I know the estate will never do, but they really need to make “Originals” album like the prince estate did.

I would kill to hear that!Hopefully we get to hear the 1979 version of Little Susie with additional lyrics

According to Damien it's almost identical to the History version.I would kill to hear that!
I wanna hear this so badlyI would kill to hear that!
You could do that. At the LoC.I wanna hear this so badly![]()
I don’t think there’s a consensus there. Sundberg estimated that “Superfly Sister” originated in/around April 1990. No real clue on “She Got It,” though the general belief is that that one is from 1989.Which song existed first, She Got It or Superfly Sister? Or did they come into existence at the same time?
They're pretty similar, obviously both being Loren tracks.
Well, let's say, it's the closest MJ song Prince would have doneSide note: “She Got It” is one of MJ’s best outtakes and is a better Prince song than anything Prince has ever done. I say what I mean and I mean what I say.

Crappy ragebait attempt; try harder.Side note: “She Got It” is one of MJ’s best outtakes and is a better Prince song than anything Prince has ever done. I say what I mean and I mean what I say.
He said it before in a Rolling Stone magazine feature in 1992 as well: https://www.rollingstone.com/feature/michael-jackson-the-making-of-the-king-of-pop-240783/Bill on the intro of Black or White:
I threw it together for fun in '86 at Hayvenhurst.
MJ asked for it for the intro and we put Slash on instead of the guitar I played originally.
Truly baffling. Stunning song.Regular post gushing about Dream Away and how it's amazing we never heard a word about it before it was randomly played at a seminar.
And how he should not have done that maybe because it's just another incredible hidden treasure that's been spoiled.Regular post gushing about Dream Away and how it's amazing we never heard a word about it before it was randomly played at a seminar.
So there should be some good HIStory outtakes... did you hear that, Estate???Timestamp: 01:06:20
Brad Sundberg: Was there a song on the album you felt unsure of or think didn't fit on the album? *talks about DS*
Tony Black: I don't really know if I have enough contact with all the songs to know "ok that one shouldn't have made it". I can't really think of a song. *talks about hiphop* Everything felt like it belonged. There are some songs that I can't even tell you what they were. I do remember (songs) from different other contributers that didn't made the album I think should have. There is a lot of those where I thought "thats a good one", but then they're gone. Theres a bunch of Babyface collaborations that were amazing. And they hit the bin, I don't know.
The question is: How finished are these tracks? Most likely most of them in groove/idea/rough demo state. Would be great to have an interview with Babyface and René MooreSo there should be some good HIStory outtakes... did you hear that, Estate???
I would like to listen to "Ask Rene/DD" it should be completed especially since it started during the Dangerous sessionThe question is: How finished are these tracks? Most likely most of them in groove/idea/rough demo state. Would be great to have an interview with Babyface and René Moore![]()
Yeah, I'm also kind of bummed he won't get to finish the songs since he sold them.Truly baffling. Stunning song.
I do feel terrible for Steve Porcaro though. He kept it close to chest for 40 years, and the FIRST time he plays it outside of the estate hemisphere it leaks, alongside the song he’s been working for decades to have released (“Chicago 1945”). Just a sad situation.
Yes but we probably would never have heard it if it didn’t leak. And how he should not have done that maybe because it's just another incredible hidden treasure that's been spoiled.
If they are to be released he could still become further involvedYeah, I'm also kind of bummed he won't get to finish the songs since he sold them.
Nah, he's already said the estate just wanted the vocals from him and for him to go away.If they are to be released he could still become further involved
Just not on his own terms only…
As long as they release the original version as well, I’m happy with a contemporization. Chicago 1945 specifically has amazing vocals but the music is just… meh.Nah, he's already said the estate just wanted the vocals from him and for him to go away.
Well, we don't know to what extent Steve has altered the leaked mix. Was it just new live drums and restructuring?Chicago 1945 specifically has amazing vocals but the music is just… meh.
Or wed have something to look forward to still...Yes but we probably would never have heard it if it didn’t leak.
I forgot about this. This is why I’m not staunchly “MJ’s collaborators are the only people who should be allowed to work on his unreleased music” because some of them have horrible ideas or have put forward controversial work (e.g., Teddy Riley, Lenny Kravitz, Rodney Jerkins, Neff-U, the estate themselves). In the case of "Dream Away" it's honestly for the better that the Estate gets full control of the song. Reminder that Steve Porcaro said he wanted to give that song away to another artist since he couldn't finish the song, so if it hadn't leaked we probably would never have gotten to hear MJ's version.
