Musical Parallels Thread

I don't know if this is legit:

(at 0:05)

But those strings remind me of the melody of ' I took my baby on a Saturday bang'

(at 2:39)

Which in turn reminds me of these strings:

(at 2:06)

Smooth Criminal and Throwing Your Life Away. So melodically similar, essentially siblings. I'm sitting here just now realizing how they are perfect counterparts. The hooks are the most diverse parts.

Maybe this is a reach but @Mister_Jay_Tee if I recall correctly you both like In The Back and Serious Effect right..?
Is it me or are the vocal verses somewhat similar? If so I wonder if ITB is a reworked SE or maybe an unconscious thing

Sunset Driver and Say Say Say have a similar melody in these two lines.

From Sunset Driver: ''All alone she in the ego zone''
From Say Say Say: ''What can I do, girl, to get through to you''

Can't Go For That (No Can't Do) by Oates and Hall // Billie Jean by Michael Jackson // Like a Virgin by Madonna

All 3 share something in common

Does that count?

As already mentioned these lines sound a bit similar:

Dangerous
'But you're no damn good for me!'

7 Digits
'They only give you seven digits when you die!'

But.. they also remind me of:

Threatened
'So you should feel threatened by me!'

These melodies feel similar to me:

Mind Is The Magic

When it's Siegfried & Roy
It's the mind over magic in true
Your own thoughts play the game in
The magical wonders they do
The mind in the magic is you

Who Is It

And she promised me forever
And a day we'd live as one
We made our vows
We'd live a life anew
And she promised me in secret
That she'd love me for all time
It's a promise so untrue
Tell me what will i do?

No One really talks about how sonically and melodically similar the Thriller and Bad Title tracks are. They're practically brothers or at least cousins.

Wanted to note a couple of things I noticed pertaining to some of the newly leaked material:

Although it's pretty well known that Michael borrowed from the Carpenters' 'Top of the World' for 'Much too Soon', the pre-chorus of 'Bottom of My Heart' (at 2:00) also borrows from their song 'Yesterday Once More' (specifically the pre-chorus melodies - "all the songs I loved so well" and the BOMH guitar notes)

'Changes' shares similarities with the final minute of 'Cheater' (the change at 4:00). In turn, I've always heard similarities between this section of 'Cheater and 'Leave Me Alone'

'Innocent Man' reminds me a lot of Janet's 'Runaway', which of course was offered by Jam & Lewis to Michael as a potential duet, alongside 'Scream'. This doesn't mean the two songs had any bearing on one another, could just be coincidence.

There's a part of "Remember What I Told You' that's melodically similar to Celine Dion's 'My Heart Will Go On', but this may well be coincidental.

I noticed this as well. It’s cool.
