I believe I have found the day mix that I think is better.
It exists on a DAT which I haven't found a secure way to transfer to a usable file yet

Thanks. But these DATs are digital tape cassettes, common in the 90's.
The dangers are 1. A tech making a copy. 2. The old cassettes malfunction and the song is lost.

So funny, because I totally get that šŸ˜…. Sometimes you start a project, you hit a point where you're stuck, you continue with other things and get back to it later... but the fact that there's years between starting and finishing a song is really mind-blowing. After a certain amount of time I, personally, would totally lose interest in working on "old" stuff again.
 
I'll laugh a lot if someone bought this and it turns out that it has UDIO AI version lol

Source for the other three? Already asked about BOW on Twitter and got my answer but I don't quite remember Bill talking about the other three having started in 1986.

It's all revealed by Bill in some his numerous tweets. Pretty sure, these haven been posted here in this thread, too.

All of them were basic tracking of ideas; no vocals.

It wasnā€™t meant to be an attack. I havenā€™t followed all the discussion about the tape and also didnā€™t check eBay myself. So if I am wrong, I am wrong.
 
Another unknown title that was considered for Invincible. Most likely MJ had never recorded vocals on this.

I think MJ has famously said to the effect that you canā€™t force good music. It takes time and itā€™s important to work on whatever feels important at the time. What speaks the strongest to you. Otherwise itā€™s mechanical work with less real emotion.

Thereā€™s good reason his released music is very authentic and representative of his mindset at each time. But also practical reasons things were released had much to do with team work and how far along producers were at any given time. And whether others on his team were really attuned to his visionā€¦

He seemed to work ā€by epiphanyā€, often calling people in the middle of the night with ideas on his ongoing workā€¦

Being the sole overseer of (over the years) many hundreds of songs and ideas is quite a task, especially for ā€OCDā€ folks like MJ.
And the old ideas had to compete with his ongoing creativity which was at times extremely productive.
I think the song lists found after his death show how structured he knew he had to be to get anything done.

Still, when something just took over his system, like Billie Jean which didnā€™t need too many embellishments, it could be perfected it in quite a short time.

But imagine ideas of that calibre that werenā€™t released for yearsā€¦ it makes sense that they would continue to speak strongly
Like releasing little suzy in the 90s

Some of the most heartfelt music grows slowly šŸ˜Š
