Why is Joe launching the Neverland perfumes (and alcohol & icecream) at Cannes?

I know this is a 'tabloid' source, but I am worried about how this perfume launch will be seen. Firstly it's not great that Joe appears to be launching ice cream along with alcoholic drinks ( maybe separate initiatives, but there is plenty of scope for media taking this combination for an unpleasant theoretical discursive walk).
Secondly, I had a look to see what films are being shown at Cannes this year, and I am worried about one titled 'Michael', by the director Markus Schleinzer. I don't think it is based on MJ, but the only available synopsis I can find refers to ' the last 5 months in a problematic relationship between a 10 year old and a 35 year old'. If Joe starts launching icecream and alcohol plus Neverland perfume against this setting, he could raise a lot of unpleasant press comment.
(Markus Schleinzer cast 'The piano teacher'...so the topic for his directorial debut could potentially be horrendous- I finally found something about this film on a German website...the film is apparently a pedophile drama that recalls the Kamputsch case: At issue is the ten year-old Wolfgang, ...and 35-year-old Michael, Michael Fuith ("battering ram"), kidnapped and imprisoned. The film examines Geyrhalterfilm according to the "last five months, involuntary cohabitation" of the two )

I do wish that someone could (please) stop Joe!!!

Michael Jackson's dad, Joe Jackson, is going to the Cannes Film Festival next month (May 2011) to hawk a fragrance bearing the Jackson name, RadarOnline.com has learned.

What's more, the singing family's patriarch will also be selling Jackson champagne and vodka at the event -- this, as the involuntary manslaughter trial of the man accused of killing his son, Dr. Conrad Murray, will be under way.

The perfume that Joe Jackson, 82, will be debuting is called Jackson Legend: Timeless from Neverland. It's supposed to come in three bottles, including the Jackson Tribute for men, the Jackson Legend for women and the Jackson Legacy.

Separately, Jackson already announced plans for a yet-to-be-named ice cream bar.

Sources close to his dead son's estate, meanwhile, are watching the elderly man's moves.

"The Estate is monitoring these deals very, very closely, and will take action if necessary," a source tells us.

Murray's involuntary manslaughter murder trial is scheduled to start May 4.

^^ Same here.
It's beyond my mind how two elder people easily went beyond the loss of their child and moved on with business ventures. To challenge their brains and protect them from memory loss? That's good, but I don't remember seeing it before Michael died.
I guess the estate turns a blind eye to JJ and KJ for being Michael's parents--it's a delicate situation. But I can't wrap my mind around the thought that if you have a famous son you will want to make money off his name when he dies.
I just can't.

Mike was the major source of their income when he was alive so why are we surprised when they take advantage of his death? They're trying to earn a living. It is widely believed that Mike is worth more now than when he was alive. The only thing we can do is not to buy whatever it is they're selling.
