I don't think the multitracks for the original version are even out there, but rumor says that the Xscape album multitracks (remixes only) are out there.I want the loving you session and more thriller era stuff
That little snippet of the Loving You vocal take is honestly one of my favorite leaks, it's so fun hearing Michael vibing to the song lol. Criminal that this bit of vocal was cut from the release for whatever reason.I want the loving you session and more thriller era stuff
Can’t you hear that the whole vocal take is completely different from „the toy“???Regarding Best of Joy, did MJ record any new vocals for it in the 2000's, aside from changing the word "toy" for "joy" in the first verse?
I think it’s because it makes more sense for Boy No to leak because more people have it, unlike Rocker of which only the snippets we have are out there.I'm suprised at how it seems like more folk want Boy No more than Rocker. Maybe it's because it might be more vocally complete? It's just that there are so few MJ demos with the gritty and rough vocals, and Rocker is one of them. The reconstructed versions and AI edited ones don't do the song justice I think
I like the way he sings the verses tho, it fits with the mood of the song.I'm not too crazy about "Boy No" leaking anymore since the song sounds kind of weak in the verses. "Dark Lady" is truly my MVP lol.
Same! That "Loving You" was too short. Need more.I want the loving you session and more thriller era stuff
Y'know what, this is valid, and I'll defend it. The stuff we got doesn't have enough vocals to vibe to it often besides Neveland Landing and World of Candy. Boy No and Rocker are the closest we'll get to songs with completed vocals, it's fair they want it. Korgnex shared some good stuff but nothing like those two. I don't think anyone will be that satisfied with these leaks until we get those two. Not that we should because its not our birth right but if collectors are going to be passing it around like it's a game of telephone, they might as well throw it out there, especially since we've been tempted by all these lyrics and snippets.I’m loitering in an MJ Discord group, and you won’t believe how many people are complaining that “Boy No” and “Rocker” weren’t leaked. We just got several tracks we’ve been dying to hear for years, and the focus is locked on what we DIDN’T get. Sad.
More than likely doesn’t realize Thriller 40 is a thing, which is believableCan’t you hear that the whole vocal take is completely different from „the toy“???
Well, if we recall, LA Reid said there were at least 24 tracks on which MJ sang from top to bottom. That number likely includes XscapeY'know what, this is valid, and I'll defend it. That's the way Michael worked when it came to music but it cancelled itself out. Michael would flesh out a full chorus and if he liked it, he'd continue work on it but at the same time, if he had a new idea, he'd abandon the previous song but it doesn't mean everything is like that. A lot of songs from late 70's and early 80's are pretty much complete. I don't get why his estate hasn't did something with themI am grateful with what we have but am very disappointed Changes and Innocent Man aren't completed tracks as the snippets made them out to be. I prefer listening to more polished music, not demos or instrumentals.
I would think Victory (w/Freddie Mercury) and Buffalo Bill have completed vocals too right?Well, if we recall, LA Reid said there were at least 24 tracks on which MJ sang from top to bottom. That number likely includes Xscape

I know about Thriller 40, and I listened to "The Toy" a grand total of one time, and I remember it being exactly the same as Best of Joy (vocally, lyrically, etc.) So I assumed MJ had just taken the original vocal take and changed one word, which really wouldn't be surprising knowing how he operated in his later years.More than likely doesn’t realize Thriller 40 is a thing, which is believable
Well respectfully, your memory is failing you. You need to relisten expeditiously.I know about Thriller 40, and I listened to "The Toy" a grand total of one time, and I remember it being exactly the same as Best of Joy (vocally, lyrically, etc.) So I assumed MJ had just taken the original vocal take and changed one word, which really wouldn't be surprising knowing how he operated in his later years.
Victory is incomplete and Buffalo Bill is partialI would think Victory (w/Freddie Mercury) and Buffalo Bill have completed vocals too right?
To our knowledge, was it ever worked on further?I HAVE LOST MY ****** MIND OVER CHANGES! IM UP DANCING MY ASS OFF...LORD HAVE MERCY WHY DIDNT HE FINISH THAT 1.....GOD!!
Different vocal takes. The closest we got to that would be Can't Get Out of the RainI know about Thriller 40, and I listened to "The Toy" a grand total of one time, and I remember it being exactly the same as Best of Joy (vocally, lyrically, etc.) So I assumed MJ had just taken the original vocal take and changed one word, which really wouldn't be surprising knowing how he operated in his later years.
RWITY - in the beginning when he says do do do do do dooo - it somehow reminds me a bit to Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On
Largely because they're pre-Thriller + they're wrapped up in rights issues between Quincy Jones' estate, James Whitney, and whatever other writers he worked with + they may be vocally complete but it's likely they aren't instrumentally complete (which isn't much of an excuse given what came out on Thriller 40 but eh). That's the way Michael worked when it came to music but it cancelled itself out. A lot of pre-Thriller material could be used but like you said, rights issues. These are things that should've been sorted out within the first year or 2 of his passing.Largely because they're pre-Thriller + they're wrapped up in rights issues between Quincy Jones' estate, James Whitney, and whatever other writers he worked with + they may be vocally complete but it's likely they aren't instrumentally complete (which isn't much of an excuse given what came out on Thriller 40 but eh).
@AlwaysThere @SmoothGangsta not to derail the thread, but is it alright to share a no-crowd edit of BTM?Pray tell may I hear it.
