Katherine Jackson's former attorneys are continuing their legal battle against her son's estate and in their latest filing, have asked the court to award them $350,000 for costs and fees they say were run up in the days immediately following Michael's death in 2009.
In the court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the fees and costs the firm of Rosenfeld, Meyer & Susman are requesting are termed "reasonable under the circumstances," of Katherine briefly taking control of Michael's estate, and even include $18,000 incurred in connection with Michael's funeral!

$58,939.61 Petition Confirming Ability to Challenge Personal Representatives
$231,575.21 Negotiations with Subsequent Special Administrators and Their Council, Including Review of Contractual Arrangements

Jury selection beings on September 8 for Dr. Conrad Murray, who is going to stand trial for involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, who passed away on June 25, 2009.

Is this right? Didn't Janet put costs for something and got refunded? I don't understand this.

Everyone wants a piece of that cake

These are for legal work related to the funeral, not the actual funeral - pretty suspect in my opinion.

Janet did pay a deposit down to Forest Lawn, later the estate paid for all of the Forest Lawn costs so Janet was repaid.

Katherine and Joe, Randy and their bosom buddy Howard Mann should be made to pay it! They were the ones doing all that protesting...so let their asses pay for it! Also, these prices are rediculous, and judges should start throwing this crap out, for over-charging, and inflating amounts.

$40,613.61 for Appointment of Mrs. Jackson as Special Administrator
they claim they were hired on June 27 , 2009 and two days later on June 29 they managed to get Katherine appointed by the judge as Special Administrator of the estate .They want $40.000+ for that insulting document they filed while MJ was under the coroner's knife "I can't pay my elcetricity bills I need to be put incharge immediatley before others steal the money " They claim they worked on this issue for 68.50 h lol.

petitioner also engaged in extensive negotiations aimed at having a member of the Decedent's extended family join the named Executors as an additional personal representative to administer the Decedent's estate . (guess who was that person  )
for fighting to appoint the thief Randy as a third executor plus fighting the executors' decision to sign PROFITABLE contracts with AEG and Sony instead of the starting up company from the Middle East (remember that !) the estate has to pay them $ 242.000 . And you still wonder why many fans hate this family !!!!!!

OOHH...Mrs. Lodise, the Children's Guardian Ad Litem is pulling NO punches in her objection, and she is correct on EVERYTHING she is saying! Katherine KNEW there WAS a will, and she KNEW that all these posturings and lawyers she was running too was costing the ESTATE unnecessary money, and was NOT to benefit the CHILDREN, but ONLY Katherine, which she pretty much says in her OBJECTION...I like Mrs. Lodise ALOT!! lol

@SOUL....Thank you sir or madam! LOL. So, NOW we can SEE, instead of just HEAR about ALL the shady, underhanded crap the Saintly Katherine had been pulling and trying to pull...you know, the phrase should be "Once was blind, but now I see"...lol

I think it could be Taj Jackson. Remember News of the World stories that he would be the 3rd executor? There might be some truth to it because he's a random and unknown name for a tabloid to pick out of a hat. (if they were making up that story I would have expect them to go with a brother of Michael and not one of 3T)

And that still would have been a travesty...this boy couldn't even record a song, on that reality show, much less, do I believe he has the business acum to spar with the big boys. If we go by family history, and the financial genes seems to be defective, this would have been one hell of a quick Estate bankruptcy, because they would have pilfered and embezzeled money right from under PPB. Those kids would have been broke by 16...

Way to go, so basically the estate has to pay for Katherine's attempt to get rid of the people her son left in charge, after she knew her son left a will. Her actions are detrimental to her own estate. Thanks grandma!!!

How about those fees!!!! It seems many are looking at how much the estate is earning and then charging accordingly, so when Michael was alive he was the cash cow and now in death his estate is.

Michael distanced himself from them for a reason and now we see WHY. Poor Mike; getting knives in his back from the very people that are supposed to love him the most....

exactly what a joke. The family were obsessed with getting in on the estate etc.that was there choice so they pay their own lawyers fees.whats nxt murray asking the estate to pay his lawyerscan someone post lousie reply

Katherine was a special adminstrator for less than a week... all this in a week? Wow

The attorney of TomeTome is also on the list. And Mrs. Lodise the attorney of the childreen says this fees shouldn`t pay from the Estate`s money.

So imagine how much in the red the estate would be if she had 2 weeks!!!!! Michael you were very smart indeed!!!!! I am really interested in what the judge is going to do with this amount. Of course the lawyers are expected to be paid, but that amount is scandalous to me.

Yes the fees should not come from the Estate money. Let Katherine pay it out of her allowance. Of course that really comes from the estate, but let her pay a little amount every month from her allowance. She has social security so she can pay 100 every month for her debt.

wouldn't be surprised to see such a thing being backed up by the fame hungry and loud mouth jackson's either.
SMDH@ SERIOUSLY SMGDH. FFS

This is sick, viscious and twisted, what a goddamn shame that Michael's own freaking blood relatives would do ANYTHING for money, but who cares let's put them on a pedestal and start worshiping them, because they are Jackson's.

Never trust the judge, they're just as corrupt as the law. I getting sick of all this $$$ crap.

You have a point there. I was wondering if the kids had a lawyer still. It seems she is only active during court/legal proceedings which is a pity, because I see a lot of instances when the kids should have had an attorney to look after their social interests.

It is interesting how much a law firm can earn in 1 week. Are we in the wrong business guys?

judge hasn't made a decision yet - or it's not reported

she only represents their interest in the Estate. she doesn't have a say in the way the live or raised

No question: It is an cynicism to let pay the calculations from the son for the contradiction against the last will of this son.....

Maybe Katherine has worked out herself that her Apanage less is than in the testament planned, and now she submits the lawyer's calculations, because she means to have one more "credit" with the Estate. (?)

Therefore, I hold it for possible that soon follow calculations for costs which Katherine had in connection with the "tribute" in Cardiff.

morally: questionably;
juridically: a difficult question.

nothing. Tohme has a creditors claims against the Estate and has filed a request to be notified of probate proceedings. that's why his lawyer is getting notified.

Ivy, I have a question for you.

I always assumed Lodise & all Katherine's lawyers (she went thru quite a few in 2 years) were paid by the estate. But from reading, Margaret Lodise's objection to the lawyers' 300K+ lawsuit, it doesn't seem to be the case?

Who's paying Lodise? Adam Streisand & his replacement? I can see why these attorneys being paid by the estate might create some type of collusion...

Another question: do we know how many claims are still outstanding? For how much longer do you think the estate might stay in probate?

If I remember correctly, I think another progress report is due next month.

progress report is due every 9 months until the estate gets out of probate. the estate will be out of probate when they pay all creditors, including the bank that is owed more than $300m. It'll take some times.
