"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

I'm just looking for a solid movie with a great script. No one will ever look exactly like Michael but even if they did, what's the use if they're not good actors? I'd take a good actor that looks nothing like Michael instead of someone who looks like him but sucks at acting.

i miss Michael so much right now. he's never coming back and the world will never be able to experience him, or hear his side of the story, ever again. i'm so heartbroken.
Exactly. This was Sony's big chance to address the story head-on.

And they wasted it.

Maybe it was a ethical and safety concern. Do you really want real animals being forced to perform for the cameras?
Yes. Of course.

What is the world coming to?

1.6m in total so far on Twitter, just on the official page
I think it's more like 2 minutes.

Viewers should then be able to piece together the true motives of the Chandlers, Arvizos, and Cascios.
The audience isn't going to piece anything together. It needs to be spelled out.

What I like about the new trailer is that Michael tells himself at the beginning that he's confident, strong, and beautiful. He's convincing himself of it because he doesn't actually believe it. I also appreciate how the biopic portrays the attempts to profit from Michael's career from the very beginning. Viewers should then be able to piece together the true motives of the Chandlers, Arvizos, and Cascios.
Was that really Michael (Jaafar) talking in the beggining? I was ready to ask here if anyone knew who was saying those things (I assumed Katherine or maybe some other female character).

Because when I listen to the rest of Jaafar's voice on the trailer, doesn't sound similar to that part.

^^^Michael’s affirmation was it not or something along those lines? Anyway , I agree with you it sounded like the real MJ and different to what we heard throughout the trailer.

Having watched the trailer about 30 times I’m starting to get really frustrated at how shiny and fake everything looks. The CGI is not that great tbh , there is nothing gritty to this movie.

I said this earlier but it’s really bugging me

What do you make of Brancas part in this trailer? After he appeared in the teaser I was intrigued, and now he really got my attention....

They should have added some film grain. Then it looks less modern.

He will be the mastermind behind MJ’s peak 80’s career and someone who will advise Michael on what is best….only for MJ to disagree and do his own thing which will cause conflict.

His Bohemian Rhapsody equivalent

Watched the trailer this morning. I'm pretty excited! My only gripe is Bubbles being CG; definitely not the best looking CG. Is it really that damn difficult to use real animals anymore?

Everything else looks promising. I got chills when Joseph told Michael "I told you what to think". That was just... damn.

"His story begins", is that some sort of hint that they are open to a part 2 if this movie is successful?

Personally I think its a waste to not have a 8 or 10 hour TV-series on MJ. That is not a knock on the movie project, its just that you have to leave a lot of important stuff out and also shorten the things you do include in in etc. Its hard to get depth into it when you have to rush through it.

A part 2 would make me feel a bit better if I know it comes with some serious challenges. but its also a big opportunity to set the story straight!

Watched the trailer as soon as it came out and i coulda swore that at the end he says "and i'm just getting started". Seems its changed to "Magic" now.
Did anyone spot this or am i going crazy!!

The film looks promising and I really like what I've seen in the trailer so far, but unfortunately the biography only goes up to his 80s. That doesn't tell the whole story of Michael Jackson. There has to be a sequel, a second part, about his life up to his death in 2009; otherwise, it would be disappointing.

That's because of organizations like ASPCA, Humane Society, PETA, Greenpeace, etc. They monitor movies/TV, circuses, SeaWorld, zoos, rodeos, farm animals, research animals, and so on. If you buy some shampoo, it might have something like "free from animal testing" on it.

I guess it is easier to use CGI too, although it's more expensive. Like those 2 recent "live action" Lion King movies, they couldn't train a group of real animals to do any of that stuff.
