Yeah, definitely doesn't sound like 1990 vocals to me. Who knows, though. So, the vocals we hear were recorded in 1990? Or there were additional/more complete vocals recorded in 1990?
It sounds more like 86/87 vocals to me.
Ah yes, recorded during the tour, but the instrumental is from 86/87?1988
I guess we'll find out whenever Bill decides to share his entire session calender.I kinda doubt there's more vocals personally.
Is it a true lossless file? The above is definitely an improvement on the version I have been listening to. The intro drums alone sound different, clearer. There is clipping on the synths still, they sound distorted but it's an improvement.
I have more different versions of Throwin' Your Life Away than I have of Smooth Criminal at this stage.
I'm the wrong person to ask.Is it a true lossless file?
Could be. There seems to be a roll-off/cut. If it's really sourced from a cassette, it could have been transferred using a "shit" deck, just like Pensacola. Is it a true lossless file?
I don't think a further-developed 1990 version exists. Wikipedia and the book "Making Michael" mentions an earlier set of sessions being done in September 1988 at Ocean Way Recording, and the vocal take we have comes from a session mixdown from September 8th.tyla wasn't name checked during the deposition.
Interesstingly, Bill says proper vocals were recorded at Ocean Way. To my knowledge they've moved to OW in 1990. This would mean, there's an advanced lyrical version out there - all the Estate has to do is locate the multitrack tape.
The track was done at Hayvenhurst in Dec. '86.It wasn't complete enough [to present to Q].
Vocals done at Ocean Way in early Dangerous sessions.
This could be a day mix from the vocal sessions.
It's is authentic.
I mean who knows. Michael never organized his songs well so its harder to know for sure lmaoI don't think a further-developed 1990 version exists. Production was done in 1986 and vocals were done in 1988. I would also consider this a Dangerous track, not Bad.I've always said that TYLA is technically a Dangerous track

To be honest, I've heard from a trusted source that it doesn't exist, so I'll go ahead and update it accordingly.Ask SeriousFx about that

That's the final version, mate. The demo version was leaked in 2009 in HQ.The demo version
I know I’m talking about the DEMO, never mentioned the final product, or meant it. I never even meant to include the song on my list, I just forgot to delete itNo? The version on T40 is the final version lol
The demo only leaked on the internet
The final version also leaked, in much, much lower quality than the demo
Then the final version got released on T40

If I recall correctly before they changed it they said the new logo was a modern update to try and justify it. As if the artwork needed changing. Speaks to their entire philosophy regarding MJ and his art. Thanks for reminding me about Thriller 40 I had completely forgotten about it.
Wasn't the MJ estate essentially bullied by the public into changing the artwork![]()
I keep forgetting they actually went ahead and used it for the vinyl release. If I recall correctly before they changed it they said the new logo was a modern update to try and justify it. As if the artwork needed changing. Speaks to their entire philosophy regarding MJ and his art.
