What Are You Listening To?

Here's Kate Bush's debut appearance on TOTP. Later on they tidied her up a bit, her hair was a bit more groomed. Also, she did a lot more gurning later on which I wasn't up for. But this performance? Unvarnished, untamed Kate Bush. Awesome.

@wendijane - who even knows if the tag will work?

When I'm not running PoF in my head I'm listening to lots of Toyah, revisiting lots of old faves and this tv performance which I love. She's miming and she's not even bothering to do it properly. Which is fine bc it's not about that. :ROFLMAO:

Absolutely love this. A perfect tv moment, imo.

Her style was awesome early on. Not keen once she turned herself into a pop star but this is classic Toyah. No concessions to the music industry. No 'sexy girlie' nonsense. That can be fine, it doesn't have to be bad. Cyndi's outfit for her Paris gig on her True Colors tour is sexy but still badass! But Toyah just didn't do that type of sh#t and I loved her for it. She got a lot of her outfits from Melissa Kaplan and they were great. She didn't look like a punk, she didn't look like a hippie, she didn't look like anyone else. She was just Toyah.

ohh shes giving Rockpop what for isn't she ?
She's really going for it. LOVE it! So much energy. She's like a fireball, blasting around the stage.

her freedom of art expression , love that
Yeah, she's unstoppable. I love the fact that the camera can hardly keep up with her. I think there's another one, now I come to think of it. They're doing an outside appearance and the camera is really struggling to keep up with her. :ROFLMAO:

this could very well go into my "what daydreams do you have about michael" thread since i daydream of michael while listening to this song + other slower quincy jones arrangements... but i digress lol

I was going through the tv channels and caught the end of something called “quincy jones symphonic”. They were playing thriller, Quincy was present as well.
Last 2 songs performed were thriller and let the good times roll (at least that is what I think the title must have been.
So what other Joseph Jackson music did they play as I couldn’t find a setlist for it online?

does anyone else here really like Daft Punk?

me and my friend listened to the entirety of this album along with the movie it accompanies (Interstella 5555). probably my favorite Daft Punk album now (besides Random Access Memories)

kid y'all not this is probably my favorite music genre ever. yacht rock + adult contemporary, a funky nostalgic genre blend that's like heaven to my ears. and i get so joyous when i discover new songs like this... i don't even know what memories these kinds of songs evoke in me. probably the memories of my past life...

I’m listening to @DuranDuran 😜
Frank Sinatra quoted in a book by Bill Zehme. 'The Way You Wear Your Hat: Frank Sinatra and the Lost Art of Livin'

"A fella came up to me the other day with a nice story. He was in a bar somewhere and it was the quiet time of the night. Everybody's staring down at the sauce and one of my saloon songs comes on the jukebox. 'One For My Baby' or something like that. After a while, a drunk at the end of the bar looks up and says, jerking his thumb toward the jukebox, 'I wonder who he listens to?' ... "
