Lady Of Summer is the only “finished” track from those sessions. no vocalsCan someone ask Damien about details on the classical songs made with David Michael frank?
By 2008 it was ten years old. It originated in 1998.Shut Up and Dance is from 2008?! It sounds astoundingly dated - you could've told me that was early 1990s and I'd believe you.
For someone so forward thinking I can't believe he was working on something so dated.

I've seen quite a few MJ detractors say he couldn't move past Dangerous NJS style sonically. This!
'Hollwood Tonight' (although also still a demo) sounded dated too, imo
Absolutely too far now. That song is a pure ear worm. This!

Does Invincible not exist for these people?I've seen quite a few MJ detractors say he couldn't move past Dangerous NJS style sonically.
I think the criticism is misguided but tracks like this being worked on don't help the case against the argument.
2008 top hits were like Don't Stop the Music, Umbrella, Just Dance, 4 Minutes, Miss Independent, With You, Womanizer, When I Grow Up. To me it sounds right at home. But yes, it also does sound like his NJS tracks.Shut Up and Dance is from 2008?! It sounds astoundingly dated - you could've told me that was early 1990s and I'd believe you.

That song sounds nothing like the ones mentioned. Do you remember what version they played? Was it the first version or was it the rework? I'm hearing reports saying that the latest version is actually a posthumous rework, did Michael Prince mention if he was working on the song back then?I heard it at a Brad Buxer and Prince conference in France...
This song is a real caricature/parody, or of a Chris Tucker like with habitual mocking "hihi Shamone".
It doesn't sound like 89 or 90 at all. I hear none of the 80s characteristically bad synthsThat song sounds nothing like the ones mentioned. SUAD does sound like it's from 89 or 90
Seasonings is the working title of ChangesSeasonings and Not At The Top of My Head
Are these titles false? Right?
Incorrect. It has always been called Changes.Seasonings is the working title of Changes
The songs supposed to emulate Stevie Wonder also isn’t it?It doesn't sound like 89 or 90 at all. I hear none of the 80s characteristically bad synths
More like James Brown I'd sayThe songs supposed to emulate Stevie Wonder also isn’t it?
I see a year ago they told me it was Seasonings for some reason sometimes they love to lyingIncorrect. It has always been called Changes.
I thought the same, but MP said some time ago on the Archives that MJ never recorded any vocals. What puzzles me most regarding the whole Shut Up and Dance leak is that Rodrigo Teaser (a very popular and proeminent brazilian MJ Impersonator) has talked about this song during a podcast in 2022 (
https://www.mjjcommunity.com/thread...he-unreleased-track-shut-up-and-dance.200452/ )
and how Michael Prince let him listen to a snippet of it. I really believe he heard Michael there, especially now that we've heard several mixes from Eric Kirkland and his MJ impression is alright, but not enough to fool us, MJ diehard fans. I don't know, just sharing some thoughts here that we might not know the whole picture of the recording process of it (maybe MJ did a vocal scratch take back in 2008?)
