This is awesome, thanks. I'll update my records.

Looking forward to more unreleased stuff in 2025 given the movie is coming. Woop Woop.

Should all MJ's demo's be public? I mean I like to hear it all for my own pleasure but I think it's mainly important for research and a general understanding of the artist that as much as possible is accessible, at least that's what I would say.

Isn't that what an Estate should do?

What about Stevie Wonder? It's long been rumored that Stevie has in his will that all of his unreleased music is to be destroyed upon his death. That includes the songs he produced for the Jackson 5. Stevie approved for Buttercup to be released on that Jackson 5 compilation.

I'm not sure if I understand you.. Do you agree with Stevie? Do you think The Estate should destroy MJ's demo's..?

Hi, thank you for all of these! I wasn't much around this year and most of these are new to me. Do you maybe have a link for the original files? I'm mostly interested in TYLA Neff-U 2010 mix. Thanks!

I'm saying that if that rumor is true, then Stevie's estate would have nothing to release other than the music he already put out there. I don't think that includes any Little Stevie Wonder era stuff, that's owned by Motown and wouldn't have anything to do with Stevie's estate. But everything starting from around 1971, Stevie owns the masters, including the officially released records. Stevie has many completed songs, not just demos. Sort of like Prince. Including entire albums that Stevie changed his mind about releasing.

That's an IA extended using the "leaked" snippet

I talked to the person who leaked that and he didn't tell me much about it. It was something like "tell others", just that.

I believe Kai, it sounds a bit real but the problem is that it has AI parts on top of it

Shout writer's demo is actually from 2016 it was just recent discover

That Shout demo sounds exactly like the released MJ version. MJ should not have been credited as one of the co-writers. Are the lyrics the same or did he change some of it to receive that co-writing credit?

Before recording the song, Michael would listen to the writer's demo and give directions according to what he wanted for the song. Then he recorded it if he wanted it

Generally MJ recorded his own guide/scratch vocal if he was making any musical or lyrical changes to a demo. I’m sure there are exceptions, but this seems to be the rule, especially during the Invincible era. Given that what we’ve heard of the “Shout” demo is the exact same as the final mix, you gotta assume MJ didn’t contribute at all and just took songwriting credit.

Maybe he contributed something before or during the recording of their demo..?

Shout has an MJ writing credit for the same reason everything on Invincible does. He didn’t write a single line on most of the songs but demanded credit for it to be included

I have to say that I'm disappointed that Michael didn't write a single line himself in Shout. But maybe he didn't change anything in the lyrics because he liked the song so much that he would have liked to write it himself.

Ah okay! Although I would totally understand it from Stevie's point of view (and also from MJ himself) I personally think the demo's hold much information about the artist and should be made public. Escpecially because Michael is so misunderstood. I would say it's way more important to make them public (with the context provided) than to let them gather dust or remix them

But some don't want certain things released. Paul McCartney tried a few times to get The Beatles song Carnival Of Light released, but it was blocked by Ringo Starr & George Harrison (who was still alive). I think Yoko Ono vetoed it too. Carnival Of Light is similar to Revolution 9 & the George Harrison solo album Electronic Sound, which are avant-garde songs. It's still unreleased. George Harrison didn't like the song and called it rubbish. On the other hand, I doubt that Paul would want the demo version of Get Back released, although the original lyrics (ig. "Pakistani") were a satire of English bigots, not what Paul or the other members thought themselves. But people today wouldn't know the background of it, and probably take it at face value, especially with PC & cancel culture. Although I guess the MAGA crowd would dig it.

It's the same with other forms of entertainment. Disney will never do anything with the movie Song Of The South. The only way to get that is by bootleg DVD or pirate sites. They even removed a ride based on the movie from Disneyworld.

At any rate, mainly hardcore fans of artists care about unreleased songs & demos. The general public only care about the bigger hits, not even the album tracks that are released. Oldies & classic rock radio stations mostly play the same 4 or 5 songs by the same artists over & over. Even if they had more hits than that.

Are we sure the songs are Bryan Loren's? MJVibe writes the following:
Unheard Michael Jackson Tracks Found, But Estate Declines to Buy
In December 2024, it was revealed that a collection of previously unheard Michael Jackson tracks had been discovered. These tracks, believed to be from the Invincible and HIStory eras, were met with excitement by fans. However, the Michael Jackson Estate declined to purchase the rights to these recordings, citing concerns about the authenticity and quality of the material.

Musgrove uncovered 12 tracks that Jackson worked on between 1989 and 1991. These songs, including titles like “Don’t Believe It,” “Seven Digits,” and “Truth on Youth” (a duet with rapper LL Cool J), offer a unique glimpse into Jackson’s creative process during the “Dangerous” album era.

Undeterred, Musgrove has partnered with the auction house Gotta Have Rock & Roll to sell the tapes. The auction, set to take place in New Jersey, will start bidding at $85,000. However, potential buyers should note that ownership of the tapes does not grant rights to distribute or monetize the music.

Gotta Have Rock and Roll’s president, Dylan Kosinski, told TMZ that the “cassettes are more valuable because they can’t be reproduced or released to the public,” calling the auction a “bigger deal” because the estate is still holding onto the originals. Michael’s collaborator, Loren, is said to have given the copies to the auction’s consignor.

Does the existence of this snippet mean that the 12 songs were sold?
