Sorry for putting it so bluntly, but:
Don't engage in illegal activities if you can't handle it.
It's like the handler of stolen goods, is debating with the the other handler of stolen goods, or with the thief himself, who is acting in a more unlawful manner...
The whole discussion in here is becoming more and more ridiculous!
Nobody in here is entitled to anything. Not to a six second snippet and def not to a full on leak.
The gatekeepers keep, what they shouldn't have in the first place.
And the desperate ones are pleading, begging and bitching to get anything at all.
It's all unlawful/illegal! Nobody is in the right and nobody should have the twisted self-absorbed feeling they deserve anything.
It's MJ's music, it's his collaborators music and it's the music of the ones who legally own the master tapes and publishing rights.
Again: NOBODY in here is entitled to ANYTHING!
THAT should be in the back of everybody's head BEFORE posting any shit in here.
Yes, we are not entitled to anything nor is the distribution of this content legal per say, but realistically it doesn't hurt anyone to have or hear, especially when the artist is dead, has been okay with certain unreleased music leaking, and we have an estate that is incompetent when it comes to putting out unreleased material, and that's not to say they haven't fed us gems before, but there are still so many finished pieces of work like Neverland Landing or Hot Street or think of any good leak we have that is releasable.
We can live without it, yes, but knowing there's a way to have it (under specific circumstances), why not get it? Who are we disrespecting? I wouldn't think producers care that much, there was only the one instance where Lord Jackson stole the producers hard drive and that was extremely fucked up, and then it's wrong to record someone's private listening session against their wishes, those are the only two instances that it crosses a line. Maybe I should throw in the Sony data breach as another crossed line. I must strongly clarify that I'm against stealing or ripping off others to get something.
But if a collector has something they've obtained through other means and can drop it without issue (because when has the Estate ever seriously gave a shit, they didn't even do much about the 2023 seminar theft situation shockingly), then why not? As long as it doesn't paint Michael in a bad light.
Do I feel murky about defending illegal activity? Yes, maybe if I were an artist I wouldn't want my unreleased work put out there against my wishes, especially if it was something that was currently a W.I.P. (Look back at the Xscape and Hold My Hand situations). However, if I were dead and okay with my estate putting unreleased work out there, sure if it would satisfy my fans and if the fans can do it themselves at that point, then why not. Maybe I'd be picky about the more unfinished content, but if fans can enjoy something good then I'd say go for it.
ESPECIALLY when a bunch of collector's tease about such tracks without giving the full deal, and it only drives the want more to no hope or avail. I feel like Michael would be very upset about that.
