The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Destiny is excellent. Triumph is great. But what they both lack is Bruce's mixing and Quincy's sleek production. Triumph is mixed horribly and even MJ later admitted this.
I've always imagined what Destiny and Triumph would have sound like if they had been recorded and mixed by Bruce - especially one of favorite Jacksons songs, "that's what you get for being polite".

For decades it was rumoured to be 24 minutes. But I do wonder if someone mixed it up or exaggerated with the 14 minutes version?
That’s what a few people said. Fred Maze, who I believe passed away, mentioned an extended cut and one of Michael’s early associates confirmed a 30 minute version with more dancing but never gave details.

I wonder if Joe Pytka would shed more light

Maybe the part where Michael does the slow moonwalk shuffle at the end of TWYMMF Grammy performance was taken from the extra dance footage?
Could’ve been just a possible breakdown for the performance but who knows. We know there’s hours of footage from the short film and Michael and Joe wanted to turn it into a full film but scrapped it

I wonder how much new material was written and worked on during the HIStory era? It seems like Mike went to his vault and polished up a lot of previously written material for the album
Since the BOTDF album is basically HIStory left overs, even though some were written and recorded as early as 1989/1990, probably little to nothing. Brad said there were song titles and music but they were just song grooves

That's a good point mate, BOTDF was basically HIStory left overs.

I wonder if the short time period between the allegations, then HIStory becoming a new album rather than greatest hits was a factor. Similar to Dangerous and Decade?

It does seem like Mike polished off some demos for the backbone of the record, TDCAU, Earth Song, Tabloid Junkie, Come Together, Little Susie. Not that I'm complaining as they're some great songs

As much as I like Invincible, I wish he had done the same for this album and included songs like Throwing Your Life Away.

I recall Rob Hoffman saying 30-40 songs total were worked on during the sessions. A good chunk seems to be old material, and “worked on” doesn’t always mean MJ laid down vocals, but you gotta assume there are SOME brand-new songs.

Hot fun in the summertime is one i believe.

Feel like we still don't have clarity on how much of that MJ recorded lol.
I look at artists like Prince, who recorded full albums back to back with fans having track sheets and knowing what song was recording and overdubbed on exact dates while we play the guessing game with Michaels material lol. I know Michael has dozens of finished songs left but I also believe majority of his unreleased songs are nowhere near complete

I recall someone saying that MJ was on more of it than we’d expect—I think it was Casey Rain or somebody of that type?

Edit—found a tweet from him. Grain of salt, of course, but he’s been pretty consistent about this one song for a while. I recall he also had an article about it, but I don’t entirely remember where.

Yeah they also posted this which is why I said there's no clarity

That's right mate yeah, surely there's some brand new songs in there.

Remember that auction of HIStory tapes last year? There were loads of new titles in that collection and interestingly the Estate shut that auction down pretty quickly.
Maybe there's a couple of usable demos in there

I think those were songs for Angela Winbush and Rene Moore but there was one or 2 that were labeled for Michael and mixed by Bruce.

Do you guys believe Lord Jackson is being legit here? I’m skeptical, but he did get his hands on the complete multitracks for Smile very recently, and he leaked them among other small things, so who knows?

^ unless he recently didn't burgle somewhere, keep in mind that video's supposed to premiere on April 1st.😉

Not clicking that. He’s a thief (not really debatable). I think we must have some standards as fans, else morality is kinda out the window if we encourage it.
Oh yeah; he’s been looking for someone to help him out with stealing Sundberg’s other laptop, lol.

I’d give anything to never see the word AI affiliated with MJ again.

Premiering on April Fool’s Day. Definitely fake.
