Michael - The Great Album Debate

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

I'm convinced Sony are deliberately fucking these projects up. Nothing here is accidental.

But if they screw up the projects they lose money...

Forgot the `OMFG SONY ARE DESPARATE FOR MONEY SO THEY FAKE THE TRACKS!!!`.If they're so desparate for money to make some fake tracks, why would they deliberately screw up with the projects...?

It's almost logical I suppose.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

I don't understand one thing, maybe it was discussed before. Why after MJ death, Estate chose Sony to release new album? there was no other music company which want to pay for Michael unreleased material?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

I remember when MJ called for the fans to participate in the Sony Sucks demos in London and NY. The only difference is he's not here to call for it. They weren't too big then to get an earful, and they're not too big now.

Sony is the most know for good promotion...not this case I suppose lol

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

Maybe Sony was the highest bidder? Considering that's been the label Michael was signed to for the majority of his adult life, and figured that they'd be the best choice based on that. I don't know, but I didn't hear much about the material being shopped to different labels. I do remember one article where Universal was brought up, but wrote it off as a rumor.

Did that help him? Did that drive them to promote his album some more and to hear his input? No, even with all the fan support the company put Michael and his projects on the back burner and resumed it's business practices and instead put more money in one-hit artists who were suitable for the time period. With that said, what do you think will change if such thing were to happen now?

They don't care about any promotion! They invest minimum and milk maximum.

They don't care about MJ's new albums, they do however care about the catalogue. SONY has interest in what MJ possessed and in what the Estate possesses now. It's a matter of time.

Does `paying a fake impostor and a lot of people million of $$$ to sell less than 3 mil copies of the album` sounds like investing minimum and investing maximum?

Yes. They don't invest in quality but in quantity in order to milk as much as possible.

p.s. Why do you think they made an album of 10 songs? So that they can sell more afterwards = quantity.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

But they'd be paying more than they'll earn by keeping all these people quiet with millions of dollars. :mello:

Well, we don't know who paid what to whom and what was copy pasted, processed and mutilated, as we don't possess the originals. So before jumping to conclusion that they paid many people, maybe we should first see how it was processed. Maybe only two three people know the truth, not necessarily more. But the problem is that no one can prove the contrary as it was heavily processed.

Even if the demo didn't change any of Sony's tactics, I'm sure the fans who showed up with Michael during the demostrations are proud of themselves, as they put in the effort to defend Michael's legacy.

If we have this attitude of not being able to change anything, nothing will definitely happen. Just because it's hard or unlikely does not mean we should all just give up. I'm not scared of failure - even itf it's very likely. However, I do have an acute aversion to apathy, resignation, and putting up with the status quo. That isn't what MJ was about, and it shouldn't be what we're about.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

Less sales = less proceeds for the Estate beneficiaries, ie. Katherine Jackson. The Estate handlers (Branca et al), I'm sure, all got paid up front when the record deal was made. So they have no vested interest in the projects success.

Either that OR the more unlikely scenario, that Sony are the most incompetant company in the world. Who would allow an office junior to upload the first 'new' Michael Javkson record in almost 9 years completely unsupervised. Who would **** the Thriller video up so badly in the day and age of Blu-Ray and 3D technology. Who would upload Michael Jackson music videos to Youtube with completely incorrect titles.

Either they are completely incompetant or they're deliberately screwing things up. My money's on the latter.

A great blog I found:

SONY IS DELIBERATELY SABOTAGING 'MICHAEL' ALBUM

Remember, Sony wouldn’t release singles from Invincible album
because they believed it would adversely affect the album sales?

Remember, Sony wouldn’t release “What More Can I Give” because they believed it would adversely affect the album sales?

Remember, Sony wouldn’t let Jay-Z release
his song “Girls Girls Girls” because Michael’s vocals was on it. Sony believed it would adversely affect Invincible. On the contrary, cross-genre promotion would have helped the Invincible sales.

Sony portrayed a facade that they want Invincible to sell, in reality, they didn’t!

Remember I posted here Sony sabotaged MJ albums PRIOR to Invincible?

Now, Sony is sabotaging 'Michael' album!

Sony did everything in its power to dissuade fans NOT to buy. Sony has the distribution rights to ALL MJ unreleased songs, why did they release the very song (Breaking News) with questionable vocals? Michael's children, family and fans demanded that questionable tracks are removed, Sony blatantly declined. Who do you think leaked the songs to youtube, one by one? Still, misguided fans remain eager to buy. As If to say “What More Do We Have To Do”, Sony leaked the entire album for FREE download.

Sony had “no comment" re: the leak. Why wouldn't Sony state that it had nothing to do with the leak, which would be a lie, ONLY SONY has the masters to the finished songs? Why wouldn’t Sony advise against piracy and urge us NOT to illegal-download?

As if to substantiate that it was Sony who leaked the entire album, Sony is now free-streaming the ENTIRE album on michaeljackson.com (Sony owned fanclub)

To understand its strategies, one has to be familiar with Sony Corporate Culture. Sony is a risk taker. Sony strategies aim LONG TERM BENEFIT! Sony does what it has to, Sony is ruthless! You saw Sony in action in 2002! With its eye on Sony/ATV, Sony risked loosing its business partner and # 1 singer.

SONY DOESN'T WANT ONLY SONY/ATV CATALOG, BUT ALSO MIJAC! SONY IS COMPETING WITH UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING AND SONY WANTS MONOPOLY IN MUSIC PUBLISHING INDUSTRY!

When Sony acquires MJ Catalogs, it will monetize THEN when they receive %100 of the profits….NOT when they have to share profits with MJ Estate!

Sony name is all over due to the upcoming 'Michael' album. It is called "subliminal advertising". Sony doesn't just sell music, Sony is in movies, electronics, music publishing, etc. Sony is using the very album it is sabotaging to advertise its brand!

************************************************************************************
"We have a great deal of autonomy and tremendous support from Sony who are big believers in music publishing and copyright. They have a real long-term view on growing this business and building it into the premier music publisher. Sony/ATV converted itself from a little profitable place to an extremely profitable place, always circling and looking for new opportunities." -MARTIN BANDIER, chairman & CEO of Sony/ATV

"We are very happy with the tremendous growth and financial performance at Sony/ATV. We are not sellers. We love this business and are completely focused on growing it." -ROB WIESENTHAL, executive VP/CFO of Sony
************************************************************************************
Sony's plan is 2-fold:

1- Estate is in dire position to have to sell the Catalogs. Hence, sabotaging 'Michael'
2- Sony has to be financially liquid to front BILLIONS to MJ Estate to buy the Catalogs

SONY ISN'T FINANCIALLY VIABLE, SONY CAN'T BUY THE CATALOGS!

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspi

I believe that to be the truth. No question. None of this bullshit has happened by accident. No way.

Wasn't the thing with Tommy Mottola available back then?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

Indeed Michael Jackson is a tool name! A brand name that advertizes and promotes SONY, and not the other way round.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

It's about the catalogue....I'm almost positive....Why else has there been so many f*ck ups? Nobody does that by accident....

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

There are less public ways and more effective ways of sabotaging an album than streaming a slightly different mix, and misnaming a YouTube video. I agree the ATV catalogue is lucrative and can drive corporations to do the most devious and underhanded things, I just don't think it explains everything we've seen.

Everything that happened to Michael from 1993 onwards was about the catalogue, in my opinion.

It was Michael himself who said there was conspiracy all around him....It was Michael himself who said they wanted his catalogue....

I have always said from the beginning that the one billion dollar contract was the biggest curse he could trigger against him. I wish he had never signed it in 1991! It's just like the shares, sometimes you need to just stop trying to make more money. Sharks!

There was sworn testimony claiming that Sony had people working in Michael's 'inner circle' against his best interests in order to secure the catalogue from him.

But that's crazy talk. I mean... Michael didn't know what he was talking about...

Even Dileo claims he was sacked because to diminish Michael's 'power'. It all started from Dileo's sacking really. The alarm bells should have been ringing back then.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

Michael has been betrayed NUMEROUS times...Why is it so hard to believe that this is likely happening now? He was a target...He IS a target....It's all over his lyrics! Why is it so hard to believe when you have the man himself saying these things?

"You want it? Earn it with DIGNITY"

That must be ringing around the ears of the Cascios right about now.
