Re: Gaz Jobs/Info/Help/Discussion Thread

Guys - just so you know, you don't need put in here questions that I deal with from the wider community, I will pick them up on my own like I also have done :) (y)

This thread should be only used for technical issue's things missing bugs etc.

I've now removed all post's that refer to the above so I can easily see if any of the mentioned needs actioning reather than me wading through pages of he needs this he heeds that.

Anything board moderation related needs to go to Tal

Cheers

Okay, Gaz there seem to be a problem with the radio player on MJJC chat.

Is it a bug or are you working on the page?

Please check it out if you have a minute, thx

Oh and 'refresh the page' doesn't help!

MJJC radio service is down, I'll try to restart the server if not I will have to check with Nat to see whats the score.

Grrr now I can't get into anything either, admin/mod etc - this has now been bumped to urgent as we now have no access to moderate/admin our board.

Now fixed - please let me know if you face any further issues.

Hopefully we can still use this thread to ask Gaz for technical assistance and of course, there is his e-mail facility, which is now gary@mjjcommunity.com

I hope this thread is still valid as it’s about a comment I got on Instagram about ‘becoming a member’ here.
So thought I first address this here and then mail

okay, this Instagram follower “Trevor_the_antilope” commented he has trouble registering on the forum as it seems the recaptcha v1 is shut down

It could be his computer messing with him but still felt like ‘reporting’ it in case others report the same problem.

so Gaz, if you got a mo’ please check it out, thanks.

Daz.

That's not the first I've someone say about the recaptcha, I'll take a look at it, also give them the contact@mjjcommunity.com email so I can answer direct from there. ;)

Mikky, just wanted to mention, I saw what you said about banned members being welcome back, respect and matty are not, some of the things they said and did to me on PM (yes here at MJJC and on email) was despicable, they are playing a very manipulative game with the members portraying themselves as the innocent where everyone loves them and painting me to be the nasty one when in their case its quite the opposite only they cunning know where to do it without other seeing it, plus they have a motive to promote thier board by making members leave here to go there.

Other than that yes all else are more than welcome back.

Btw, I'm thinking about renaming this account to something else, admin maybe, not sure yet, but I want my name taken out of things as I'm sure you can understand with everything probably even now still targeted at me.

Yes, a twitter user also said on the weekend that she tried to join and couldn't do it, for some reason, so I'll message her and tell her to contact you directly on this e-mail.

Don't worry Gaz. Honestly, that comment was more PR than actual intent. I merely promised to "look into it" and "see what I could do" if anyone who's on LSA wants to give MJJC another go and I asked them to contact me about it. As yet, I have had no PMs or other forms of contact and I'm not really expecting any. I know all about Matty Jam and I trust your judgement with regard to most of the others, too. I've only been visiting the site since 2016 and since then, not frequently, either, so I would never presume to have had my finger on the pulse of the place and to know all of the socio-dynamics, between members, or between members and staff. I have no doubt that these people moaning and complaining about you, or about MJJC, all have their own "reality", with regard to how things went down and who said and did what.

I am so sorry that you have had to deal with all of this rubbish and general character assassination, when all you've ever wanted to do, over the years, is build a wonderful place where people can love and honour Michael....it shouldn't involve such drama, but unfortunately it does! I'm also sad that you think it might be necessary to make a name change, but a name change could actually be quite good.

GMT777 or something equally mysterious and then you can be incognito all the time!

I will never forget that you were one of the few people who extended a hand to me, on twitter, when Positively Michael went dark unexpectedly. You and a few others helped me, then, to stand up to the bullying and other nonsense that was sent my way by those rabid anti-Estate nut-jobs on twitter and also on LSA, where they were bad-mouthing forums and generally trying to run everyone into the ground, with false accusations. I have always appreciated your comradery and your support.

You offered to help us keep Positively Michael running, too, even when you had your hands full here. That's the main reason why I said I would be interested in helping you, here, at MJJC....because you and your site have been under seige; because you're WEARY and because I want to help to stop all of that and to bring some peace and togetherness back. I want this to be a Michael Jackson stronghold and a safe haven, where everyone can share their love, admiration and advocacy for Michael in an intelligent, respectful, positive and principled way, without dishing out hurt towards others.

I hope this allays your fears. I would never think of going in and undoing bans without asking you first. Basically, whoever is currently banned shall remain banned unless they contact me, plead their case and plead it WELL. Even after that, I would still ask you what you're feelings were about it.

Awww, bless ya hun, tbh I classed you guys a family in the MJ community and was equally sad to see PM down/gone, I now feel blessed to have you on my team running this place, for me after seeing the great job you did with PM and what is clear being a great person I know this place is in good hands.

I simply can't thank you enough for seeing through the cloud to reality and wanting to help here...

on the note of the recaptcha, I have now set it to letters until I figure out how to integrate v2 of recaptcha

Guys, just to let you know, I've been doing some technical updates to the site, including add a donate bar as well as a nice new chat feature that is bot on the forum and on the main site so fans will be popping in there from both area's.

I noticed! Awesome! I have just one question. Access to VIP areas that people who donate will have, is mentioned in the notes on the donation bar; so, going forward, what are the VIP areas exactly...or special privileges, etc.?? Over the weekend, I'll need to tweak the statement in the rules, to reflect these changes (unless you've done that already).

Nothing haha, I need to change that.

Guys, to let you all know I will be moving MJJC onto another far cheaper server to cut costs as I am pretty much-getting nothing in the way of help, the server will no longer be dedicated instead it will be on a shared server, this will mean at busy times (if there are to be any again) the site will not load, this is now the minimum step I can do before closing up.

Waaaahhhhhh! Disturbing news.....

Afraid so, when you keep seeing £112 GBP ($147 USD, $199 AUD) coming out of your bank each month for something everyone else now uses pretty sure anyone would be the same, and worse this has been going on for years now.

Hi, Gaz,

A member (AgentM) sent me a PM, saying that his/her friend cannot access her account and is asking for help with that.

The one who can't gain access to the site, is here (RememberTheTime) http://www.mjjcommunity.com/forum/members/75154-RememberTheTime

I assume she has forgotten her password, or something....can you check that out please?

ETA: I have some extra information, now.....Rememberthetime has said that "the system thinks I am a griefer". Not sure what that means. Maybe it's something to do with you disabling registrations because of the spambots, but she's already a member....

Haven't a clue what that is supposed to mean, and it's certainly not in the systems of the forum, anyway their friend PM'd me I so I've reset the password and replied back.

Thanks. I knew you'd be onto it. Apparently she has been locked out of her account before.

A member has suggested (in the Help and Information Centre) that we should have an APP for MJJC. I'm not sure what that means, but I said that I would pass the suggestion on. I was thinking that "having an app" means that the site can be accessed more easily via mobile phones and iPads, much like the twitter/Facebook apps for mobile devices, but isn't that what Tapatalk does??

Unfortunately an app for MJJC is never going to happen, however, yes you're right tapa talk does allow the forum to be used in the tapa talk app, also the forum does have a skin for mobiles which changes the whole look and feel to a far more simpler, its called 'On the Go' and should auto pick up when your on a device, that is unless you change it.

Gaz, I just randomly noticed, today, that this member: http://www.mjjcommunity.com/forum/members/112988-Kyosuke-Akiniwa has made 18 posts, but is still appearing as a Junior Member on their profile. I thought that member status was upgraded after ten posts?? If so, it seems as though the system hasn't automatically upgraded this person's status to Proud Member. It made me wonder if that has happened for any other members, as well and if there's some kind of glitch in the automacy of this function?? Are we able to update their status manually and if so, how?

I've just clicked on that profile link and for me it's showing they are in the proud member group.
