I agree, most of the songs from the 2000s are really just built off the successes of the 90s.I don't think any of the final years songs we've heard so far sounds bad, far from it, but they just aren't "unique" or "unlike anything we heard in music" like they were rumoured to be, you can easily draw comparisons to other songs of MJ's or to songs from that time period.
"Adore You" is a lot like "Will You Be There", "Rocker" is like "They Don't Care About Us" with a tint of "Give In To Me", "Boy No" sounds like your average Buxer collab from the 2000's, "Water" was described as being a complex track but it's essentially just a looped chorus, "Dark Lady" sounds like late 2000's hip-hop and so on. Plus a lot of the songs are instrumental grooves which have nothing to write home about.
Again, I don't think any of these songs are bad, you can definitely see the potential with a few of them, but they were definitely overhyped to a certain degree like a lot of the material in the vault tends to be.
The chorus is complete right? No, but with a second artist, Boy No could've been on Michael
By final years I was extending to anything produced after "Invincible".In fairness, I don’t think it was ever confirmed that “Adore You,” “Rocker,” or “Boy No” were written post-trial. I don’t think the second two were even on MJ’s radar based on his notes.
But even then, it’s hard to judge based on a handful of songs and snippets. Every era has some mediocre tracks. Imagine you’d never heard MJ before and someone told you that Thriller was one of the best albums ever made, but the only songs they played you were “The Girl is Mine,” the “Behind the Mask” demo, “Nightline,” and “Can’t Get Outta the Rain.” I think we’d need MUCH more to accurately see where MJ’s compositional skills where.
When I listen to Water it is so similar to Stranger in Moscow, especially the instrumental.I don't think any of the final years songs we've heard so far sounds bad, far from it, but they just aren't "unique" or "unlike anything we heard in music" like they were rumoured to be, you can easily draw comparisons to other songs of MJ's or to songs from that time period.

Honestly most of the stuff from that time barely had any MJ involvement at all. Lots of it is just instrumentals made by neff u, will, and Brad/MPI don’t think it was ever confirmed that “Adore You,” “Rocker,” or “Boy No” were written post-trial. I don’t think the second two were even on MJ’s radar based on his notes.

I actually appreciate the song for that lol. Whenever I listen to SIM I go back to the snippets we have of "Water" afterwards, those 2 songs complement each other quite well. When I listen to Water it is so similar to Stranger in Moscow, especially the instrumental.
The intro to bottom of my heart basically has the same chord progression as SIM as wellWhen I listen to Water it is so similar to Stranger in Moscow, especially the instrumental.
People want to hear songs that Michael worked on in his final years. With the exception of Hold My Hand, which was written and recorded in 2007, there aren't any other songs released from Michael's final years. What is the hype around 2000s era songs they’re all terrible to me
Pretty much. The chorus is complete right?
Nah they’re pretty catchy. What is the hype around 2000s era songs they’re all terrible to me
Not to be that guy, but it was never confirmed whether or not “Dancing for Love” is the releasable RedOne track. They were working on a bunch of songs, most of which we don’t have titles for. It’s possible “Dancing for Love” is just one of the working titles.Well, we do know that "Dancing For Love" is a potential hit song and one of the last tracks he worked on before his passing.
Very interesting that Rocker and Boy No weren’t even on the list of songs in his bedroom. Especially Boy No, since it was actually done in 2008. I wonder why that is.I don’t think it was ever confirmed that “Adore You,” “Rocker,” or “Boy No” were written post-trial. I don’t think the second two were even on MJ’s radar based on his notes.

Is someone able to take this to Damien to see if this is really a snippet of "Silent Spring"? I know a YT comment isn't reliable at all but it's odd that they brought up such a specific song. With everything that's been leaking it's not far fetched to say collectors managed to get their hands on that song as well.So I went back to this fake snippet of "Brad Loop" I remember stumbling upon a while ago to compare it to the real thing now that we have it and there's a comment claiming this is actually a snippet of "Silent Spring"
I know, some rando on YT, far from being the most reliable source of credibility but I still would like to make sure. Is anyone able to verify?
Was “Boy No” done in 2008? I never saw that confirmed.Very interesting that Rocker and Boy No weren’t even on the list of songs in his bedroom. Especially Boy No, since it was actually done in 2008. I wonder why that is.
I don't know if there was ever a confirmed year, all I know is that it's post-trial. And considering Brad left in early 2008 and Brad is credited as Producer, I'll wager that Boy No is actually from 2006-07. Dare I say '05?Was “Boy No” done in 2008? I never saw that confirmed.
I think this is the only source we have for it.Was “Boy No” done in 2008? I never saw that confirmed.
