostly. . .. NOT)

Oh boy...

Her reasons for leaving Michael were a little bite more detailed then that, you can't pick individual points she made to paint and overall negative - this is what we call the media out for every time Michael gave an interview. It's like you edited that to suit what you had already thought of her.

The issue of her not having Michael's babies is totally misconstrued. She didn't just deny him babies, she had already had children to her previous husband and didn't want to rush into having more before she was 100% certain it was right for the relationship and herself.

Okay well ive finally seen the interview and my opinion is still the same.

Lisa was alright in the interview and im impressed with how she handled Oprah but I still am disappointed that it took Michaels death for her to realize her fault and for her to be honest. I still question some truth about some things she said and Im not suddently in love with Lisa Marie just because she said nice things about Michael AFTER his death (Like EVERYONE else on the plant has done)... bullish but Im glad she did what she did and hopefully she will get closure. After this, there really aint no need to speak about Michael as far as Lisa Marie is concerned publicly...

well maybe that doctor from 1995 will be called to testify for the prosecution

I think the damage to public opinion is already done, now. No need to call the doctor to testify. He went on public record at the time, in a press conference (which I SAW), saying that there were no drugs in Michael's system. Michael was SICK, ok? Apparently to this day LMP does not know that (didn't see the same press-conference that millions viewed?), or she's lying out her a*** to make herself look better for leaving him when he was SICK?

how I wish Liz Taylor would give an interview and set the record straight. But I don't think she ever will *sigh*

why not answer the question that I posed to you?

Huh? It had already been answered in my original post. And besides what is the point? Throughout the many threads about this interview, I have yet to see you respond to those that enjoyed the interview anyway, so why nitpick my positivity? Stop doing to predictable and piggybacking off those who hated the interview and step up to those that enjoyed it.

But to explain in more detail why I enjoyed it, for once she was honest about everything thrown her way. Her loving words about MJ was great to hear. The comments about how he made her feel and how only him and her father made her feel that way brought a smile to my face. I liked the fact she owns up to her mistakes and admitted she had regrets. I enjoyed the little stories she told about their relationship and the cute things he did. What upsetted me most about the interview was Oprah continously going back to the drug talk. But overall the interview was just heartbreaking.

So bash her all you want, but your sudden quietness yesterday told me and many others, she did well enough.

I suppose all you can do is hope that the prosecution do their job and use people like the Doctor who looked after Michael in 1995, rather then letting the defense use quotes from a TV interview as a basis for the defense.

Luckily public opinion didn't judge the outcome of the 2005 trial, so hopefully Murray doesn't get away with what he did based on part of what LMP says she suspected.
