Let's end the confusion about MJ's unreleased tracks here

When the estate releases Chicago 1945 I hope they change its name to Chicago Nights, it's a more intriguing title. I bet that MJ was eventually going to make that the title anyways since he says "Chicago night" more than he says "Chicago 1945" on the song. C1945 was probably just a working title.
Chicago Nights is also seen in Moonwalker before Michael walks into the club….wasn’t that the working title?

Sounds like “She Don’t Love Me” is a prime candidate for another future “Don’t Matter to Me” type collaboration. I know many of us dread something like that happening, but under the right circumstances I would be thrilled.
Other potential ideas:

Turn it into a full song using random lyrics and vocal takes, ala "You Don't Fool Me" by Queen.

Mash it up with another incomplete song, maybe with verses and no chorus.

Give it to the Jackson's for their next album, or Janet. Let her/them create something with it.

Use it as a sample, like Brandy's "It's Not Worth It".

If it's got lyrics, put it on a tribute album....

The Estate should respect what's left of Michael's legacy and just name things what they were intended to be named.

The last thing they deserve is a fan's approval for creative licence.

Considering this is March 1987, there's probably a decent chance that Chicago Nights was on the Bad tracklist at this point
Considering the song is called "Chicago 1945", there's a decent chance the working title for the movie was simply based on the aesthetic in the Smooth Criminal video.

Is there any information about early variations of the Bad tracklist? There's that early Dangerous tracklist that was leaked, but I've never seen the same for Bad

I don’t understand why so many people think Chicago Nights is Chicago 1945. The former is simply a working title for the short film. I doubt the idea for Moonwalker existed in early 87’, so they had to call the project something. Given that the song Smooth Criminal is only a small part of the actual film, the title Chicago Nights is very suitable.

Does Michael sing "Chicago 1945" in the song? (No, I still have not heard Chicago nor Dream Away)

Don't get slick buddy.
Average MJ fan afraid of change lmao

It's just a title change, it's no big deal. A title that would flow better than its current name. People are acting as if it's changing the song entirely like it's a remix, which at that point I would understand the skepticism since the remixes sound worse than the demos more often than not. A simple name change isn't all that important.

He sings it twice compared to "Chicago night" which he sings 14 times. Another reason why "Chicago Nights" fits more as a title.

I think being afraid of change and not having a weird desire for everything to be changed for no reason are different things lol.

A title change isn't changing the whole song, it's a change that barely even matters and would actually fit the song better.

I don’t really feel one way or the other about songs being retitled if (a) MJ didn’t write them, as is the case with “Chicago,” and (b) the original songwriter/producer is onboard. Since MJ wrote “Chicago 1945,” I wouldn’t be the biggest fan of retitling it, but it’s not something that would bother or upset me.

What was the story behind Fly Away? That seems finished. That was recorded at Westlake, right? How close was that song to being put on the BAD album?
