Children who were Michael's friends

From the article "Evan Ross's Memorial Day Weekend playlist":

1. "Earth Song" by Michael Jackson: "This is one of my favorite songs of Michael's. I loved the music video and it has stuck with me since I was a little boy."
2. "Human Nature" by Michael Jackson: "I was lucky to grow up around Michael. I remember seeing him perform this song. It paints a picture in your head and leaves you with a visual of the magic world of love."

@StephenGibb I support Wade Robson the latest accuser of Michael Jackson what are your thoughts if any?

Stephen Gibb ?@StephenGibb 5 Nov

@MikeParziale1 All of my experiences with Michael Jackson were positive. He was like family in the purest sense to me. Nothing but love !

These haters are so pathetic with their fishing for "victims". But I am glad about the response.

They're so pathetic! I didn't know Barry's son is famous. It's cool that he stood up for MJ & for himself.

Are these Barry Gibb's children?

I don't know ..the one in front sure looks like him huh?
All I know is that one of Barry's kids is named after Michael ...Michael was his Godfather

Jee...i still find it hard to use the word : "was" :(

Oh my goodness, that is one of my favourite songs and I always think of Michael when I listen to it, especially the line "this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you".

I can't listen to it without welling up.

Have you ever seen the episode of Dr Who with Vincent van Gogh?

It made me think of how amazing that would be if Michael could see the outpouring of love and appreciation for him after he died. I don't think Michael felt this in the last few years of his life and it makes me so upset :( Best not to reflect on it too long.

I know most people really hate Michael's father, BUT, he said something similar to this both at the BET awards a few days after Michael died, and elaborated further when he was looking at the beautiful flowers and cards and displays of emotion outside the Hayvenhurst gates with Reverend Sharpton. Just broke my heart.

I'm watching the LWMJ outtakes (again) at the moment and I felt it belongs in this thread. I think it's so sweet how he's kind of gushing over the 'german girl' picture and the other picture and asks them to print it bigger and he talks about it with Bashir and Bashir (and the other people in the room - Hamid?) agrees.

I'd never seen this, Linda - thank you!

The lyrics to Vincent are so moving, just reading them off the page gives me goosebumps:

Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free

They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now

You're right, it's just heartbreaking knowing that it was just all too late.

Okay,I will stop derailing the thread now!

Their posts made me weep :boohootheir loyalty is not taken for granted these days

I was also super touched by all the comments made by his many nieces and nephews. Obviously a major father figure to them when their real dads were absent.

Barbee could you copy them please? I don't follow the whole family on twitter

I will. I'll have to wait til tonight til I get to a real computer. I saw them altogether on another site. Maybe somebody's Facebook. I'll find it!!

I always wondered who he stayed in contact with towards the last few years of his life? It just seems like he was only surrounded by security, suits, and his kids, and I find that really sad. I know he was still seeing Frank Cascio, but I hadn't heard of Brett Barnes, Mac, or Chris Rock being in the picture since the trial days? I did hear that Omer was around too (even heard a rumor he was at the house June 25th *not true*), but that would explain why he is still so close with Prince Paris and Blanket.

If you mean Chris Tucker he did fly to Bahrain when Michael was there and he came to visit him in Vegas too.

Whoops. Sorry I was watching a Chris Rock skit on YouTube when typing that. Haha. Yeah Chris Tucker. I think I knew about Bahrain, I didn't know about Vegas? What about Brett Ratner?

Wasn't Chris talking about it when he was promoting Rush Hour 3?

Brett Ratner said Michael was upset that he (Brett) refused to take the stand in 2005 and speak for him against the Arvizos, so they fell out of touch. Brett said he was afraid of bad publicity or something like that.

ETA:

One guy Ratner probably won't be working with is Michael Jackson: "I think he's still mad at me because I wouldn't testify at his [child molestation] trial." http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/brett-ratner-limb-nyc-article-1.329355

Ah. It's been so long, I don't remember if I had read that or not. Poor Mike. It still bothers me to this day. The most famous artist with all these celebrity "friends" who talk about how he's influenced them, and yet only a handful of them show up to defend him because they A.) Don't believe him or B.) Don't want to tarnish their reputation. I remember watching an interview (I think around the trial date) and he was asked who his friends were and he said his kids (who were so young at the time.) The whole thing still breaks my heart :(
