I want to speak for myself here: most streaming services have the worst possible masters of each album and they sound like crap. It's not even respectful to MJs work and vision of his own craft to listen to them if you ask me.I don't think that fans need to make other fans feel guilty for wanting to listen to new Michael Jackson material
No they paused projects the last years because of Leaving Neverland and Covid. They clearly stated it.The Estate already has changed. They canceled HIStory 25. Cuz no one wanted it.
But vast majority of people in 2022 consume music via streaming.I want to speak for myself here: most streaming services have the worst possible masters of each album and they sound like crap. It's not even respectful to MJs work and vision of his own craft to listen to them if you ask me.
I understand the convenience factor which plays a major role, but people who have only listened to MJ music on streaming platforms have never really listened to it at all.
Streaming is directly supporting them financially, same as buying their products like cds, merch, etc whether we like it or not which sucks. No need to shame anybody thoughThis concept of supporting the Estate is complete nonsense, in my opinion. When I am listening to Thriller 40, for example, I am not supporting the Estate, at least in my mind. I am simply listening to new music from my favourite artist. I am fulfilling my own personal satisfaction. I am not listening to Thriller 40, thinking that I am making John Branca rich. That thought doesn't even cross my mind. I don't think that fans need to make other fans feel guilty for wanting to listen to new Michael Jackson material or going to MJ Musicals.
But why should I not listen to Thriller 40? Because certain fans aren't happy with the quality of the products released by the Estate? Personally speaking, I was happy with Thriller 40. It wasn't perfect, but it had many redeeming qualities. There are certain fans that will complain about every single product that the Estate puts out. So I am not going to give up on consuming new music from Michael Jackson, just to please the likes of Damian Shield and co.no nonsense at all..
It's same with TV shows... if a tv-show is not watched by enough people it will be canceled.
If not enough people buy a certain release the next release will be different.
I did not clearly read it. I was just being facetious thoughNo they paused projects the last years because of Leaving Neverland and Covid. They clearly stated it.
Because they realized just on time all the extra tracks were terribleI did not clearly read it. I was just being facetious though
What was the reason for no Dangerous 25 tho?
Unfortunately yes. I refuse to listen to loud muddy masters myself, but do yourselves! But vast majority of people in 2022 consume music via streaming.
Oh we got ourselves a critic over here!Because they realized just on time all the extra tracks were terrible![]()

Normally, anniversary reissues are saved for albums that are popular amongst the public. Even though Dangerous sold over 30 million albums, Michael's three most popular albums are Thriller, Bad and Off The Wall and all three received anniversary reissues. Dangerous sadly is a more of a forgotten album, just like most of Michael's work post 80s.What was the reason for no Dangerous 25 tho?
I'm sure we'll get anniversary reissues at the 50th anniversarysNormally, anniversary reissues are saved for albums that are popular amongst the public. But having said that, I do hope that someday we get an anniversary reissue of Dangerous, History and Invincible.
I imagine the real reason, rhetorical questioning notwithstanding, is they wanna use those dangerous outtakes for posthumous releases. Work That Body, If You Don't Love Me, and Serious Effect have quite a lot of hit appeal actually.I'm sure we'll get anniversary reissues at the 50th anniversarys
Not Work That Body. That song is awful.I imagine the real reason, rhetorical questioning notwithstanding, is they wanna use those dangerous outtakes for posthumous releases. Work That Body, If You Don't Love Me, and Serious Effect have quite a lot of hit appeal actually.
But it's fun..Not Work That Body. That song is awful.
Never said my opinion matters. After all, I ain't the one complaining people support the Estate.*Rest of the world continues on, ignoring the man screaming at clouds*
“Billie Jean” was released as a single in January 1983, so perhaps they scheduled this to coincide with its 40th anniversary and the doc? Great idea if so, though weird that they released the first two shorts so far in advance.MJ Estate 2022 Wrapped
Next Month: Billie Jean 4K MV (I think it's Jan or Feb 2022) and Thriller documentary
I speculated this a little while ago. Billie Jean 40th Anniversary. Though I thought it was in March.“Billie Jean” was released as a single in January 1983, so perhaps they scheduled this to coincide with its 40th anniversary and the doc? Definitely an interesting thought, though if they were going that route, why not then hold off releasing “Beat It” 4K until the single’s 40th anniversary in February? Too many questions, though I’m excited to see the answer.I speculated this a little while ago. Billie Jean 40th Anniversary. Though I thought it was in March.
Is it true?MJ Estate 2022 Wrapped

With that theory...I doubt bj will be in 4k everDefinitely an interesting thought, though if they were going that route, why not then hold off releasing “Beat It” 4K until the single’s 40th anniversary in February? Too many questions, though I’m excited to see the answer.
Simply too long. When was Thrillers 40th?Definitely an interesting thought, though if they were going that route, why not then hold off releasing “Beat It” 4K until the single’s 40th anniversary in February? Too many questions, though I’m excited to see the answer.
Sonic Fantasy is just taking a long time. The director is very transparent on Twitter and hasn’t said anything about the estate, so I’m assuming he’s still looking for a distributor.Thriller 40 campaign is all but over. The Thriller documentary is way late in being released should have be out for Thanksgiving. Unless it’s on Netflix when released hardly anyone will see it. What about Sonic Fantasy is the Estate blocking a release? Hardly anyone even knows about Thriller 40 except us fans. Thriller 4k should have dropped for Halloween wtf is the Estate even doing?
Technically speaking, it can be scanned in 4K, but won't be truly 4K. More like super crisp 1080p.Wasn’t it already established that Billie Jean, having been shot using 16mm film cameras, can’t be converted to 4K?
