The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Michael did make a whole soundtrack for the Willy Wonka movie in the 2000s...Could World of Candy be...?
He put forward 2 solo compositions recorded between 1997 and 2001 for his 2001 solo album of 16 songs - There is no way on earth that he made a whole soundtrack for a film he had absolutely zero ties to.

I mean If you wanna search it, go on ahead
To cite a source for something you have said? No. Johnny Depp was always Burton's number one choice. If you would like to back up the claim that MJ was to play Willy Wonka, then please do. I don't for a second believe that he recorded an entire soundtrack.

A song or 2 maybe, in early to mid 2003? Absolutely.

Even if he did "create" an entire soundtrack, it would be just the work of his producers. I doubt Michael at that point he composed anything.

Don't believe it
Don't believe it
I said don't
Don't believe it
Yeah don't believe it
I said don't
Don't believe it
Don't believe it
No no, no no, no
Don't believe it, don't you
Don't, don't, don't believe 'em
Don't be what they believe
You da na, da na na
You're stuck on one thing
So don't believe it, all the things that you're told

Apparently the only source to ever mention this supposed soundtrack is an interview with Marc Schaffel in Randall Sullivan's biography on Michael, "Untouchable: The Strange Life and Tragic Death of Michael Jackson".
Found a source here : https://www.huffpost.com/entry/michael-jackson-acting-career_n_7656622

No idea whether Schaffel is to be trusted or not though, if Brad Buxer or Michael Prince never talked about it I find it hard to believe.
Maybe people should ask them if they get the chance since they would be the most likely people to have been involved with it.

Pretty sure he was gonna play WIlly
He would have been artistically and physically perfect for the role, and I remember getting through watching that movie in the theater by pretending it was MJ instead of Depp, but sadly, there is no way a big studio would have cast MJ in a major role like that in the 2000's. The financial risk of that decision would have been overwhelming -- not just because of how controversial he was (especially in a movie aimed at children), but also because the studio would have required guarantees regarding his mental and physical health and his capacity to show up on set, and 2000's-era MJ would sadly not have passed that test.

At 1:30:25 Michael Prince briefly mentions that Michael tried very hard to get the Willy Wonka role. He also mentions at some point that MJ did a few songs for The Green Hornet film, so I can’t see why World of Candy couldn’t have been a “pitch” of sorts to Warner Bros for his potential involvement

@GYWOOM:
Do you know how finished „Red Eye“ is and when it was recorded? Apparently it was considered for the Michael album. Would love to know if thats true.

Also, as a big fan of ancient egypt I would love to hear more about the song „King Tutankhamun“. Do you know anything about that one?

Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

Based on recent leaks. It really seems like there is nothing of true interest left in the vault. The only material I can think of is the bad era material. Other than that, there’s pretty much nothing

I don’t think recent leaks should be indicative of anything. There are hundreds of song titles we have absolutely no information about, not to mention the likelihood that we still haven’t learned of every song title in existence.

At the end of the day, we have no idea what remains.

One day we'll have heard everything, literally everything.

Even if most of these demos aren't anything special, there's something nice about still getting to hear "new" MJ every once in a while, it's very special, whether through leaks or official releases. It's kinda sad that we're reaching the end of it all, but it is what it is!

I heard about that title from znop. Never heard the song itself. He said the track is complete. I'm really not sure if he was trolling or not.
Who is Znop? Can we trust him? Because saying that without mentioning the name of a collaborator is suspicious.

fyi Brad Sundberg said most good stuff is already out, Michael Prince and Brad Buxer there‘s still enough good releasable material in the vaults

We’ve had enough

13 songs that they 100% will use on albums or anniversaries

+ Light The Way, Brad Loop, Blue Powder, Bump Like This, and all the snippets smelly shared which apparently includes songs we never heard of

Just the fact we got "Dark Lady" still feels incredibly surreal to me. I'll eat a whole shoe if we get a HQ snippet this year but I'm still hoping it'll happen.
