The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Thanks for confirming! I wonder though why they would leave those vocals on the tape like that, even if it was just an early mix or whatever.
Honestly, leaks like this are genuinely upsetting to me. We can debate whether MJ would be happy with this or that project, but he 100% would be mortified if he was alive to see these vocals or the raw mic feed from Munich ‘97 made it online. What purpose does it serve?

I don't think people posting stuff like that and trying to be funny care about MJ or what he would think.

Spend $200K for HQ guys

You do know the word "placeholder"?

And are you living in this universe or an alternate one? In real life things happen, just an example --> Top 10 Most Expensive & Valuable Records

Should auction houses and collectors all around the world just stop existing because you got an issue with how the world goes 'round & 'round?

Just saying. You can do all the clowning & trolling but life goes on. And you're... just wasting time on the internet.

If that's a placeholder, I don't even wanna know what you'd genuinely charge. I'm not paying 200k for shit I've heard like 500 times

They're historical artefacts that, whether in a small or in a major way, contribute to our understanding and knowledge about MJ's life and career. MJ is now a historical figure, and any historical record or document that appears helps us have a fuller picture of his life and work.

I think you might be the one who's living in an alternate universe because who in their right mind would pay TWO HUNDRED GRAND for an early assembly of one of Michael's least well-recieved albums? And on a format that requires a similarly-expensive player and an equally-expensive digital-to-file transfer system to hear without running the risk of deterioration.

At this point your target audience has got to be your personal buddies because as it stands, that price tag is killing the tape's ability to be sold. If you truly want to let it go, then lower the price to at least 80-90k, if not 50-75k*. The listing as-is has stood there for at least five years, the fact that no one has come to scoop it up is not a good sign. And not to mention: DAT tapes have a limited shelf life. It's only a matter of time before they start deteriorating, and 9 times out of 10 when parts start getting lost over time, that's it. No chance of restoration. Again, not a good look for your "one-of-a-kind" item.

Not even gonna mention that last line, that ellipsis gave me flashbacks to so many keyboard warriors who used that style of typing to sound "totally kewl, dude!"

*I'd go as low as 10k, but I have a feeling you'd have a conniption fit.

I'm not paying __ for shit I've heard like 500 times
Not sure why you feel adressed. I'm not promoting anything here.

I find your second sentence very interesting:
When I started collecting many years ago, I realized that "I'm not paying ___ (any sum that isn't cheap) for ___ (any item) with content I've heard like 500 times." Thus I did not chase any single eg from every country because I'd pay - mostly - for the same songs.
That's not the common approach and it changes a lot.

I appreciate your advice. I know how to store DATs well, never had any deterioration, can you believe? I have no interest to sell as quickly as possible or sell at all.

To be fair, he said those are just random prices to catch other collectors' attention. Maybe the final price could end up being somewhere around 5k to 10k.
Spot on! Things do happen in this universe.

I hope that's the case, then.

(EDIT: oh thank goodness that is the case, which means I just bitched him out for absolutely nothing)

I might be very dumb for wondering this but does this have Michael's real vocals or did he never record real vocals for this song.

Mike the nigga :D. It says "... with different AI pages and audio edited in CapCut. This video is made without monetization purposes and is only made for fans for the purpose of entertainment."

Does that help?

"isn't cheap" and it's 6 figures for half-assed shit.

Jesus christ, most of this has turned into a discussion about collectors and the like. Pretty sure there's a thread about that. Regardless, whoever is right or wrong, is it really worth bickering like school children? This isn't in the spirit of the community at all. Much respect to all where it is due, of course.

Much love and peace. ✌️

This is what happens when you attack moderators over decisions they make.
