The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Question in between: I guess the bridge for 'Hollywood Tonight'/'She's Only Fifteen' was never recorded..? Or could it be?
(I mean it's not on the released version but neither was the David Wiliams stuff)
I was lucky enough to hear the actual 2008 demo at a seminar with Brad Buxer and Michael Prince. The lyrics were exactly the same as the demo I remembered. There might have been one extra line, but I'm not sure anymore.

Was it the same version as this one or was it a bit different ?

Does anyone know where the "Hollywood Tonight Alternate Version" Sven Nelson posted fits into all this? The one with the rhythm guitar. I've heard people say it was considered the best version of the song that's out there but it definitely is different sounding to the version Brad Buxer says was the best.

I think you're referring to the Neff-U mix made in 2010

Do you refer to this video? If so, it's not what you think it is. As already stated by others, it's the Neff-U mix.

The version you're referring to is one of the 2 mixes Neff-U made for the Michael album but were scrapped in favor of Teddy Riley's remixes. Nothing from the 2008 version got carried over to the Rock mix, though, as the guitar overdubs are performed by 2 different guitarists.
An unreleased version of Michael Jackson's "Hollywood Tonight" that was considered for the controversial 2010 'MICHAEL' album has surfaced online.

The track, which was uploaded to yourlisten.com by Faster Pussycat lead guitarist Ace Von Johnson five months ago, was produced by former Jackson-collaborator Ron "Neff-U" Feemster and engineered by James Murray in 2010.
During production on the track Murray brought Von Johnson in to record guitar overdubs and a solo on the bridge. Von Johnson considers the solo his favourite he has ever written.

"The engineer was a buddy of mine and invited me to come down to lay down some tracks," recalls Von Johnson in an interview with metalliville.com. "I did some stuff on a tune that they cut from the album at the last minute."

The record label, Epic Records, felt that the versions Neff-U was turning in for consideration were lacking something. They then had the files delivered to Teddy Riley who crafted a percussive beat box from Jackson's vocal scraps that served as the foundation for the track. and added a spoken bridge featuring the King of Pop's nephew Taryll. Riley's version was ultimately selected and released on the 'MICHAEL' album. Neff-U was given a co-production credit for laying the groundwork of the mix, along with Brad Buxer who produced the original demo with Jackson.

For the past four years the Neff-U/Ace Von Johnson version, which keeps relatively true to Jackson and Buxer's original demo, has remained unknown to fans around the world -- until now."

Released or not, that was a big deal for me," adds Von Johnson. "I'm proud that I'm lucky enough to be able to play music for a living. Most people never will never know what its like to achieve that."

No clue. Are you sure it's the same Michael Jackson this forum is about?!?

I think that the mix that is supposedly from 2008 is actually a posthumous mix. It was said that Neff-U did more than one mix for Sony and the Michael álbum. These snippets are just from a W.I.P mix

The snippets were played during the podcast in the context of Neff-U doing remixes of the song for the Michael album, so it's posthumous, yeah.

Still don't understand where are the "60 or 80 songs recorded for Invincible" ?

It looks like there were only 30 songs recorded : the 16 songs in the Invincible and the dozen released in TUC and Xscape.

Where are the others ? We have no informations, no snippets about...

Rodney has either most or all of them.

Second is Neff-U's Rock Mix from 2010
Also, theres an unleaked mix of the Rock/Guitar Mix.
The leaked one is V2.

Supposedly MJ worked on the song in 2002 according to the leaked LQ recording that was called Bottle Of Smoke, and the 2007/2008 version

I don't know if this was posted here, but a DAT tape of the Wyclef sessions was put on Ebay

Love that they say "this appears to be in good condition, but we do not have the equipment to prove it", lol.

I guess it's reference tracks by Wyclef Jean to show Michael what the tracks were like, doubt there are any MJ vocals on it, but who knows ?
