We don't know whether it's updated posthumously or not.I still think Who Do You Know was slightly modernized. We'll probably never really know.

I’m usually against harassing MJ collaborators on social media, but his political posts just make me so sad. We gotta get back to asking him questions.Any new Bill tweets on MJ?
By chance, what's his affiliation?I’m usually against harassing MJ collaborators on social media, but his political posts just make me so sad. We gotta get back to asking him questions.
Indeed, it is kind of pathetic that it’s full of political stuff. That’s why I barely check his account these days… but always love those nuggets of info he reveals on MJI’m usually against harassing MJ collaborators on social media, but his political posts just make me so sad. Right about now he's making a book featuring those recording dates so I don't know if he'll be answering much in the way of questions until then.I’m usually against harassing MJ collaborators on social media, but his political posts just make me so sad. We gotta get back to asking him questions.
Let's hope it'll be more than just recording dates. I wanna know everything on his uncredited contribution to the Bad era songs.Bills life doesn't exactly revolve around Michael so I wouldn't expect to see postings about him daily unless a question is asked but I hope he follows through with the book or a section on his website discussing the recording dates
The guitar doesn't sound like something that would've been on the track circa 1980/81.Why exactly do people think it was changed and the other tracks on thriller 40 weren't?
Why do you think so?The guitar doesn't sound like something that would've been on the track circa 1980/81.
Very far right. Don’t want to turn this into a political debate, but as somebody who does not align with him in any sense, it’s just a bummer to see.By chance, what's his affiliation?
How? And why?I still think Who Do You Know was slightly modernized. We'll probably never really know.
The guitar on Who Do You Know sounds too modern to me. I just don't think it would've been on the original recording from 1980 or 81. That's just the sense I get when I hear it.Why do you think so?
What indicates that modernness? The guitar on Who Do You Know sounds too modern to me.
Maybe it's a mix from 1984. The liner notes states WDYK was considered for Victory.I just don't think it would've been on the original recording from 1980 or 81. That's just the sense I get when I hear it.
I see. Thank you.Very far right. Don’t want to turn this into a political debate, but as somebody who does not align with him in any sense, it’s just a bummer to see.
Agreed. Victory was already 15 songs deep by March 1983 and while WDYK was probably a thought during the very beginning of Victory, I don't think any work was done on it since it literally sounds nothing like what's on the album. That song would've stuck out like a sore thumbRegarding Who Do You Know, I don‘t have a definite or confirmed answer to what mix was used but I have seen a date from around Late 1981. The mention that it was considered for inclusion on Victory doesn‘t mean that it was even slightly worked on, just that Michael noted the title down for considerations.
This is gonna be such a random tangent but I literally just got this phrase just now lol. I literally had a sore thumb once. Jammed it backwards on vacation, it swelled like a puffer fish. Had to be wrapped and everything. That song would've stuck out like a sore thumb
Which song? if you don’t mind me asking. Also they could've very well created a new mix from the multitracks. Most of them, when mixed direct from the source, sound as new as the day they were recorded.
Believe me, I've mixed a track that's available on Youtube in mid-tier quality. You wouldn't believe how much clarity it had while I was mixing it.
Rather curious how you found out they had 15 songs by March ‘83? Surely recording didn’t properly start until November?Agreed. At 4:20, they mention having 15 songs selected for Victory with the tour starting that summer. This is from 1983 after the Motown 25 performance.Rather curious how you found out they had 15 songs by March ‘83? Surely recording didn’t properly start until November?
State of Shock being an exception of course to that Nov ‘83 date, using the original demo tracks replacing Freddie’s and MJ’s tracks.
I even think some of the ultimate collection demos were modernized and even some others that were releasedI still think Who Do You Know was slightly modernized. We'll probably never really know.
C'mon, man.I even think some of the ultimate collection demos were modernized and even some others that were released
Scared of the moon has an added orchestra and even the Wbss demo was definitely editedC'mon, man.
The orchestra was added when MJ was alive and trimming a track down is not remixing or modernising.Scared of the moon has an added orchestra and even the Wbss demo was definitely edited
