2026 new album/compilation/OST

Nope, just rare and unreleased demos, re-imagined tracks by other artists and the Spike Lee documentary
Here's my speculation on what I assume those demos would've been:

-the already-released DSTYGE and WDAN home demos
-the Sunset Driver home demo
-Wanna Be Startin Somethin's 1978 home demo
-Goin' To Rio
-Thank You For Life (acknowledged by the Estate in the Vera Serova trial)
-Under Your Skin (acknowledged by the Estate in the Vera Serova trial)
-and maybe the 1978 demo for What A Lovely Way To Go (since apparently the version on Thriller 40 was a later iteration from 1981)

and since this likely would've been a single bonus disc its possible that the rest would've be filled out by reimaginings of DSTYGE, Rock With You, WDAN, Off The Wall, and She's Out Of My Life.

A Weeknd version of an OTW track vaguely intrigues me.

I think a duet version of The Lady in My Life with The Weeknd could be something.

Some ideas I had that could flt:
Off The Wall (feat. The Weeknd)
Rock With You (feat. Drake - he performed that song on his tour so possible)
She‘s Out Of My Life (feat. Ariana Grande)
Don‘t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough (feat. Bruno Mars)

I was thinking why else would they take out a huge Superbowl spot to just show a trailer so maybe there's at least one song coming? But the estate is terrible at decision making so I wouldn't get your hopes up...

Pointless
Huh?

At this point, I don't think I will buy any future MJ release, for the rest of my life, except for the original albums in Dolby Atmos. That's the only thing worth releasing!

No more greatest hits packages. I own the same song over and over. Reimagined tracks don’t work either.
Exactly. Complete waste of time. All it does is create confusion and damage sales of the previous greatest hits packages.

Nobody remembers the TII album. Indeed, the whole TII song was a wasted song that would have been better on a dedicated release.

Oof. This would be complete bullshit. So utterly contrived and pointless. Just seems like people are picking names at random just because they're popular.

I'd hope not. Firstly, it means the whole world misses out on the experience (because they're asleep). Secondly, it's just not the place for it. Thirdly, you can't actually hear anything at the Superbowl.

It is also possible that the new Number ones vinyl is intended as a biopic soundtrack

At this point, I'm just expecting them to release a greatest hits compilation with MAYBE 1 unreleased song and/or a shitty remix of an old one.

Keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed!(y)

I can imagine they releasing it like this:

Movie Part 1: Songs from Motown to Bad with 1-2 new songs. Most probably Hot Street.

Movie Part 2: Songs from Dangerous to 2009 with 1-2 new songs. Biggest thing would be if they would release the RedOne Track

I can't wait until we have the soundtrack tracklist. I hope we will hear some of them:

Make or Break
Crack Kills
Buffalo Bill
Alright Now
Be Me 4 a Day
Tabloid Jungle
What You Do to Me
Apocalypse Now
Get Around
Bad Company
Get In To The Groove
Places You Find Love

Be Me 4 a Day sounds like a fitting song for a biopic.

Whats „Places You Find Love“? Never ever heard that title lol.

When can we expect some news to the soundtrack album?

Crack Kills
Wtf, that would be in incredibly bad taste 🤮

Also, why would the estate waste valuable demos on a soundtrack album when they could use them to release a new actual album?

Finally, you should be campaigning for no unreleased songs, that way you can safely ignore the soundtrack. I dunno about you, but I will not be buying an album that has Billie Jean, then Buffalo Bill, then Smooth Criminal,. It would be very hard to listen to.

Not to mention the public hasn't heard of any of these songs, don't would make everybody switch off.

The estate should have a clear plan for the soundtrack, not just include a scatter shot of songs at random.

Be Me 4 A Day doesn't exist - at most it's a writer's demo, Bad Company is a Tito song, Apocalypse Now only exists in a drum-only work tape, Get In To The Groove has no vocals, and I have zero idea what Places You Fnd Love Is
