Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Loving the feeling of anticipation.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

They should really go easy with that crown thing. It's kind of corny and it start to feel desperate. Finger crossed for the release.

LOL...I was just thinking the same thing...

Girl... I was thinking about the same thing... Lol...

To me, BAD has an image of toughness. The crown is about royalty - which is the opposite of street toughness. So, the two don't go together. When Michael released BAD, he wanted to show a different side. His attire was leather and chain (that's hot!), not the regal military outfit.

I know Michael is still the King of Pop. But, it's not necessary to put a crown on every single thing.

Again, just my opinon... The logo is hardly a deal breaker. I'm actually indifferent.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

The logo is cool, but now we must all wait in anticipation for some official announcement of what's going to happen!

It's finally coming guys :)

Re: Future MJ Projects from Estate - Bad World Tour DVD

Please don't try to tell me what I am looking at. I am imagining the logo in different settings. I don't like the gray. It is unattractive. Yes, it will look better on some backgrounds as opposed to others, but IMO, even on the gray background it looks better but still not good.

I also don't need a lecture or reiteration of how many versions they have. I am stating an opinion based on the one I see. My opinion is not finite just as the product as of now is not finite. Nor will an unattractive logo prevent me from buying the product. It is a conversation stating what I feel. I don't have to try to be convinced to like it when I don't. (Not all of this is meant for you but is a general statement for everyone who thinks everybody should like what is put out and if they don't they shouldn't speak about it here.)

I just hate how sometimes it feels like we have to have a consensus around here and if you don't fit into that consensus, you can't have a voice.
Anyway, I don't want to make this thread about what I don't like so I will leave this as is. :)

was this tone really needed for my neutral and brief informational post?

and I'm okay with people not sharing the consensus opinion. It's just the tone that bothers me such as seeing posts with "dog shit" or seeing replies with unfriendly tone. It's unneeded in my book.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

I like the crown - I think Michael is a BAD Ass King .. kicking butt, The King slayed in BAD concerts and took no prisoners.
Royalty can be BAD ass too... Its just shows WHO's BAD and WHO'S KING. :) There is bad and then there is KING OF BAD !

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

I think the logo looks fine. I would rather it wasn't outlined in grey but I don't see it as a major issue.

Anyway, It's good to have some excitement back at MJJC. The only excitement I had here was my first month as everyone was awaiting Michael's first posthumous album. I hope that with this release the excitement for Bad 25 can continue after its release, not just before.

Ehehe, but a huge picture of a facepalm is OK? Seriously, Ivy....

He sure was KING of that BAD tour!! In 1988 I saw Michael in Kansas City and Chicago and there are no words to describe what that was like. They simply must release this so people can see that 25 years later nobody can even come close to Michael Jackson.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Logo's ok but I doubt the release will be up to much. They aren't suddenly going to change tact and start doing quality products when they can make plenty of money by putting mediocre stuff out. Or stuff that tears the fan base in half. Prats.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

the "25" doesn't fit at all to me. the more i look at, the more gayish it looks. and the crown just kills the whole. it does look too catoonish, like some said already, and it doesn't fit to the style of the "Bad" (original) writing.
what qbee has in her signature its much better.

why didn't hey make a contest for the logo? and the best to be choosen by us.

^^ My edit, if we have to have it that way, it might as well look like that at least it slightly fits.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

But, PLEASE no will.i.am or Kanye or Fergie mixes. PLEASE. Oh and if the estate is reading this, can I have access to all of MJs work? (Worth a try :p)

On A New MJ Tribute Film

Spike LEE announced that he recently began filming a piece for the 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s Bad album.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

If we don't get a second leg BAD Tour concert this year then that will ruin BAD25 for me.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for this. I really wouldn't.

There's.nothing wrong with having Will or kanye or anybody else on the remix. The trouble with t25 was the remixes weren't good. hell, they don't even need to be remixes, just great re interpretations featuring hot artists would be good.anything that impacts radio and the singles chart will benefit the legacy in some way.

I'm just making this up but what would you prefer?

1. 5 unreleased songs from the Bad sessions. (The album doesn't go to #1).

2. 1 unreleased song from the Bad sessions and 4 remixes of songs in the Bad album with artists: Justin Bieber, Adele, Katy Perry and Kanye West. (The album goes to #1 and the remixes chart in the top 10 singles chart).

In my opinion, number ones are not everything.

You can have Number 1 album and Number 1 single without those names you mentioned, and without remixes. People and fans just want respectful and genuine Michael Jackson songs with Michael Jackson's vocals. Michael Jackson songs are great and will become hits if they are promoted properly.

Thriller 25 went #1, This Is It went #1. I'm sure Bad 25 will go #1. Everything that is made properly and with love will go #1.

I would never buy Michael Jackson CD with Justin Bieber, Adele or Katy Perry. I'm sure most of the fans would refuse to buy that and that album would not go #1. Kanye West remix of an already released song would be great in my opinion. Michael personaly picked Kanye to do that remix (he also produced You Rock My World Remix feat. Jay-Z in 2001). Those other artists you mentioned had nothing to do with Michael.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Someone put this on twitter, please god no.

I have been informed that Epic is commissioning remixes for BAD 25th anniversary album. They're soon going to open Westlake studios where the BAD original sessions are stored and all remixers will go work there. This way they will prevent leaks of the tracks on the Web

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

every day they are trying to take Michael's title away and give it to justin bieber, katy perry and adell and now you won't them to work on Michael's albums, with them on the album and it went to #1 Michael would never get credit for it. NO, katy p.,No adell and NO justin b. Michael ONLY.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Estate if you're watching:

We don't want remixes, if you HAVE to put them on atleast include just as many out-takes/demos!!!

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

I'm not opposed to any Bad remixes. I personally enjoy Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008 (though I wish Michael was featured more) and I'm open to modern interpretations of those songs... I just want the remix-unreleased ratio to be fairly balanced, as opposed to Thriller 25.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Actually,If SC was remixed in the way PYT was tortured by will i am,i may suicide!!!!

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

I hope the story about remixes is not true. I like remixes, but not on official releases. They only take up the space of much more interesting material, such as unreleased tracks or demos. Other than that, the quality of the remixes on official releases is often very low imo (see Thriller 25).

There are so many cool free remixes and covers available on the internet, made by very talented people who do it purely because they love Michael's music. I'd much rather listen to one of Adam Lee's inspired guitar covers than to hear Will I Am rap about peeling off jeans like a tangerine over a generic club beat.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread
