I was reading the booklet about the Bad World Tour on the deluxe ed. and on the page about December 1988 concerts i saw this picture ... (sorry for the quality)

The pose looks like the one he used to do on the final part of the song... and the dancers are wearing the typical costumes from TWYMMF performances and video...

Could this picture be from the L.A. concerts?

Yes, Michael did perform it in the white shirt :), at all 5 of the LA concerts in 89'. If that says december 1988 tho, that pic might actually be from Tokyo (I doubt it tho), but I'm pretty sure that's a pic from LA.

the dates in the booklet doesn't relate to the picture when it was taken. there was one pic from 87 in the 88 dates.

Someone other than me noticed and decided to discuss it lol....The white looks amazing...An alternate outfit is always fun to see.

MJ would always where white in California in LA. MJ looks good in any color :D

Imagine Smooth Criminal being performed with the black suit and black fedora from Moonwalker, as an alternate costume? That be soo sick

My dream was always Michael to use opposite colors for Billie Jean :)

White Jacket, White hat, black gloove. Not always, just for one performance.

Blue & White shirts are really good for Michael :)

Yellow one with Come Together and Red one with JAM :) On videos it looks like orange, but I'm sure it was red that he did wear for JAM video.

Once I saw a video of MITM at the Grammys and MJ was wearing the red shirt... I know that it was made with a video editor or whatever, so I wonder if it's possibile to do the same with Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal and other songs...

Depends on lighting and colors in scene. That what you saw was just color keyed. It's easy to do if background is dark and the shirt or whatever is the only specific color in the frame. That way if you key the blue shirt for example in Grammy video it looks good. But if Michael was outside with blue shirt and behind him blue skies, it wouldn't look as good if you tried to key it, lol you would key out the sky as well, since it works on the color you select, not the object in the shot.

But the white suit is part of what made Smooth Criminal so cool

Thanks DJ_OXyGeNe_8 ... that was the video I was talking about! :D

It would be so cool if you can use the same effect on other performances... :D

Jam shirt was orange not red.
see pictures from behind the scenes and and photos with the stars that appeared in the video, its orange.

I remember when released video, watched on tv several times and was red. But on DVD comes as orange :) The same thing with Smooth Criminal video. The costume was absolutely white, but on DVD looks like yellowish :)

And also Beat It jacket was red, right? But on video we see orange!?

Jam is orange. on tv looks red, on dvd redish, but in reality is orange.

Same as BJ shirt is white, in video is pink.

True-and it wouldn't have been a true homage to the "Girl Hunt" ballet from Bandwagon w/o the white suit, hat and blue shirt. Being a MGM musical junkie and this being one of my all time favorite Fred Astaire numbers.
