Does it have any similarities with Throwing Your Life Away? From what I've heard, I can definitely rank the "gems" as followed
- gem#2: Buffalo Bill

I even think a fair share of these were completely finished in MJ’s mind as well. I don’t see how he could perfect SPYHO, Superfly Sister or FAT.This comes down to semantics imo. If you don’t love me, work that body, serious effect, superfly sister, monkey business, someone put your hand out, mind is the magic, what about us (to an extent), slave to the rhythm, For all time are all fully produced songs. Maybe not finalized to the point of MJ standards but still. That is more than just 1-2 outtakes. The same goes for Bad which have even more fully produced songs.
It's pretty well produced. The version I heard was a rough mix from 1990.Is it finished? Or is it at the level of completion of most of the Havenhurst demos?
Both are different songs.Does it have any similarities with Throwing Your Life Away?
How many complete unreleased songs have you heard? Roughly ?From what I've heard, I can definitely rank the "gems" as followed
- gem#1: Streetwalker (the outtake, not the boring Bottrell mix on Bad 25)
- gem#2: Buffalo Bill
- gem#3: there ain't any other song (I've heard) that I'd categorize as a "gem"
It's formulaic as a Darkchild song with the structure and melodies which is why I believe it fails to be noteworthy. It is similar to Invincible and Privacy in several ways. The adlibs at one point really remind me of 2000 watts as well. The beat is pretty different from the rest, more gritty and edgy. I think that the mix and master could be better (not a fan of the earrape drills and static sfx) although this could be fixed, it may have been with the 2004 remaster. The vocal is really pretty bad though which I think is the main issue. They left Lashawn Daniel's vocals on some parts and it feels very strange to me musically. Michael almost sounds off key. I can see why it wasn't released. Overall you're pretty accurate about it being generic and overhyped.'Can't Get Your Weight Off Of Me' is a very ordinary, generic song, let alone a hidden gem.
It is also musically very similar to the first 3 songs from the 'Invincible' album.
It sounds like you placed 'Unbreakable', 'Heartbreaker' and 'Invincible' inside a blender, and what you got is that track.
'Can't Get Your Weight Off Of Me' did not even make the 'The Ultimate Collection' box set, although the track is said to have been mastered for inclusion on that box set.
Both are different songs.
U are talking about victory or truth about youth ? Give me information about themIt's pretty well produced. The version I heard was a rough mix from 1990.
There's an earlier version recorded for Victory where the bros did backvocals.
Might as well "contemporize" it then. It's formulaic as a Darkchild song with the structure and melodies which is why I believe it fails to be noteworthy. It'd sound soooo weird lol. As disappointing as it sounds I hope they never release the song if they're really trying to protect mj's image. The song isn't a very good look for him considering that the vocal performance sounds like a mumble demo and the melodies make it seem like a ripoff of previous songs.Might as well "contemporize" it then.
Why u are saying stupidityIt'd sound soooo weird lol. As disappointing as it sounds I hope they never release the song if they're really trying to protect mj's image. ?Why u are saying stupidity
U Said get your weight off of me is werid song
I said it would be weird if contemporized.U Said get your weight off of me is werid song
Lol yeah. I've spoken with multiple people who have/have heard the song. Not a single person has said it was good interestingly. Why is is stupidity I heard it from numerous different people online that it is not a very good song
Please can u tell me what they said about it how it isLol yeah. I've spoken with multiple people who have/have heard the song. Not a single person has said it was good interestingly.
Generally just that it's bad lol. Everyone noted that the vocals are mumble like (they definitely are) and that it's just not good. I personally completely agree although I like the beat. Please can u tell me what they said about it how it is
The song cannot possibly be any worse for me than Privacy. I even like the Casio songs.Generally just that it's bad lol. Everyone noted that the vocals are mumble like (they definitely are) and that it's just not good. I personally completely agree although I like the beat.
Given that there's a part of the song that literally uses almost an almost identical melody and lyric from Privacy, I wouldn't get your hopes up lmaoThe song cannot possibly be any worse for me than Privacy. I even like the Casio songs.
Agreed. It should also be noted that there is also an earlier version of Little Susie (from some point in the early 90s I assume? there's not much info about it) that was recorded with a full orchestra that we've never heard. The version on the HIStory album was all redone with synthesisers and samplers by Porcaro and a couple other guys as a sketch because iirc MJ wanted to change the key or something like that. Either way, it ended up being the final instrumental used. I'd love to hear the live orchestra recorded for that song, it's a killer arrangement.Dang, part of me would love to hear the OTW-era version of Little Susie. It's one one of my favorite MJ songs and I had no idea it went that far back! Of course I know Michael would often work a long time on songs, but still. Interesting how little the music apparently changed during all that time. Shows that even back then, Michael already had some grand ideas for songs.
Some ad libs too lol.Given that there's a part of the song that literally uses almost an almost identical melody and lyric from Privacy, I wouldn't get your hopes up lmao
I'd say it is pretty close but i'd definitely rather listen to Privacy it goes over much smoother. The song cannot possibly be any worse for me than Privacy. I even like the Casio songs.
This sounds so phenomenal.Agreed. this would be so cool to hearAgreed. I find it interesting that everyone seems to think Hot Street is a gem. I always thought it was mid and generic.Rolling the Dice, hopefully. I'd love to hear it announced in the next couple weeks.
Hot Street, despite leaking, is definitely still a gem. A quality song that the public is less aware is exactly what a gem qualifies to be, and even if it's not put out on T40, there's still plenty left to do with it.
My hopes can't be that high for an outtake lolGiven that there's a part of the song that literally uses almost an almost identical melody and lyric from Privacy, I wouldn't get your hopes up lmao
I'd lower your hopes completely. Fans should hype something else instead. Like Chicago 1945.My hopes can't be that high for an outtake lol
The only hype I have is for the Will I Am tracks and that's within reason too. I have hope only to get to the point where I can listen to it.I'd lower your hopes completely. Fans should hype something else instead. Like Chicago 1945.
MJ himself liked it. And Rod Temperton never made a bad song.I find it interesting that everyone seems to think Hot Street is a gem. I always thought it was mid and generic.
