Did someone ever bought anything from fnac? Taxes to EU? Secure, safe, trustfull?

From Blu-Ray.com, the image looks fabulous, but the sound is compromised because although the new Atmos mix is great, it removes 1 or 2 lines originally recorded.
I would say the new mix is worse than the previous 5.1, some elements are all over the place and it really lacks in the low and high ends. Image is great tho

Not recently. But it used to be the biggest music chain in France. Should be reputable. It's already based in the EU, so I'd hope no taxes, that's the whole point of the EU, right?

Buying it from Amazon USA has the unknown risk of very high taxes. In the past they added the import taxes to europe. i have known how much i have to pay. Transparency. But since a few years they dont do that anymore. Thats why i am not buying anything from there since that. And its hard to get anything from the US anymore. Ebay is also a lot of risk. Some packages get lost, damaged. Very anoying. At least i got my money back.

You didn't say what country you're from. Fnac is French, and they're a huge company. When I lived in France, looking at the plastic bags people were using on the street, Fnac was by far the bag you saw most often, out of all the shops.

Just buy it from there.

I love the Fnac shops. I used to buy CD’s from a massive one regularly when spending summers in Portugal growing up, and anytime I’m in Spain I always find a Fnac.

I used fnac today. 55 Euro to europe, incl. shipping.
Amazon USA have 50% discount today. 25 Dollar only for the 4K Version. Normally its 50 Dollar. Also the Bluray have 50% discount (20 Dollar). For everyone there, cheap to get. I dont want to try Amazon, cause of the unknown taxes to europe. It shows me with shipping 39 Euro for the 4K version. But how much taxes?... i dont know.

That was fast. today i received it. just 4 days of wait. and in great contition. OK, its a hard plastic sleeve. Normally this does not get damaged on shipping.

What?

And now they cancel it, cause its bad quality? And sell it again in September?
I just bought it few days ago. i want to exchange it for free. not my fault.

anyone know where this official statement from criterion is?

There are news. I received today an email from Criterion...

Thanks for your patience as we looked into this.

I can confirm that our initial release of THE WIZ 4K UHD and Blu-ray have feature audio errors that are being corrected now.

If you have already purchased a copy of the film, please hold on to it and watch for follow up instructions regarding the process for receiving replacement corrected disc(s).

If you have not purchased your copy or have returned the one you bought, rest assured that the second pressing will be clearly marked and available for sale in the coming months.

We'll be in touch again as soon as we have more news to share regarding the updated release and replacement process.

Best,
Kseniya

News...

We have an update for you!

Here are the full details regarding THE WIZ replacement program:

We've made a correction to our 4K and Blu-ray editions of THE WIZ to fix issues with the feature ATMOS soundtrack.
We have also added an additional soundtrack to the release, the original theatrical 70mm 6-track soundtrack.

Please note that we are prioritizing replacements for fans who pre-ordered directly from Criterion.com, so those will go out first in the coming weeks, but anyone who has these first pressing discs is eligible for a replacement, regardless of where it was purchased.

If you would like us to add you to our queue now, please send us the following:
• Your name and US or Canadian mailing address that will be valid for at least the next month; please type this information out in the body of the email
• A photo of the defective disc(s) with your name and date written on the front/art side (using a sharpie or paint marker - you can write this info on the lighter portion of the disc, and take a photo against a light source so your name and date are visible). You do not need to break the disc.
• Note that if you purchased the 4K UHD + Blu-ray version, we need a photo of both marked discs; if you have the Blu-ray version only, a photo of the single disc is sufficient
• A snapshot of your original purchase receipt, if available

Replacement discs are estimated to start going out in late September to mid October.
Tracking will be emailed to you automatically from our Pitney shipping account once the discs are being packed.

Finally, please hold on to the issue disc(s) for now but discard them as soon as the replacement versions are received successfully.

If you have not yet purchased THE WIZ or plan to purchase additional copies, it will be back in stock later this month (September) and the updated version will have the text SECOND PRESSING on the cover art and the discs.

Let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Best,
Kseniya

I asked them, cause i am not from the US or Canada. If u are from Europe, you have to pay 12 Dollar for shipping costs to Criterion...

If the discs need to be sent internationally (outside of US and Canada, where the title is distributed), please send $12 USD to store@criterion.com via PayPal to offset some of our shipping costs. You will also need to open your copy and mark up the discs per the previously shared instructions.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Best,
Kseniya

Completely unacceptable. They made a mistake, that's not the customers responsibility to pay to have it fixed.

Just take them back to the store, get a refund, and buy another copy in 2026.
