Yeah, because Tidal would steal your money. Plus, it seems like these upgraded versions were released too early because it's not on YT yet.
 
Smart move to get it on Tidal - I had hopes for Netflix also. An entire MJ section with all his musikvideos and Thriller and The Making of Thriller, Ghosts, The making of Ghosts and Caprain EO etc.
YouTube does not offer best quality and they have a lot of compression.
 
Waiting until the highest quality versions are available before I watch the full short films, but the quality looks incredible. 👍
 
It’s funny how mostly Old people always think companies Will use their visa/Mastercard info to steal or whatever they are affraid of 😂
Tidal offers a free trial period and after that it is fairly cheap to have.
This is a great move from the Estate.

People need to rip that in the right way. mostly they did it in the wrong way.

There is a tts file and mp4. thats strange. If they are from the same platform its normally that they have the same format. And thriller have to be much bigger. (its only 1080). Replay media catcher is maybe the idea. i dont know that channel. but there are other rip apps out there.

they are not from same platform. that's why tech specs are different
 
They look great.
1080p so far, but amazing what they did with it.

Did a quick comparison with a bootleg recording of the 2017 3D showcase vs. the HD upload:

Look at where his wrist starts, plus left and right of the screen. It seems like the 3D print was cropped at the top and bottom.

And here with the wide street shots, it seems to confirm the same..
I might be dead wrong though, I never saw the 3D screening IRL...
 
The extra data on the 16:9 version is tiny. Don't think it's worth so much image being cut off. Of course I understand it being made for the Cinema screen version, though.

well, then i might be wrong about the cropping... i was sure it wasnt cropped :D
 
Those imax pictures are cropped at the top. You can’t see the bottom I think as they’re hiding their cameras, so the bottom black bar is a chair 🙃
 
i have the bad guess that they will put out "billie jean munich" as one of the videos.....
 
The 4K version of Thriller should be up on YouTube on a few days. Although compression is a bitch, their 4K codec is much better than the x264 one.
