I don't know about these unreleased tracks, but the title "Hot Fun In The Summertime" does not sound like a song MJ would sing.

Why not? He was a huge fan of Sly and the Family Stone, already doing a version of “Jane is a Groupee” for Dangerous. No reason he wouldn’t cover one of their songs

Jane has nothing to do with Sly and the Family Stone. The story behind it is very different. However, you should listen to the backing vocals in 'Who Is It'.

There's a big difference between 'fully sung' and 'full' vocals. I can sing a rough vocal multiple times in full, and it would still count as fully sung. That doesn't mean these are the final lyrics, or that they are complete.

I'm absolutely fascinated at the thought of him singing this, but of all the Family Stone songs this one is the last I'd have thought he's have wanted to do. I'm assuming he sings Sly's parts (and hopefully Freddie's) and they got in Mary for Rose's part and D'Angelo for Larry's.

That's my dream, at least. Well, my dream is a full Sly and the Family Stone tribute album sung entirely by MJ.
