well, i'm sorry but this isn't exactly the spotlight that Michael should be shining in to be brutally honest. I will stick to my opinion until some good news actually comes.

The remix is... eeeeeh. I'll give it a final verdict once the song's actual version is finally released however.

I'm gonna keep an open mind that I may not like the song at first. Mainly because we already have a strong idea of what the song sounds like in our heads thanks to multiple demos in the past so if it does sound a bit different, it's understandable we might not like it at first. Some of my most favourite songs are ones I didn't like at first, hence I'm gonna give it a good few tries when the song is finally released in it's final form.

Still, I hope it's better than what we got here. Though the strings just before the drum beat kicked in were pretty sweet.

It's a smart move for promo of Michael's music in the near future. Good job Estate. These men are builders and visionaries. Hats off to them for planning toward the future.

I honestly don't get the negativity and the disappointment.

You don't possibly think this is the only news we're going to get in the near future... Why would they waste a such a great song on a smartphone commercial (for like 10 sec of MJ voice) as if it was written as jingle - if they had no intention releasing it later? They put the MJ.COM address on the end of the video stating what song was used - Why would they do that if there's no actual chance to hear the song on the website once you get there? Plus, sounds like a whole new production - which fits Timbaland's style. And we know he's working on new tracks for a new album.

Think about it the commercial is not for the fans - it's for the wider crowds. Most people hear the song for the first time and if they like it and see "Featuring the song" at the end of the video - They're going to check the website... and then what? nothing? Obviously something IS coming and I think it's safe to say it's not the only announcement coming.

For once stop looking at it from the fans' prespective. This Sony Xperia commercial is obviously not about making you happy... I THINK It's more about exposing the song to the worldwide, non-fan community for the first time.


Now I can't actually say I KNOW anything but it's really to soon to bang your heads against anything espcially when it doesn't look like the end of it. The last slide in the commercial directs to the website and there's still nothing there. Now *this* looks like the beginning of something.

I'm gonna wait and see what unfolds over the next while to be honest. As I said earlier, I'm gonna wait for the final version of the song to be released (and the chance to play it multiple times to get 'into it') before I give my final verdict of it.

This reminds me of the deal that Eminem had last year with Dre (For his Beats commercial). He released a snippet of his upcoming video-single in it before the album was even announced.

This created confusion and a lot of fuss (taking into consideration he became blonde again and wanting to do a throwback to one of his first albums). But nevertheless, the impact was huge. Promo for promo. Eminem fans came to see the Beats commercial. Dre fans heard Eminem while watching the commercial.

Good marketing, IMO, Michael did the same with the Pepsi commercials back then. The only difference is that he's not here anymore.

Well I am very happy with this collaboration with Sony, I see it as a positive thing. Maybe an album announcement is coming soon.

I personally Love it!! It seems a new album aint too far away,getting Michael's music back in the public minds is a great marketing move.Keep the faith new music is coming ;)

I don't know whether this is true or what is going on, but I came across this:

'New' song for Jackson album
Michael Jackson's second posthumous album will be launched in April with a ''new'' song titled Love Never Felt So Good, according to its co-writer, Paul Anka, right. The veteran Canadian showman, who plays Hamer Hall on March 5, says the song, leaked online in demo form, hails from the same 1983 sessions that yielded Jackson's first posthumous hit, This Is It. Anka successfully sued Jackson's estate over that five years ago, claiming Jackson's minders stole tapes from his studio.

You heard 10 seconds of Michael's voice on this new version how can you say which one is better or anyway closer to "MJ's original version" if we never heard the original version. That Techno sound on the tricky version didn't sound mj-ish to me either... I'll wait.

What are you talking about? Nobody here has heard the original. And Tricky "Hack" Stewart even said himself that his objective was to "destroy" the original production of the song and present something completely different.

Anyway, maybe this will finally attract the teeny bopper crowd they are so desperately trying to win over. Maybe it will make some people want to check out MJ. The REAL MJ. Not the "let's dress up the dead guy for 2014" "MJ". And then maybe we can get something of substance.

I bet we get a single in a few weeks. The estate deserves credit here. How in the hell would anyone every here the song if they didn't advertise it? The song is great everyone will be hearing it in there heads! Its MJ,what do you want? Geez. Unbelievable. Some of you need to get a reality check. Step back and wait,enjoy. It's going to be Michael mania again soon . New album possibly a 3D concert.

This mix of Slave to the Rhythm actually sounds quite decent. Loving the classical element to it. Assuming this is done by "Timbaland" i'm quite happy with what i've heard, can't wait to hear the full version. I reckon an album announcement is just round the corner for sure!

Got to say I am a bit disappointed, not entirely because I didn't fully expect anything (something most of us have learned so far). When you put up that an announcement is coming on MJ.com, you expect something a bit bigger that appeal more to the fans. Not a deal with Sony Mobile, who cares about that? They care because it's good promo for the Estate. Not announcement worthy IMO. I'm still not getting an Xperia.

The remix doesn't sound like just Timbaland "putting his touches on it", like he said in his interview last summer. It sounds 100% re-produced. I'm not really feeling it (yet), the bassline is weak, the sounds are a bit cheap, and it sounds a bit too generic Timbaland. I know he can do better.

I also don't like this:

"What exactly it is remains to be seen, but given Sony Music's ties with Jackson's current music library, it is possible users will see tracks bundled with the device."

Not a fan of the above... Might be good for promo and all that, but it just feels so wrong to treat MJ's music like that. His music is pure gold, and doesn't deserve to be "bundled with the device" and these kind of tacky ways.

Also did anyone notice how they had to point out that it's the "solo recording"? Haha.

But I am glad to see things at least moving...

I don't understand any of the negativity!
This is the first official hint that new music is approaching! It's via a very smart promotional tool..
We already heard that Timbaland is doing his thing with the updated versions.
The hate & unrealistic expectations are so unnoying & uncalled for. I hope this doesn't go unnoticed by mods. It's always the same with some of the commentors.
