Re: Exclusive: Michael album credits

Too bad three of those songs are not Michael, yet they are continuing forward because, for some odd reason, everyone seems to think that it is Michael.

People, please, when you get the album, compare the vocals on Hold My Hand(recorded in 2007) to the vocals on the Cascio tracks, also recorded in 2007. They are NOT the same singer! Open your eyes and, in the words of another poster on this same thread, "Put down the damn crack pipe"!

Thanks for posting mkgenie!

Re: Exclusive: Michael album credits

AH AH AH !!!

Michael is not even credited in ANY vocals on BEST OF JOY
He is NOWHERE IN THE VOCALS this IMITATOR lolllllllllllllll

TOTAL FAKE !!!!

technically as this is a "Michael Jackson" album , he doesn't need to be credited as the "lead vocals". It's already a given.

That is absolutely awesome! I can tell you that the Foo Fighters are MJ fans, they used to have a ritual where they listened to MJ's music and drank scotch before every show they did :D
Cool. I didn't know that! :punk:

Well, technically there is no lead vocalist listed on this or some other tracks (which is kinda strange - aren't they usually listed?). Of course the obvious assumption anyone would have without even hearing a track is that it's MJ since it's on an MJ album, but legally it gives them a fairly good "out" if using a secret vocalist. (Unless it says elsewhere that all lead vocals are by MJ unless otherwise noted, blah, blah. Just having his name on the album isn't a statement that he is singing lead. Just presumed, you know.)

part of lyrics of BEST OF JOY
I am your joy
Your best of joy
I am the moonlight
You are the spring, our love’s a sacred thing
You know I always will love you

I am forever
I am the one who came when you fell down
I was the only one around (the only one)
When things would hurt you

I am forever
Wasn’t it I who said that you were free?
When living seemed so hard to be
When things would hurt you
WOW. :wub:/  That sounds amazing right there.

That's true..

What happened to Mark Ronson's song?

I personally do not see how legally it can give them an "out" if using a secret vocalist. If they are using a secret vocalist and hiding it by not giving credit that's consumer fraud.

Re: Exclusive: Michael album credits

Hahaha ... Any song i see James Porte credited for is instantly a disappointment.
Well... I am glad I and many more were not wrong at all when the said what we said about BN from second 1. This is the final confirmation, we were not "fake fans" are so many said -_-

But MJ is singing there too, so I think I will consider those "rarities" , you know, we always want as much as possible about MJ and any works he did.

Who is this guy anyway?? Do you have any Youtube links with him singing anything?

I did have but $ONY have taken every last one of them down :(
How convenient

thanks so much for the info!

Amazing

I feel my original exciment for this album is finally getting back, at least at some level.
I think it is really a good and healthy thing to know as much technical details about each tune as possible.
Thanks so much for sharing the information.

…Best Of Joy is a timeless piece of Michael's personal feelings he wanted to share with each and every one of us. Michael was always grateful for being able to channel such beautiful lyrics and melodies. MJ would say melodies are ancient, they are in the heavens above waiting to be plucked. When the expressed sound of his imagination felt right he would look at me with a calm smile and say, "It's nice isn't it". Michael Jackson's Joy is Forever…

So profound. Totally Michael. You're soooooo lucky.

Can I use this for my siggy quote?

Re: Exclusive: Michael album credits

@mkgenie:

Wait, who are you? You've worked with Michael? Wow.

Thanks for sharing the info with us.

Re: Exclusive: Michael album credits

If they are using a secret vocalist and hiding it by not giving credit that's consumer fraud.

You mean like how Sony denied anyone else was on BN for 3 days and then finally admit Porte is on the track as "background vocalist" and then not have those credited in the book?

Look at other linear notes. Michael is still always credited as Lead Vocalist. Its not implied.....on MICHAEL however its left up to the imagination.

I realize that previous Michael Jackson albums have more detailed credits. what I mentioned was technically: For example I'm checking two albums that's on my desk - Madonna and Pink- and neither one of them is credited on their albums as the lead vocals or vocals - because it's not needed. (and it doesn't mean that Madonna and Pink is using impostors on their albums)

However I agree with you saying that background vocals on Breaking News seems to be uncredited - however Porte is still credited with a general term of "musician" which might be enough to cover the vocal credition. I'll guess we'll wait and see the final booklet.

Re: Exclusive: Michael album credits

I can't wait for the booklet.

Hope they'll include never before seen pictures and more.

Re: Exclusive: Michael album credits

AND

I hope the album is dedicated to MJ's children.

Ver interesting, indeed.
And quite convenient, I must repeat -_-
MJ fans can be confussed... but at the end of the day, we know our Michael and you can't play with us!!! :cheeky:

Re: Exclusive: Michael album credits

They don't tell us what year it was produced , maybe we see this in the booklet on the album :)

I don't think its Malachi, BUT, if someone else had something to do with any song aside from who is listed, they do not need to be given credit in the liner notes of the CD booklet. Many times, the fact that people are given any credits have to do with their contract.

Re: Exclusive: Michael album credits

Re: Exclusive: Michael album credits

yeah, sure.
isn't it funny?
I remember years ago... we had to wait so long for the cassettes to arrive to my country... usually a couple of months or more, so I will just record everything in my primitive radio-cassette.

lol!!! talk about my age!!!

To be honest, I never really paid much attention to any technical details :ninja:
