New Michael Jackson figure from Blitzway!

How much is that bust? $4500 or something?
Crazy money, and they say there is no market for niche products like collectors boxsets with unreleased music and or concerts! I would be all over it if it was a boxset with bad/victory/triumph tour concerts.

I really really really really want the Dangerous tour one but I can’t because it’s like a bajillion dollars and I can’t make my mom buy me stuff with THAT price tag.

Yeah I know my parents wouldn't have paid that much for anything for me lol. You might need to combine birthday and Christmas for it. But I reasoned with myself as to why I would buy it, and that is I wont really be buying any other expensive MJ memorabilia at any point. "This Is It" to coin the phrase.

i prefer the bust to the Superbowl 93 i think the Superbowl 93 doesnt lkook like m at all

I think it looks like an "idealized" version of Michael Jackson, like its the Michael Jackson a lot of people imagine of that time and yet didn't quite exist exactly that way. Like the Mandella Effect MJ or something. But in truth Michael had a smaller face looking back at the photos. I also note a distinct lack of eye make up on the statue. But I think the statue is awesome.

Gosh i hope there's no Mandella Effect MJ is there ? lol
fair enough, i just found the face of it.. not pretty , if that makes sense ..Ah, then maybe it is the lack of eyeliner etc:unsure:

edit - uhuh nope... the jaw is so ..oh god, i can't unsee what i see :ROFLMAO:

Anyone receive a billing/shipping email yet? I think they said it would start shipping in October but I haven't heard a peep. >.>

Sorry, I can't take anything seriously when it says it's going to "transcend dimensions". What a load of nonsense.

Perhaps if we ignore these companies they will go away.

Annoying and useless comment disrespecting something people are just trying to enjoy.

People aren't trying to enjoy the products discussed in this thread... because they cost thousands of dollars.

Perhaps the companies exploiting Michael's image should spend a bit more time respecting the fanbase.

The figure is around $500 for the regular version.
I ordered one and will enjoy it.

The bust it kinda ugly (and expensive).

People can spend on what they want.

I'm not talking about what people spend their money on. I'm talking about the massive disrespect shown by these companies to their customers.

No I havent. They said quarter four which could be anywhere between now and New Years Eve.

Ah yeah, I do think I recall seeing that. Not sure why I was thinking of only October... maybe I was just hoping it would get here sooner, heh.

It's finally here! Anyone else on here who pre-ordered should be getting theirs soon, hopefully.

Pics and my review are below.

The good:
The detail is amazing! I know people tend to nitpick over how much a statue looks like someone, but I think this one gets it right.
Glad to see some Dangerous era rep on official merch.

The bad:
The assembly. There's a video manual from Blitzway that shows what I'm about to talk about:

Some parts of the statue have to be put together, those being the belts over the jacket, Michael's hands, ponytail, headset mic, radio for the mic, and sunglasses. The main statue also has to be inserted into the base, obviously. That part is easy, but the rest of the parts... not so much. You'd think there would be holes to insert the mic and sunglasses... but there aren't any. You kinda have to just press/mold them into Michael's head, and it's almost impossible. The headset is in two pieces, and one of them is VERY tiny and hard to work with. I actually dropped it a few times because of how hard it is to handle something so small/flimsy, and because it's so small I can see that part of the mic being very easy to lose. I wound up giving up on the mic entirely and put those pieces into a Ziploc bag and back into the box. I was able to the sunglasses on, but I do not trust them to stay on. The ponytail kinda seemed kinda hard to stay in, too, but I think I got it.

The belts were especially difficult; they hook together, but the hooks are SUPER tiny and hard to see. There seemed to be some kind of clear rubber bands on them that I wasn't sure if I had to remove first or not; but I got the belts hooked with those still on so I guess they're supposed to stay there. The last belt (the one that goes straight down over Michael's left side) also does not reach all the way down to his belt to tuck in like the video demonstrates. Maybe I'm supposed to stretch it a little more? I dunno... The radio thingy that goes in the back pocket was the easiest part, but I feel silly having it there and not having the headset since those are meant to go together.

The not bad but not good:
It's HUGE! I wish I had read the measurements more carefully before pre-ordering. I have like NO space for this anywhere (hence the rough environment with the Sailor Moon wallscroll in the background haha). I think I finally need to invest in one of those glass cabinets people put collectables into.
The box it came in was very nice and worth keeping for if/when you have to move into a new home. Unfortunately, I now need a space for this box, too...

That being said, when the statue is done, it looks AWESOME. I just wish some of the parts were easier to put in. I should also point out that this is on the Standard version and not the Black label version. Not sure if the Black label is any different, though I am curious now if it would have been easier to assemble the tiny parts on that version. There's no manual for that one out on Blitzway's channel yet, but we'll see.

Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. Just wish the tiny pieces were easier to put on. I do recommend it, but only if you can get it for much less than I did and have the space for it.

Mine has arrived today and I am so, so disappointed I have just emailed them for a full refund.

Michael's right leg is broken and the base has the "I" missing from his name - M C H A E L J A C K S O N

Its a shame as the quality looks good, but I cannot accept that.

That sounds really dreadful. hope it gets sorted fast. keep us dated please

That sucks! :( I'm sorry yours turned out like that.

I gotta admit I didn't think to check for spelling errors on mine. I checked the text on the front emblem and on top of the base just now and, thankfully, it's all spelled correctly. That is wild for them to have an error like that, though. Hope you can get a refund!

I'm not sure if you have the belts on upside down... From all the photos I've seen, the points on the belts overlap from top to bottom, point

I'm not sure but I think you have the belts on upside down... On the pictures I've seen, and on the original costume, the points overlap from top to bottom pointing down!

Either way, congratulations! It is stunning and I want one 😢

Thanks! And yeah I was second guessing the belts at one point... but I really, really don't want to unhook them and re-hook them because it was such a pain in the ass to hook them. Not to mention I tried to follow how the video manual faced them... I swore it looked fine in the video. Maybe I got confused, somehow?

Ugh... now I'm gonna have to do it, aren't I? ****...

Hey

Just to update on my issue as promised.

And I have to say, Blitzway aftercare have been amazing, understanding and very supportive.

They first of all offered a full refund to return the item. After speaking to them a little more, they then offered (after I asked about partial refund) 50% refund, along with that, also offered (and have now sent me) two videos on how to repair the leg (seems very simple) and are posting out the missing letter.

We agreed on the second option, as I love the item overall and nothing will impact the overall look, I was happy to progress with that.

Its should never have happened, was sloppy on their side, but credit where credit is due, they have been very sympathetic and accommodating
