The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Why not? He was a huge fan of Sly and the Family Stone, already doing a version of “Jane is a Groupee” for Dangerous. No reason he wouldn’t cover one of their songs
Jane has nothing to do with Sly and the Family Stone. The story behind it is very different. However, you should listen to the backing vocals in 'Who Is It'.
It’s been long established that “Seven Digits” does not have full vocals. That user is lying.
There's a big difference between 'fully sung' and 'full' vocals. I can sing a rough vocal multiple times in full, and it would still count as fully sung. That doesn't mean these are the final lyrics, or that they are complete.

I don't know about these unreleased tracks, but the title "Hot Fun In The Summertime" does not sound like a song MJ would sing.
I'm absolutely fascinated at the thought of him singing this, but of all the Family Stone songs this one is the last I'd have thought he's have wanted to do. I'm assuming he sings Sly's parts (and hopefully Freddie's) and they got in Mary for Rose's part and D'Angelo for Larry's.

That's my dream, at least. Well, my dream is a full Sly and the Family Stone tribute album sung entirely by MJ.

It’s the only one of all the damn titles we have confirmation was sung & remixed in 2014, with d’angelo, Mary j blige, Eric Leeds and Jesse Johnson on it
I am aware of 10 true cover songs released, excluding the jackson 5, and these are all in the early years. The songs you have mentioned above, were they ever going to be released?

Well, they've been locked away in the vault since 2014 at least. @Clay7 You have the facts about the song right?
Unfortunately thats one i dont really know anything about outside of whats public. Weird how mysterious this song is for being likely the only actually finished song left that hasnt leaked we know so little about it outside of who worked on the Xscape version. MJ vocal was laid down in 1998 - 2003 although the exact year is unconfirmed.

Song was first known to exist in July 2010. According to John Branca and Michael Prince he did not record very many vocals which is why they brought in D'angelo and Mary J Blige for new vocals on the 2013 remix.

2013 Remix Creds:

very interesting track im dying to hear it out of sheer curiosity with the credits, not a fan of the og track at all.

Totally unrelated but the title "Electricity" i've seen tossed around by fans for years is just a Darkchild beat idea for MJ and nothing more, no lyrics or vocals. Super experimental, used the sound of shattering a light bulb in the percussion. Super interesting imo not sure if this was known or not lol.

I remember some fan posting a while back that that was actually their phone alert going off (which they'd set to 'hoo') or something like that.
No, that's not true lol. The first leaked version didn't even have the intro, the collector had already made a few edits before passing it around, like adding the STTR "hoo!" into the track.

im kind of confused as to where did we find out that Deepak Chopra/MJ song from June 2009 was named "Breed". was there ever any source for that or is it a fan-title?

It was mentioned by Deepak Chopa in an interview. "River Ripple" is what's always been the fan-title
Three weeks before his death, Jackson sent Chopra a CD, hand-delivered to his home in Carlsbad, California. “The music is a very soft, mellow piece,” says Chopra. “It’s called ‘Breed.’ He wanted to do a song about the environment, and he wanted me to help him with the lyrics. There were big ideas behind the lyrics – how the trees are our lungs, the Earth is our body.”

My physical copy says Breathe, not Breed.

If the production was more hard hitting and more "angry voice", this would've totally elevated HIStory. Buxer said there's a more complete production version with an organ part that was discarded

I also thought that “Breed” might have been misheard. “Breathe” (misspelled “Breath” on MJ’s handwritten song note) definitely aligns.
thats what i thought honestly. "Breathe"/"Breath" makes more sense in the context of how Chopra explained the idea for that song
