Maybe he's talking about the Single/Music Video. That'd be 1983.But then recently he claimed it was recorded a week after Thriller dropped, which would be December 1982.

Good point! That would definitely track.Maybe he's talking about the Single/Music Video. That'd be 1983.
Listened through just now, and I’m still a little lost. It sounds as though Porcaro came up with the instrumental shortly after Thriller, which is feasible. This should clear up some confusion https://vocaroo.com/1hKtBs7GrIfh
So, C45 made it to Westlake (in 1986??). Interesting. This should clear up some confusion https://vocaroo.com/1hKtBs7GrIfh
Did Al Capone make it out of Hayvenhurst? So, C45 made it to Westlake (in 1986??). Interesting.
This means the entire "crime trilogy" songs (C45/AC/SC) have been worked on at Westlake to some degree under Qs supervision.

His original story was C45 was recorded a few months before the Victory tour started….so that could be anywhere from January to June 1984Listened through just now, and I’m still a little lost. It sounds as though Porcaro came up with the instrumental shortly after Thriller, which is feasible.
According to Bruce Swedien AC was among the submitted songs.I don’t think Capone made it to Westlake….C45 was probably played but he didn’t say it was worked on
Roger Troutman mentioned recording the song with Michael at Hayvenhurst and John Barnes said the song wasn’t finished….if it did make its way to Westlake, I don’t think it was worked on any further than what we hear since Smooth Criminal was already done by 1986According to Bruce Swedien AC was among the submitted songs.

Just get Kendrick instead of Drake on it. I'm all ears.Sounds like “She Don’t Love Me” is a prime candidate for another future “Don’t Matter to Me” type collaboration. I know many of us dread something like that happening, but under the right circumstances I would be thrilled.
We still haven't heard the Al Capone version featuring Roger Troutman.
"He [Roger Troutman] worked with us on several early Bad tracks. It wasn't kept but it felt and sounded great. Tomboy and Al Capone."
"Roger was not on smooth criminal or the way you make me feel. As far as tomboy, I didn't make it and was not fully completed. Al Capone had
Roger as a guest Muscian. The track was mostly done when he came in."
- John Barnes
Definitely wouldn't add another musician to have to pay royalties to. Especially right smackdown in the middle of QJ lawsuit days.Wonder why that version wasn't used for B25?
Off topic, but shouldn’t it be ‘smack-dab’?Definitely wouldn't add another musician to have to pay royalties to. Especially right smackdown in the middle of QJ lawsuit days.
You don't have to say off topic every time you go off topic.Off topic, but shouldn’t it be ‘smack-dab’?

Pretty funny, isn’t it?Also, we'd have
She Was Lovin Me
Loving You
She Don't Love Me
But Chicago is a bad name change? Never mind about Chicago 1945.
I prefer “Chicago” as the title and never quite understood the fuss about it.But Chicago is a bad name change? Never mind about Chicago 1945.

Chicago Nights is also seen in Moonwalker before Michael walks into the club….wasn’t that the working title? When the estate releases Chicago 1945 I hope they change its name to Chicago Nights, it's a more intriguing title. I bet that MJ was eventually going to make that the title anyways since he says "Chicago night" more than he says "Chicago 1945" on the song. C1945 was probably just a working title.

"“She Don’t Love Me” has a non-mumbled chorus, but it’s so short you could blink and miss it. Rocker has a powerful chorus, but MJ blows the mic out by singing too loud/too close to the mic."
Reminds me of WII adlibs "she don't she don't want me / she don't she don't need it ..."
