MESSAGES TO THE ESTATE

I read somewhere that they did 4 songs together but I can't seem to find the fourth song so that statement might not be true
Okay 3 officially released tracks. The man is on the same album as say say say - pipes of peace

Sorry I did a lot of research on this topic (I do a lot of research on Michael in general lol)

On April 26, Billy Idol will revisit his landmark album Rebel Yell for an expanded 40th anniversary edition replete with bonus material.
Among the previously unheard music on this collection is a cover of the 1978 Rose Royce single “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore,”
Why not celebrate this years 40th anniversary of Victory with previously unheard music? Who says that it's not allowed???

edit: Hi I'm back and I don't think this true because form all my searches there has only been 3 songs that they made together. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!! Thanks!
Paul wrote Girlfriend from Off the Wall
Then they sung Girl is Mine, Say Say Say and The Man together

They're not doing anything. They could just dump the unreleased demos and concert footage in a Google drive and we take care of the rest.

Paul wrote Girlfriend from Off the Wall
THEY CONSIDERED THAT THE FOURTH SONG??!?!???!?!??!?!??! I KNEW THAT PUAL WROTE THAT SONG BUT....I'm flabbergasted and mad at myself because I knew that Girlfriend was written by Paul this WHOLE TIME AND I NEVER CONSIDERED THAT IT MIGHT BE SEEN AS THE "4TH SONG MJ AND PMcC DID TOGETHER" I am SO mad at myself but it's ok cause now I know.

How about an MJ album of songs from recording sessions?
Paul McCartney and Wings' long-bootlegged One Hand Clapping album will finally get an official release.
The sessions were recorded in August 1974 at Abbey Road Studios when the band went into the venue to lay down some music for a documentary and a possible live record. The 55-minute show aired later that year but has been rarely seen since then. The accompanying record, however, has remained a favorite bootleg album for decades. The official release will arrive on June 14.
The project was recorded in four days by McCartney and Wings, who performed live-in-the-studio versions of favorites such as "Jet," "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "Band on the Run." The upcoming album features the tracks recorded for the show plus several numbers made off-camera.

Bowie fans get this box set
29 unreleased tracks, covers early songwriting demos, recordings from Bowie’s band, The Arnold Corns, rehearsals at Bowie’s then-home, Haddon Hall, BBC sessions, singles, live performances, plus outtakes and alternative versions from the original album recording sessions, which have been newly mixed by original album producer, Ken Scott.
Unreleased highlights include an alternative version of “Lady Stardust,” an unheard version of the deep-cut classic “Shadow Man,” and an up-tempo take of The Who’s “I Can’t Explain,” which he would later slow down and cover for the Pin-Ups album.
The audio-only Blu-Ray disc features the definitive 2012 remaster of the original Ziggy Stardust album in 96kHz/24bit PCM stereo, plus the album and additional mixes from 2003 in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 as well as the singles, outtakes and alternative versions in 96kHz/24-bit PCM stereo.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse have announced the release of Early Daze, a collection of mostly previously unreleased tracks from 1969.

The album includes 10 tracks recorded in 1969 by Young and Crazy Horse. While a couple have been previously released - "Dance Dance Dance" was on Archives Vol. I, "Cinnamon Girl" is featured in its original 7" mono mix from 1970 that has a guitar outro not on the Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere album version - most of the tracks are previously unreleased.

These include unreleased versions of "Winterlong," "Wonderin'" and "Helpless," as well as a take on "Down by the River" with alternate vocals. You can see the track listing for Early Daze below.

It's about time that Victory receives a little more attention.
Putting out a new version of Victory is not going to get it any attention. I never hear anything from the Victory on the radio, other than State Of Shock very rarely on the R&B oldies station. I hear Jackson 5 Christmas songs more often and they're only played in November & December. Billy Idol still gets regular radio airplay on Top 40 oldies & classic rock. Some of Billy's songs are also used in commercials & TV shows/movies. So he's heard by new audiences. The only Jacksons song that I hear that gets regular airplay is Shake Your Body.

MESSAGE TO THE ESTATE

Fans of other deceased artists are treated like royalty, unlike us:
Set for release on Aug. 1 is Sunset Boulevard, a 5-CD collection of material from Elvis Presley spanning recording sessions “The King” had at RCA’s recording studios in Los Angeles in the 1970s.
A press release notes that among the 89 rarities included in the set, more than half of them were previously unreleased in the United States.
According to the Minnesota Star Tribune, McMillan said a boxed set edition of 1985's Around the World in a Day is on the way.
Vinyl editions of the last two albums Prince released during his lifetime - 2015's Hit n Run Phase One and Hit n Run Phase Two - are also in the works. The estate kicked off the weekend activities by releasing a new acoustic version of "Free," from 1982's 1999.
Looking a bit further ahead, The Purple Stream reported that McMillan noted, "Next year is 2026 so everyone is going to see something from Parade." The 1986 album was home to the chart-topping smash "Kiss."

We could also put some of these posts into the petition, feel free to summarise 3-4 examples and post it there if you like. I want to finish it in the next 1-2 weeks :)

imagine this for MJs solo albums:

To be honest, that's boring as ****. The same album 6 times? 5 of those discs you're going to listen to once out of curiosity, then they'll gather dust for the next 40 years.

Oh, and it's $180? Lol.

We need to stop pretending that MJ fans want this kind of low-value nonsense.

You're always vocal on moaning, whenever the topic's about reissues. No one's forcing you to buy these type of sets.

Btw, out of curiousity, do you own "The Ultimate Collection"?

Real fans already have MJs albums. They don't need reissues. Especially when the sound quality is worse than the original.

You seem to be judging each release by how many discs it has.

In fact, the number of sales is inversely proportional to the number of discs. You're better having one great disc than 10 mediocre ones.

Going back to the Prince example, it's twelve vinyls?! If you just want 47 new tracks then just release them on three discs. Don't scatter them among all the rest of the filler. It makes it really hard actually to listen to.

Btw, out of curiousity, do you own "The Ultimate Collection"?
No. The value was extremely low. Plus the shops didn't actually have it. I don't need to buy Smooth Criminal and ABC again just to get a handful of new songs. They're just B-sides. I don't want to put on an album just to listen to one song.

The only thing on there that's really worth it is the Bucharest DVD, and the set sold so poorly that the DVD was later released on its own.

The Ultimate Collection had at least a dozen unreleased tracks, as well as single and alternative versions of tracks.

And I definitely bought mine in a shop -JB HiFi in Melbourne-, and in fact it was available in The Virgin Megastore and HMV as I remember seeing it.

And the Bucharest concert wasn’t released separately because The Ultimate Collection sold poorly, it was merely issued as a stand alone release to make a live Michael Jackson concert available to the casual public. The same way that the Wembley concert was released separately along with the Bad25 Super Deluxe, only that was released parallel to that release.

I’ve been a fan since 1985. Id like to think that I’m a “real fan”.

I don't think that would work, since Prince often has songs that average from 6 to 10 minutes long. The 12" version of America is around 23 minutes. On a recent reissue of the War album Why Can't We Be Friends, there is the previously unreleased 9 minute version of Low Rider. It was edited down because it was too long for the original record in the 1970s, unless they made it a double album. Just like Billie Jean was edited down on the Thriller album, but the longer version was released on a maxi single at the time.
