Michael - The Great Album Debate

Who does back-up vocals on Soldier Boy? Is it Porte? And the opening line of Burn Tonight sums this all up really. No one else think they don't sound like Mj songs? The sound, instruments used doesn't sound right and that was one of the first things I picked up on, they didn't sound right. What about everyone else?

The most striking point in SB is when he says "victim". It sounds butchered and smells like yet another fabrication. The lyrics however are lolarious: "he was stabbed in the back, as a matter of fact" How much effort in order to just make it rhyme loooool. The one who wrote them is a "genious". :D

Hey hey hey...watch your tone.

Michael and Eddie worked very hard on these songs and Michael wanted these songs to be heard by his fans, remember? And also don't forget that according to Frank Cascio this is what Michael does best...:rolleyes2:

Remember, the Cascio tracks are better than the entire Invincible album!

Are there any examples of couples or romances that have occurred due to the Cascio tracks? I thought BUMPER had some love affairs with a few ladies in this thread. I guess that would be a positive of the Cascio tracks?

But it seems ok to slander Cascios or Malachi only because some fans accuse them for committing the crime. I think it's not respectful at all, especially for Michael Jackson and his fans, who have different opinion. Just big hypocrisy. Do not like something and complain about it is one story. Going in circle and talking absurds is fine but slandering remain me the way MJ is treated by many.

You know, I'm a little fed up with all this defense of the Cascios and Malachi. What about Michael Jackson himself? This is a Michael Jackson forum. Frankly, he's the only one I care about. It's his music, his legacy. We aren't a bunch of hateful, rabid fans whose sole purpose is to come on this forum and slander the Cascios. We have been asking questions about these songs, and no one wants to answer or seems to have any answers. Their actions (or lack thereof) have resulted in the split of the fanbase and has been for the last 2 years. I'm sorry, but it's hard to defend those type of people who release ambiguous music under Michael Jackson's name and refuse to answer any questions or address any concerns about them.

By the way, I saw your post before it was deleted. Maybe you should take your own advice and be respectful of others as well, because all I saw in your post was just a personal attack of your fellow MJ fans. You had nothing else to add to the discussion or the debate. So please, do not come in here preaching about respect.

And why are you in this thread again?

A money-grubbing family sells out their friend of 20+ years, who often bought them gifts, took them on vacation and cared for them as if they were his own family, by recording faux tracks and selling them for millions upon millions of dollars. The existence of the tracks were not confirmed until almost a year after Michael's death. Each Cascio is a rip-off of a previously existing track, so they will sound real. And you dare tell the fan community that we're slandering them? Personally, I'm more pissed off at the Cascios that they joined the ranks of people who used and hurt Michael after all he's reportedly done for them. Not to mention Malachi, who the fan community firmly believe is the voice on the records after various vocal comparison tests performed by fans. Eddie Cascio and Jason Malachi played the fan community for fools. The belief was that, seeing as how Jason fooled thousands of people in 2008 with the leak of his song Mamacita, that they could screw over the entire fan community. It is not us who are in the wrong, it is the Cascios and Jason Malachi. Before you judge the fan community, who have been all for Michael before and after his death, re-evaluate the current situation. Otherwise, don't speak at all.

With all respect, Elapentela..:). I read this post of yours:

Fortunately for Michael Jackson Legacy not all people love and respect him only for his music. Michael Jackson would never ever be so fascinating all around the world just for his music. Fans like you underestimate very badly his phenomena. For me personally his music was never something what was holding my interest in him (even if I knew he had perfect pitch since the very beginning). I love classical music, especially simphonic chorus and orchestras so the pop music for me needs to show the highest quality to appreciate it. I like Michael's music but as former music journalist I dedicated a lot of my professional and private life to promote his message because I just loved his personality. I think I loved and still love him more as a person and an artist in general than a musician. I also think he was very sexy not only on the stage but privately too. Not always but pretty often. Other fans love different aspects of his showmanship or just only music like you. I'm positive there are the boards where you can talk only about MJ's
music.
For me it is the other way around. I love his voice, his way of singing, his dancing. That's what attracted me to him from the beginning.
And this thread is about just that, his voice and artistry...not his personality.

Of course you can have your opinion, but maybe you should leave the judgement of the Cascio voice and songs to fans who also (or especially) loved him for just that?

From Jesta on twitter

Branca confirmed (several times) that the Cascio tracks will NOT be used in future products and that their inclusion was a massive mistake. I didn't hear the whole conversation, but it was roughly that "Michael" was far from his best;He personally contacted Malachi, who denied such things on account of his profession in the law, but promised to not include any more Cascio tracks on account of the pain it caused the fan-base.

Good to know. But too late Branca. When we had massively asked not to include those tracks you were not listening to our requests.

If he is sincere when talking about a "massive mistake", then he should urge to remove all the Cascio songs from any "Michael" future re-release.

Using the excuse that Michael was far from his best contradicts entirely what Eddie said about Michael Jackson and those tracks. According to Eddie, Michael was working hard every day and absolutely wanted to release those tracks. On top of that, Eddie agreed that Michael would LOOOVEE this controversy.

So, Branca, if it was huge mistake, you know what you do when you make a mistake? You repair it. In this case by removing the tracks and make a public statement.

I would like to add that I was mostly eavesdropping and the noise in the cinema made it difficult to hear the full thing, so I may have gotten details wrong in some places. But he definitely said no more Cascio tracks and commented on Malachi.

I have no issues in believing that Branca had no clue about those Cascio tracks and how they were fabricated, but even if Jason Malachi had done it, he wold have never admitted it to Branca.

At the same time, Branca is the executor for heaven's sake! How could he not reconsider that massive mistake at the time the fans were complaining before the release?! And on top of that, I don't get it how he, who had known Michael for decades, didn't find those vocals odd in the first place? That was quite a poor executive decision he made back then.

Why not use the tracks if they are the real deal? Easy question, and I would've asked Branca that myself had I been there.

Do we really need more casico releases to continue this debate about the 3 that were released.?
At least we know the estate admits a mistake in releasing them and promises fans they will not release any more. They have done much to try to make amends to the fans. We know Branca knows nows and realises how much these tracks upset and devided the fanbase. At least he is acknowledging that to the fans. (He didnt have to) He cant very well throw it all under the bus and destroy everything. But I think with his addmission more info will eventually come out from others. Branca broke the ice.
But I am elated the rest of Eddies crappy songs are flushed down the toilet by the Estate :)MJ deserved better
