Instead of writing these as two different song's, i would name Stop Throwin' Your Life Away Original version. That would be a more accurate view on the tracklisting as of now until it is confirmed.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

An eighties, unheard mid-tempo number could actually still be... Chicago 1945! So maybe we'll have "Chicago (She Was Lovin' Me)" and "Chicago 1945" as two different songs. The similar titles would be the Estate's attempt at being all "conceptual" and all.

It's not. Chicago 1945 is an uptempo number. That much I can promise you.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Guys i've got the following conclusion as of now (just my line of reasoning):

She was lovin' Me (Chicago) = one song

The missing 8th song could be: 'Hot Fever'
Why? It's an mid tempo 80's song & it's probably the song channeling/sampling 'The Way You Make Me Feel', which was stated by more than one journalist after the pre listening.

Hot Fun = Bonus Track on Deluxe Edition

It's not Hot Fever. They said that A Place With No Name resembles They Way You Make Me Feel, that they have similar basslines.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

wooh i missed a lot. chicago and she was loving me same song hum ?! nice

Im really getting excited now! :woohoo:
Maybe they also still dont know the exact tracklist yet.

But i really hope they dont put a slow song as first single. That has to be a killer song, like STTR. Would be a perfect starter *hoping*

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

I just wait to order the album, it will be a delight to listen to Michael's beautiful voice again!

Did anyone of us really think of TWYMMF when listening to APWNN (judging from the version we have)?
I did not!

I think it's possible the journalists mixed that up, because the tracks Hot fever & APPWN could follow one another in the order on the album.

Other reasons supporting my Hot Fever theory is, there is no Bad-Anniversary coming up & it was not on Bad25.
So they could use it now very well - mid tempo, 80's...

THE mid tempo song of MJ is TWYMMF. And because TWYMMF stems from Hot Fever this one is mid tempo all the same.

I think the tracklist was absolutely done when they announced the album. - Considering there was only like 6 weeks from announcement to release I would say everything is planned!

Hot Fever is also uptempo; it was based around The Way You Make Me Feel. The shuffling beat is purportedly almost exactly the same on both recordings.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

I would love to hear a BAD outtake on this album ! (Hot Fever,Throwin' Your Life Away) As for Chigaco and SWLM being different songs, I think it would be strange for the reviews saying different.
Also most reviews stated Xscape was the last track...
I'm not looking forward to HFITS (if it's true) because I don't want duets on this album.

Nah...don't think so... And in deluxe version should be a demo of Hot Fever?

TWYMMF is not uptempo!

Smooth Criminal is uptempo...

TWYMMF is the middest tempo you'll ever get. :-D

For now my guess is 'HOT FEVER' for 8th mysterious track.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Exclusive Interview With Xscape Artwork Designer

''MJWN has had the opportunity to speak with the 42 year old London designer Mat Maitland, the creator of the brand new artwork for the upcoming Michael Jackson album ‘Xscape’ and the Creative Director for Big Active Design. He tells us the background to the project, his inspirations and how it was made.

How did it come about that you worked on the ‘Xscape’ album?
Word must have got out that I was a huge MJ fan! We (Big Active, design co) were approached by Sony.

How many designs did you create for ‘Xscape’?
I created about 10 cover ideas.

How was the artwork made? Was it based on a photo?
It’s based on a photograph given to me by The Michael Jackson Estate; it’s a fairly recent image of Michael but like I say, it’s based on that image and uses parts of it.

Was there anything in the design process that you particularly wanted to achieve?
It was really important to everyone (including myself) that the cover felt like a new Michael album, something he might have done today, rather than a retrospective image that may have looked like a best of. I really wanted to capture the magic and power of MJ but also his vulnerability.

Where did you draw inspiration from for the ‘Xscape’ artwork?
I wanted to evoke a contemporary and quintessential incarnation of Michael as an artist who constantly injected new blood into his music and also to focus on both the intriguing and futuristic aspects of MJ. As well as being a tribute, I hope that it will inspire reflection on a man who continues to stimulate and offer unique creative musical possibilities to so many today. I also tried to say that Michael is all around us, in our universe and beyond, on earth and in outer space.

How long have you been an MJ fan for?
30 years.

What’s your favourite album cover from Michael’s back catalogue?
‘Dangerous’ because it was such a knowing image that acknowledged and commented on the world Michael had created for himself, good and bad. It kind of carried on the theme of the ‘Leave Me Alone’ video as that was the last track on ‘Bad’ and then this was the album after that. It has so much detail in it which was unusual in the times of simple CD covers (although the eyes held your attention). Also, I like that it was true to Michael’s vision whereas on ‘Bad’ (and ‘Invincible’) the label stopped him from using the images he wanted. Actually, coming back to the eyes, this was a big influence on the cover I created for ‘Xscape’ – the magnetic stare, always looking at us.

How does it feel that your artwork is about to be owned by millions of people around the world and will be a part of iconic pop history for years to come?
It’s been a lifelong dream to create a sleeve for Michael Jackson and I feel honoured to be asked to do it. Even if I wasn’t a fan it would have been amazing but as a huge fan it makes it even more special. I hope that the fans like the cover. I’ve heard the album and it’s really amazing!''
