Huge disappointment! Where was the damn hologram? 'Cause that sure was'nt MJ! I swear I cringed at the whole thing! Why was the hype so misleading? This is what Jordin Sparks cried for?

I'm gonna go listen to the REAL MJ now and try to remove that four minutes I just lost from my memory!

My exact words when I saw him sitting there: "That ain't no damn Michael Jackson!!!"

"4 minutes fans gonna remember for the rest of their lives." So THAT's what they meant! Yeah, that embarrassment I for sure will never forget.

But what's interesting is that it shows how either totally clueless or totally corrupt the media and the industry is. Go reread yesterdays Las Vegas Sun article.

That was not Michael's body, Michael's face, Michael's dance or anything else. Where'd they get this guy? At the local Las Vegas MJ impersonator show?

That was sad. Only for Conrad's fault Michael wasn't there, on the stage, singing & dancing.

I like the stage but not the performance, maybe I had different expectations.

I thought they said that L.A. Reid had found some footage of Michael performing and that's what they were going to use.

I feel bad for anyone who got themselves up in the middle of the night to see this. :(

So um...kind of had a feeling something like this was going to happen but always think positive kind of left me dissapointed I try to make some of the bad things into something good but I do not think I could do that in this situation they built over hyped this way too much lets just hope we don't see another MJ hologram again

Hilarious! As soon as I saw its face, I could not stop laughing!

I cannot wait to hear how much was spent on this!

Michael would NEVER give a lackluster performance! NEVER in his life! I do not know Michael however; I doubt he would dress that way in 2014.

Estate/Sony: this is what happens when someone wants to give a Michael Jackson performance and there is no Michael Jackson to do it. No need to preserve this footage for prosperity. Let it fade away and use animation or such for future music videos. I truly hope this is a lesson learned.

Hmm, MJ made history and that's always nice.

But was it really good history to make?

My first impression was not too positive - BUT I will wait till I have seen it again to judge.

It looked like an impersonator, and the moves was a little repetive, but I think it was great promotion and a great way to hype the album. - Many saw this performance and they will now know STTR. - So it's a good way to spread the music and love for MJ.

BUT - from what I saw in stream quality - I was not very impressed. If this is how far they have gone with hologram, maybe give it 5 years more, then it works and looks good. - Hopefully.

Still a nice promotion performance.

It WASN'T an impersonator, it was CGI using Michael's likeness, I could tell by the way it spun around.

lol no. That's an impersonator. If they were doing cgi trickery for his likeness, it maybe would have actually looked like him. There was no found footage used in this.

This was just a large video screen.

It would have actually been cool if it looked like him, because the overall effect was nice.
The only reason the hologram effect (like Tupac) would have been necessary is if he had been interacting with another performer, but since that wasn't happening, just using a huge screen was fine.

But impersonator or cgi trickery, it looked like I was watching a video of an impersonator. And not even the best moves, either.

I can't believe the estate said "Yep, this'll work".

This is gonna break Zakks heart loll

Personally, I liked it. And I think the average neutral music fan will love this if they can see past all the negative press this might get. So, lets not join them, right? :)

I hope people liked the song. I didn't think it was bad but it didn't look like Michael to me. I don't understand how that worked.

I saw it in HD and it looked pretty good. You could tell the face was CGI, but I thought it was pretty darn good. The stage itself had reflection, There was some interation. The dancing was pretty good.

Michael isn't here. Don't expect Michael quality or fluidness with dancing. All in All I thought it was good. Its fantastic promo, let it sink in and please stop hating. Everyones a critic. When you die, I bet you wouldn't give as good of a performance. :p (humor, im not funny)

I think actually - and hope - that non fans will enjoy and like this very much!!

I really hope it helps keep MJ alive and promote Xscape!

At worst at least it was good promo for the album. As long as people are talking right?

Honestly, it sucked. May as well have had an impersonator live on stage lip synching. Would have had the same effect. It's not a big deal to me that it sucked. It's just strange at how people hype these kinds of things up. I guess they really wanted ratings.

The sidewalk looked a little strange to me. - Is it only me?

I will have to sleep on this. In the meanwhile

Lol, goodnight.

Not only did the moves clearly not look like MJ, the face was not even close either. When I watched the 2pac hologram, there were a few moments that were kinda spooky to me. That did not happen here. This was no different than watching an impersonator at a fan party.

I think the performance was fine. Just, that face...

Now having some time to think about it, it would have been better if they obscured his face with the fedora for the majority of the performance, but at maybe in the middle and/or the end of the song, he took the fedora off and stood still, they could easily make a cgi/composite mix of his face without the complications of moving around or mouthing words.

Maybe to the average person, they may have been impressed with this and liked the song, hopefully.

I guess as the hardcore fans, we are going to be especially acute/critical of how it looks. Maybe the general audience will have liked the song and performance?

I'm assuming this was probably the same guy that did the hologram for the One show. I was definitely expecting more. It was okay for that, but not for a performance like this. Why use a hologram of an impersonator? That's just silly to me. I thought they said it was going to more and better. On a positive note I thought the choreography and stage was nice.
