The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

I did name the source once: It was a 12-track Sony CD with 3 MJ tracks. Even in the thread I mentioned I found the same mix on another CD. Later turned out there are several collector items with that mix - not sure if they are all the same mastering though.

There's no "hero worship". MJJuniorSinceMW simply said it was a much sought-after and track and appreciated share, here on MJJC. It was "special" as he/she points out for the folks of us on MJJC. That's pretty much it. No idea what you bought for 5 €. Maybe you can tell us or not.
Fair enough if you mentioned it once somewhere, that’s fine.
My point was simply that this mix wasn’t unique or exclusive — it appeared on multiple Sony promo CDs back in 2001, which is all I was saying.

I actually bought this exact CD back in 2001 for about £5, and it included that same mix.

If there’s really no hero worship involved, then why not just upload the material as-is instead of branding it as “Korgnex Mastering” or similar?
Wouldn’t that be the more transparent way to share it?

I’m genuinely curious because you’ve been doing it this way for many years now.
I’d really like to understand the intention behind it — from the outside it sometimes feels a bit like you’re deliberately dropping small breadcrumbs instead of just sharing the full thing.

For example, what exactly is this whole “Korg Premium Sound” or “Korg Redux” thing supposed to be?
Like this one, for instance:

It’s not a criticism, I genuinely just want to understand.

@MJ19951998: We figured that out about "Butterflies", too. Is that version on that CD really 4:36 min? In that case it's yet another variant since the playtime of the 12-track CD version is 4:42 and if I cut silence it's 4:40 - the way I put it out - just like the album version. So some tiny differences on that other 4:36 min version. Either different speed or different fade-in / fade-out or whatever. Does it have the different ad-libs at the end as well? How does the master look? Definitely interesting.

The "Butterflies" mix wasn't labelelled by me in any way.

"Korg Redux" is just me doing a Redux - I assume you know the meaning of "redux". And "Korg Premium Sound" was just a tag - I started with the Dangerous Bucharest soundboard - to point out the audio has been enhanced/edited - whether that's to anyone's personal taste or not.
There's this crazy, incredibly well done Jam live compilation on youTube by a fan with 1.5 million views and it has the JAM soundboard - the "Korg Premium Sound". If people enjoy it, why not? If they don't, that's fine, too. And haters gonna hate, that's how humans are.

That's not some ego thing at all. I have no idea why this triggers people nowadays. I mean I know my "haters" are triggered by everything but no idea why the casual listener would be triggered by that, it just means nothing.

No need to be so aggressive with each other, make peace! We need to bring some positivity to the forum... it's sad seeing all the knowledgeable and long time community members constantly at odds

Peace comes when Neverland Landing comes I fear 🫡🫡🫡

When the song leaks, there will be no more wars, we will all hold hands and skip through the valleys and be innocent like children once more. Bamsday will come, Michael will come out of hiding, commit hee hee, and we will achieve world peace!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶

Sorry for putting it so bluntly, but:
Don't engage in illegal activities if you can't handle it.

It's like the handler of stolen goods, is debating with the the other handler of stolen goods, or with the thief himself, who is acting in a more unlawful manner...

The whole discussion in here is becoming more and more ridiculous!

Nobody in here is entitled to anything. Not to a six second snippet and def not to a full on leak.
The gatekeepers keep, what they shouldn't have in the first place.
And the desperate ones are pleading, begging and bitching to get anything at all.
It's all unlawful/illegal! Nobody is in the right and nobody should have the twisted self-absorbed feeling they deserve anything.

It's MJ's music, it's his collaborators music and it's the music of the ones who legally own the master tapes and publishing rights.
Again: NOBODY in here is entitled to ANYTHING!

THAT should be in the back of everybody's head BEFORE posting any shit in here.
Yes, we are not entitled to anything nor is the distribution of this content legal per say, but realistically it doesn't hurt anyone to have or hear, especially when the artist is dead, has been okay with certain unreleased music leaking, and we have an estate that is incompetent when it comes to putting out unreleased material, and that's not to say they haven't fed us gems before, but there are still so many finished pieces of work like Neverland Landing or Hot Street or think of any good leak we have that is releasable.

We can live without it, yes, but knowing there's a way to have it (under specific circumstances), why not get it? Who are we disrespecting? I wouldn't think producers care that much, there was only the one instance where Lord Jackson stole the producers hard drive and that was extremely fucked up, and then it's wrong to record someone's private listening session against their wishes, those are the only two instances that it crosses a line. Maybe I should throw in the Sony data breach as another crossed line. I must strongly clarify that I'm against stealing or ripping off others to get something.

But if a collector has something they've obtained through other means and can drop it without issue (because when has the Estate ever seriously gave a shit, they didn't even do much about the 2023 seminar theft situation shockingly), then why not? As long as it doesn't paint Michael in a bad light.

Do I feel murky about defending illegal activity? Yes, maybe if I were an artist I wouldn't want my unreleased work put out there against my wishes, especially if it was something that was currently a W.I.P. (Look back at the Xscape and Hold My Hand situations). However, if I were dead and okay with my estate putting unreleased work out there, sure if it would satisfy my fans and if the fans can do it themselves at that point, then why not. Maybe I'd be picky about the more unfinished content, but if fans can enjoy something good then I'd say go for it.

ESPECIALLY when a bunch of collector's tease about such tracks without giving the full deal, and it only drives the want more to no hope or avail. I feel like Michael would be very upset about that.

I think I'm pretty much done here, probs won't be online in a long bit, I initially left the community. Never thought something like this would bring me back, its amazing what his unreleased work does. I'll just be patient, one way or another a song always surfaces, we've already gone this far. I don't know if it will leak within the next couple of weeks or so, but either way getting it at some point at all works.

Is Bombay nights interesting? Does it have any exotic elements to it to justify the title?
Okay update, I have heard it (didn't realize it was Bombay)

Very disappointing, just a drum loop (kinda like the verdict but less exciting) with a bass that sounds basically exactly like Jam. That's all it is. Doesn't fit the name at all imo.

And supposedly that "James Bond" song everyone's been wondering about is literally James Bond but it was meant for This is it.

It's possible there's a snippet of Bombay online somewhere that's mislabeled, because I swear I've heard it before as a tiny snippet.

I thought Bombay was described as having some scratch vocals though

Thanks for the insight! A quick question about Just Remember. Does the song has anything else except the chorus and the vocal breakdown? Do verses exist?
