Looking for pics. Michael in front of the crowd

CREATE ONE!!!

You and I might be the only people who love videos of fans losing their shit for Michael, but that shouldn't stop a thread from happening!
Ngl, I really don't like them. That said, I was quite happy to post a few of those types of images bc I wanted the thread to show the full range of 'Michael in front of crowds' ... thing.

Thing?

I have lost the ability to speak my native language but you know what I mean, lol.

Picture quality rubbish but the editing is good.

P.S. @wendijane - this one seems to have a lot of footage from the UK, as far as I can tell. I never went to Michael's shows so I could be wrong but this one feels very 'UK' to me.

yes, nicely done video. Honestly, I think the new fans like me can never really grasp the magnitude of Michael mania at the height of his career.
That's why I think photos of the concerts, even when Michael isn't in the picture, are so interesting. Or these fan hysteria videos. I don't like all of those videos. Footage of concerts, seeing the crowds totally getting into it, I love all of that. Hotels, cars, whatever. That's the stuff I don't like. But it's interesting and totally gobsmacking to see the scale of it all.

@zinniabooklover of course I did, that is why I mentioned it. 😄 Thank you very much for the effort! Gonna watch them all later!
You are unspeakably evil and I am never talking to you again. Oh, except to say 'thanks' for posting The Manhattans the other day. Haven't heard that one in yonks. Fab! But I am not speaking to you and I am now going to flounce off over to the Disco thread. I have songs to post. :D

This one is quite interesting. The title is misleading, nothing to do with Michael's crazy fans. Starts off with all the usual images that you see in all of these 'fan' videos. Then the middle section looks at some of the news coverage of the Black Panther dance and all the hoo-ha around it, then it ends with a collage of quotes from fans.

This one always makes me cry buckets. Especially at the end - the YT uploader has posted a little message saying, 'You're not a stranger in Moscow'. 😭

Haha Thanks everybody i try my best lol Great thread. eye opening thread, if a little scary ! The turnstiles at Wembley had me tearing up in one video , cannot remember where i saw that video ....if we step back its been pretty overwhelming , Michael must have been pretty overwhelmed, i cant speak proper , kinda mute rn doesnt help that ive got ALL the videos playing at once . dear me lol because ...yeah ...especially the photo of the fan chasing after him in the 70s. I think that photo alone, shows the magnitude of the emotional effect he had on us.

Absoluteley LOVE these phots Mac! M jumping mid air love it , him at the Superbowl 93 so close up.

Really loving that Fame and Popularity video which zinnia posted , with Larger than Life , fantastic it is a ...perfect example i think on both Michael and his fans perspective.

Well, this is interesting. @wendijane, did you see this?

No idea if this is true, of course. No way to know where this info has come from or if it's reliable.
Their words are true yes , i think it's from Twitter , a supporting page.
i found this though to match with it maybe? they say some lovely things.

Also , Dangerous was the biggest tour any performer had done in history, the staging took nearly 3 days to set up. The tour included 69 concerts reaching over 3.5 million fans.

Superbowl 27 in 1993 had 133 Mil watchers on tv alone , 'Enter Michael Jackson, whose Super Bowl 27 performance kept 133 million viewers glued to their seats as he sang, whooped and moonwalked against the Pasadena sunset. Jackson's appearance created a template that's still in use.'

Some food for thought here . im sorry they are not ....i cannot get them to be embedded

Seriously, wend, tell me about it, lol. Just the other day I told Hiker that a photo of Michael from Triumph was Memphis gig. Well, it wasn't. Same shirt but different trousers.

This is Memphis:

And then there is this one:

And I can't find out which gig this was and I was convinced I'd watched at least a clip of it. Driving me nuts!

Don't know if I'm too old for this but I'm definitely too tired, lol. I'm watching quite a lot of Buddy Holly and Bo Diddley clips, atm. The songs are all 1m 20s, 1m 54s. It's freakin' brilliant, lol. :D

The night 125,000 fans descended on Liverpool to see king of pop Michael Jackson

By Lee Grimsditch 18:42, 24 JUN 2021 - Liverpool Echo

On Sunday, September 11 1988, Michael Jackson Moonwalked on stage at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool as part of the world tour to promote his album Bad

In scenes not seen since The Beatles' heyday, pop megastar Michael Jackson brought the city to a standstill when he brought his Bad Tour to Aintree Racecourse.

That show on on September 11, 1988, wasn't the first time Michael Jackson had visited the city many regard as the world capital of pop music.

The Jackson 5 first came to Merseyside back in 1972 when they played for excited fans at the Liverpool Empire.

The group included 14-year-old lead singer, Michael, with the gig foreshadowing the future superstar he was later to become.

On the day of the sell-out Liverpool Empire concert, Joe - the dad of the band members - had to stop the performance on two occasions and plead for calm amongst the hysterical fans who were trying to storm the stage.

By the time he returned to Liverpool, 16 years after his first visit, excitement to see the 30-year-old superstar was on yet another level.

Michael had gone on to become the most famous person in the world and his performance at the racecourse was the final British date of his iconic Bad tour.

He arrived in Liverpool by helicopter at Speke airport and his entourage travelled to the city centre in three black limousines under police escort.

During his stay, the superstar took over an entire floor of the Atlantic Tower hotel, requesting the then £100 a night Port of Liverpool Suite.

Down at Aintree Racecourse, 125,000 fans - who had each paid £16.50 for a ticket - poured into the venue, some having queued for hours to try and get the best view of the star.

Singer Kim Wilde was the support act, and [Jackson's] two-hour set included a Beatles medley in tribute to his Liverpool heroes.

The ECHO report of the concert published the day after said: "The mystery man of modern music kept us guessing about his arrival time right up to the end.

"Helicopters flying overhead and the flashing lights of passing police vans all caused a stir among fans desperate for the first glimpse of Michael Jackson - Superstar.

"When the Peter Pan of pop finally bounded on to stage at 8.15, he was greeted by a Scouse version of Close Encounters.

"Spotlights in the darkness illuminated a crowd equal to one-third of the population of Liverpool all there for the greatest sound and music show on earth."

I didn't post a link bc they use the 'J' word which I will not tolerate so did copy and paste.

This I wanna see. I thought at this point these scenes only happened in the US but apparently the mania in the UK was just as big. So much footage lost in time, lets have a moment of silence.

Uhm what? Do I misunderstand ?this is wrong info?!
